This Plaza/Center is my hub for transport. If I'm going home to LI or Penn from BKLY this is my spot to pick up the LIRR. After shopping on Fulton Mall this is my stop to grab my cab for Bedstuy so it's safe to say I'm always here rain, sun or snow. In the warmer months while I'm awaiting my transportation it's nice to sit outside. When it's cold out, I have to find other means of occupying my time so I appreciate having stores like Target, DSW and V Secrets or even Starbucks, stone cold and other fast food restaurants to pass the time. I've also noticed stores like music, optician,Verizon, dentist, city bank and clothes to name a few. Little altercations tend to happen here as it appears to be a popular hangout for teens and the young and restless. I would advice everyone to be mindful of their bags and purchases here. It isn't the best spot in the world but it isn't the worst either. Oh and the empanada and natural smootie trucks on the Hanson place side rocks! The End read more

Yesterday evening, I went to Subway (sandwich spot) at the Atlantic Center (first and last time) because it was convenient and I REALLY wanted a sandwich! The environment was crowded and tight (mall space...understood). The energy surrounding the staff and food appeared to be good . However, after the sandwich was made and later eaten, I woke up this morning at almost 4 o'clock with an intestinal ache! The goddamn sandwich revisited me twice...back to back! I had some strong ginger tea and rode the experience out like the trooper that I am. I'm fine now. Screw that Subway! Trust, it was THEIR sandwich because I, well...SAW IT! The staff there need this be cleaner! Bacteria is REAL and they are not properly cleaning...NASTY! Stay the fuck away! Across from the new Barclay's Center, Atlantic Center has become a destination over the years. While they have always housed Target since I've lived in NYC over the last 9 years, other businesses have come and go. I mean, let's be honest....yes, they have a Starbucks, a McDonalds, blah blah blah. After Daffy's closed, none other but UNIQLO opened in their space. Buffalo Wild Wings too if that's your thing. It's very well connected to most subway lines (let's see, 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, and R trains, as well as the LIRR right within. So you don't even have to get outside if it's raining or freezing. Barclay's is across the street. And it's just a short walk to the A, C, and G trains. One of the most well connected stations in NYC. Keep in mind, though, while it's called a "Mall" on Yelp - it's far from it. It has few stores that you would find in your average mall. It' just called a mall because the fact that it is several stores under one roof, that you can walk to without exiting the building. Note: everything in this review is referring to the Atlantic Terminal building of the mall complex. There are two areas - with the second area housing Marshalls etc. accessed by a pedestrian bridge on the other side of Target. Ok guys. I hate to break this to you : This isn't a mall. It's a mess of shops and stores in that are randomly slapped together in no real order that happen to be in the same buildings. I am not a fan of this "mall". Most malls have food courts, benches to rest and sit all over the place...this one doesn't. I remember when this "mall" opened, around 2003. It was "meh" then and it's "meh" now. There are just a few more places to shop. I rarely come in if I have to, because it's just nice if the weather is bad, that's all. If you want to get to the second level on the other building you have to walk through target to get to the bridge. Ugh. I could go on and on, but I won't. I've never liked malls, but this is a sad excuse for one. read more

For some reason, actually like being in this place. I do a lot of waiting for trains and I go to the mall a lot. I think the biggest thing that they're missing here is seating. While waiting for trains, a lot of people are leaning on random objects, on the walls and even sitting on the floor. A few benches here and there would really be nice. read more

Atlantic Center and Atlantic Terminal are two big box retail centers at the crossroads of Brooklyn. Full disclosure - as a real estate person I'd say its more a power center versus an enclosed mall. It does not have all of the amenities of a true suburban mall. No food court. No plentiful benches, central sunlit atrium, or people watching. (Forest City probably makes more money off the attached offices I bet). Parking decks, however, are plentiful and probably confusing. Atlantic Terminal is the building with the Target. Atlantic Center is the one with the Pathmark, Best Buy, and Burlington Coat Factory. They are connected by a pedestrian bridge in the back right corner of the Target, which leaves you near the DMV on the other side. National credit chain store anchors: Best Buy, Target, DSW, Burlington. I guess you could lump Marshall's and Pathmark in here too. Mid-range stores include Victoria's Secret (recently renovated), Bath & Body Works, Uniqlo, Men's Warehouse, Guitar Center, Sleepy's, Payless Shoes. The local DMV is also here, and its massive. I think there is also a Mandees and a Motherhood Maternity store... There is a MAC and Carol's Daughter kiosk. Food options: Subway, McDonald's (always crowded!), Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Starbucks. There's an Auntie Ann's and a Dunkin' Donuts kiosk. I am here most often for the Target (rainy day date wanderings), DSW, and the Pathmark, which is huge by NYC supermarket standards. I rarely go anywhere else - the layout of the "mall" isn't inviting for wandering through and if you're not familiar with the layout, you will get frustrated trying to find the pedestrian bridge. Its also kind of dark in here. I love the real estate touches (there are block and lot maps drawn on as ceiling decor) and the escalators work well. While the place gets a lot of traffic due to the LIRR and multiple subway lines, it's not a place I enjoy lingering in. But its close enough to my place that I'm here often to pick up a few extra groceries, elusive Ben & Jerry's core pints, a pair of shorts, or a router in one go. read more

The Atlantic Center serves as a crucial transportation hub, commerce center, and focal point of the expanding Ft. Greene neighborhood giving access to the Barclay's Center a block away. For the several years that it took to create the center and expand the subway and LIRR access, it could have been better done. I do not know what the MTA has against escalators (apart from the fact that they do not maintain them properly as they break down almost daily), but you'd think the MTA could have designed a few escalators to ferry people with problems walking into and out of the terminal. The terminal only has two elevators which took months to install and they are of course always crowded. What is worst is the maze of staircases one must ascend and descend if one is transferring from the N, R, D towards the 2, 3, 4, 5, or B and Q trains. As a commerce center, the Atlantic Center houses mainly Target, some restaurants (Applebees and Buffalo Wild Wings) and links via bridge to the Atlantic Terminal where Pathmark, Marshall's and Burlington is located. This is the only mall I have seen that does not have a true food court (only McDonald's) apart from the aforementioned restaurants which often become packed quickly. Also, there is almost no space to sit down in the mall. It has been said that it was designed to keep hordes of teenagers from basically just hanging in the mall, but they do so anyway and sit on the floor if they are not taking up the few available benches. The Atlantic Center is even more of a hub with the opening of the Barclay's Center, where the Brooklyn Nets, and soon the Islanders will play. With the opening of the stadium, increased crowds now come through the Center making the area crowded and impossible to go to the restaurants on game or concert days. I also notice a lack of security in the area as incidents happen with some frequency. The Center is not a bad place to travel through and it is conveniently close to all my venues I head to, but it can improve in many ways such as security and access. read more

Exceptional service using in-store pickup! I placed my order just before leaving work yesterday (459pm) and as I exited the building I received a notification that my order was ready for pickup (508pm). I was expecting it to be at least an hour since it was rush hour and it's a high traffic store, but no - in LESS THAN 10 minutes, my order was ready! So quick and efficient! And the woman at checkout was a total pleasure!! Lines are always lengthy here (though they move considerably fast) so I'm really glad I utilized this feature and saved myself the headache of browsing (and buying more than I came in for)! 5 stars for this particular visit. read more

This being my first couple of month in Brooklyn, I had to see all this crazy city has to offer. I took a break from a hard day of work to see the "Atlantic Mall" on, well Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn. This mall was impressive! From the outside as well as the inside. The choices of were to go are overwhelming. Cold Stone, Pandora, Game Stop, I didn't know were to start. This is a mall you spend the entire day with when your with your friends. You definitely come on a pay day because spending is a must. The only negative I have to say was the security guards at the side entrance they were talking loud and complaining. That's not a good look. But let's add some more positive. They are directly across the street from the Barclay Center, wow! Take in a game the shop or vice versa. I will be at this mall a lot over the summer. Key word for me was GAME STOP. I need to be fair and update my review. Since a few months ago, I have been working in Lower Manhattan this means if I am commuting and from Lawn Guyland, it's easier (and way faster) for me to make use of Atlantic Terminal. This station has become my new go-to transfer point to get me where I need to go. Yes, the LIRR platforms and tiny and dimly-lit but they also have a direct passageway to the subways. Is it the nicest station? No. Is it convenient? Absolutely. It makes getting anywhere in Lower Manhattan a breeze. Plus it's always less crowded than Penn Station and the trains arrive early so you can sit and wait on the train. read more

This place is pretty terrible. It looks like it hasn't been upgraded since the 90s or something. Even walking by to get to the LIRR is unpleasant. Uniqlo is fine, but you will see the saddest Uniqlo staff that you have ever seen in an Uniqlo. That extra star is for you! That Mcds is so run down. Even if you are getting fries - you get them with a side of sadness or not at all cuz that line is a mess. Bath & Body Works is ratchet. Yes, the candle that you want will be out of stock. No, you cannot buy the sample. No, there aren't any paper towels after you washed your hands. They have the rudest Starbucks staff in Brooklyn - beware! You can't even avoid them if you order online. What a shame. Pretzel place has the slowest staff ever. Every time that I've even thought about getting a pretzel they were too busy "trying" to take the order of 1 single person in front of me - and there are about 3 people behind the counter. Avoid. Walk to the train as quickly as you can. Not worth the stress of walking in. Maybe just wait for the LIRR at Shake Shack - across the street. read more

This isn't one of my favorite malls, but it gets the job. Although it's smaller than most malls, it has many store that are ideal for quick buys (i.e. Bath & Body Works, Payless, Verizon, Victoria Secret, DSW, etc.). It's also conveniently located by Stop& Shop and the Barclays Center. The biggest area of growth for this establishment is the cellphone service. It's nearly impossible to get cellphone service when entering the mall. read more

God I hate this place. I was exuberant to learn there was indeed a Target in Brooklyn when I moved here. However, the Target at Atlantic Center is not really a Target. It's the Seventh Circle of Hell. Mile long lines, not enough cashiers, stupid screaming kids and their idiot parents, picked over merchandise all over the floor, etc etc etc. I loathe coming here. The only thing that brings me back are the Target prices, which on personal care and pet items, can't be beat. The Vicky's Secret sucks, the Daffy's is fucking scary, as is the Subway, and the Old Navy. It feels like heaven when you emerge from the hot, sticky, nasty subway station below, but after 5 seconds of screaming kids and ghetto-unfabulous teenagers running rampid, you realize you're still in Hell. read more

This review is for the subway portion of Atlantic Center. I am not sure why, but I have had several gruesome encounters in this station. - I was walking down the stairs from the 2/3 train. I have headphones on. A woman yells, "FUCK______" (I didn't hear the last part of what she said due to my headphones), throws her umbrella at me, and gives me a nasty stare. - I was walking down the stairs to the B/Q train. The platform looked suspiciously empty. I continued down the stairs. The entire right half of the platform was empty, because at the end, there was a man, with his pants off, vigorously pooping on the ground. I was startled and walked in the opposite direction. I then saw him use a massive sheet to wipe. It was gross. At least he wiped? read more

I only give this mall 2 stars instead of 1 because of what it brings to Brooklyn. Kudos to the improved commuter station. Kudos to bringing in lots of businesses to a growing section of the borough that needed it. That where to compliments end. This places is a nightmare. The customer service at most of the store is horrendous. They don't care, they're slow, and they're rude. A special notice to the rude staff at DSW this past Saturday who were constantly swarming around my mother, who has a problem finding any shoes that fit and don't hurt her surgically repaired feet, complaining that she had taken too many shoes out and doubting that she would even buy any. Nevermind that your job is maintain the stores. Nevermind that most of you are too buy fraternizing with each other that someone would dare inconvenience you with your job. How about you actually help someone who is in need of help. I hope your manager reads this and fires everyone working that day. This "mall" is filled with loud, obnoxious people and kids running around causing havoc. The mall is not a play-pen people, looks after your bad-ass kids. I'm tried of being running into by kids thinking they're at the 100m dash. and lets not forget the way the adults behave. You know that website about the people of Wal-Mart? They should make one about this place. I grew up in Brooklyn and I'm proud of it, but looking at these folks make me question my loyalty. For the pampered types, don't come here. This isn't your prissy Roosevelt mall or Jersey Garden, gosh darnit. This is Flatbush, bitch! The Pathmark is crowded, cheap and sometimes a little grimy (though less so after the remodel). So is the Marshall's, except picked clean of all the good brands now that the Park Slope moms have trickled down for Target, which they also overcrowd. DSW is nice and neat, kind of a haven from the chaos. The McDonald's (or Lord of the Flies), will always be hell on earth but that is McDonald's in general. Old Navy will have a line sprawling through out the entire store. The Body Shop will eternally be on sale on products women love to buy and are practically all the same product. The DMV will be a uniting force of every socio-economic background against the DMV. But it's our mall and nobody will take it's dignity and filth away from us! read more

Of course Atlantic Center isn't a "mall". Being in Brooklyn, there isn't really a "mall", except for Kings Plaza, which doesn't really have a food court and maybe SOME benches scattered throughout. I feel like in Brooklyn, nobody ever goes to the mall to hang out, as there are so many other better places to hang out. We come here to shop and I feel that Atlantic Mall certainly offers that. More stores are coming to this establishment like MAC and Uniqlo, which are fairly new stores. And of course, there's a Target, DWS, Burlington Coat Factory, and Marshall's, which are all awesome discount stores. And who can resist Victoria's Secret? There are places to eat here- just your normal chain's like McD's, Applebee's, and Subway's. Do you really need mall food though? I mean, we live in NYC, anything we want to eat from Russian to Italian is at the palm of our hands, or in this case one stop away from this place. Atlantic is great for transfers as it isn't as complicated as many other hubs like Times Square or Grand Central is. Lots of trains too- mostly all trains will find their way here near downtown Brooklyn. Plus, it is also located nearby the Barclays Center, so if your favorite artist is playing here, don't worry about parking and all that craziness- just take the train. read more

A poor excuse of a mall. Was very disappointed and continue to be disappointed every time I come here (which is very rare). It always seems like they need to change a light bulb in there. It has a dark and gloomy feel to it. Honestly I don't ever have the urge to spend money while there. The vibe and atmosphere just makes me want to clutch my purse closer and power walk to my destination. The stores don't have much and I always feel like I'm being watched. As a matter of fact I was actually followed while shopping in Burlington. I'm in the shoe section and I see an employee adjusting the shoes. I walk over to the handbags and the same employee decides to come over and adjust the bags. I go look at some bathrobes and sure enough the same lady is right there folding pajama pants. I eventually asked her "Do you need something? Am I in your way?" She said no and left. I immediately dropped everything in my hands and left. If your going to have your employees follow someone at least have some sh*t worth stealing!! Overall: If I do return It'll be for a quick purchase or to grab a pretzel. read more

I remember when this place was literally just a hole in the ground. I grew up passing by this hole in the ground every week for years. Now that there's something in that hole I'm impressed. When I was in the area I took a stroll through here to see what it was like... and to look for a bathroom. The bathroom was pretty hard to find. I only saw one sign pointing in the direction and looking at all the maps none mark them fairly well. Turns out there's only one. It's all the way on the third floor near the elevators across from ChuckECheese. Well that was a journey. For such a busy place it was nice there wasn't a line for the restroom but that's probably because it takes you 10mins to realize where it is. Most folks would probably give up and go. Now for the rest of the places it's pretty much your standard mall the main draw being ChuckECheese and Target. I swarmed the area for 15 minutes just walking around waiting for a seat to open up. But with the volume of people that come through here finding a seat anywhere was like a game of musical chairs. One person gets up another snatches it up. If you can avoid stopping to shop here I suggest you head over to Fulton Mall 2 blocks up instead. Unless you're here specifically for the two stated attractions you'll have a much calmer experience shopping somewhere else. read more

If I didn't happen to love my best friends and their three and five year olds with all my freaking heart, I would have been content to never set foot in this place. I had a feeling the madness would give me a panic attack and right I was. The Target is so completely and totally understocked that it looks like it's going out of business. The employees seem incompetent and indifferent. The whole place is a total shit show and I LOVE Target. Going home to the Super Target near my parent's place in Colorado is like leaping through a field of poppies and puppies. We went up to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate the littlest man's third birthday and I was in awe of how poorly it was run. Every other machine was broken, all the fountain sodas were out, every table that praise baby Jesus happened to be open was covered in trash, and oh, by the way, it's Chuck E. Freaking Cheese. Ugh. Our adventure there didn't last long until the over-21 set was tearfully begging for beer. We made our way over the Buffalo Wild Wings and were quickly sat. The service was actually pretty decent and their selection of specialty craft beers was more than I was expecting. This mall is awful. Full of overcrowded stores with long lines. Pretty much every train stops by this mall (including the Long Island Railroad), making it easy to access with mass transportation. (Dont drive here, its like midtown Manhattan with traffic and craziness with cars) But honestly it is not worth your time to go out on your way to visit this location. read more

Atlantic Mall is a place for people of all walks of life, as long as you can make it past the barrier of (2$) dollar cabs, gypsy cars, homeless and degenerates that line the front door and sell umbrellas on sunny days. Get inside and you'll find a spacious interior mall with discount stores in the likes of Burlington Coat Factory, Marshalls, and stores such as DSW (a great one at that), Victoria Secret, Target, Best Buy and more. Very easy to reach from nearly all parts of Brooklyn, you can easily get here on the DNR, BQ, 2345, LIRR and the FG train isn't a bad walk (about 5 mins or less.) There's usually homeless people that open the door for you and demand change, ignore them and enjoy the perk - I like to pretend I am a rockstar about to debut. read more

I don't get all the negative reviews. First, I don't even consider this place to be a "mall". Its called Atlantic Center and its just that, a shopping center. Yes its small, but its convenient. Its right off of the 2,3,4,5,A,B,C,Q lines not to mention the cabs that are always driving around looking for those shoppers that indulged a bit too much and left with more bags than they can handle. They even have a parking garage available at Pathmark! It has all the stores for your basic needs. In a one-stop-shop you can get groceries from Pathmark, household items from Target, grab some lingerie for later that night at Victoria's Secret, drop off the kids at Chuck E. Cheese, grab a bite to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings, Subway, McDonalds or a snack at Cold Stone or Auntie Anne's(mmmm!!). Okay, I'm getting hungry. Moving on... What more can you ask for really? Especially in this neighborhood. When I first moved to Brooklyn not too long ago, I was not expecting to have access to stores like Marshall's or Burlington Coat Factory. I'm CURRENTLY IN Target and can definitely say I will never come back to the electronics section on the 2nd floor. There wasn't much help and why would there be when 3 tech employees are huddled together conversing about their lives instead of helping customers. At one point loud hardcore rap music started playing from the speaker section (thanks to some school kids who ran off), cursing and *igger this and that. I told the employee in my aisle "you're not going to let that keep on playing right?" To which he says that customers can test out the speakers and he couldn't really do anything about it... Target needs to start hiring people with some sense, how about CHANGING THE STATION?? It was a mess and if it wasn't for a pressing need, I'd have left without my product. read more

I've only gone here to go to Gamestop or Target. Though I have had the displeasure of being chased down by some of the vendors on the floors to try some of their nasty smelling "perfume" When I say I'm not interested, it means just that. It isn't some code for you to run after me like a psycho, unless your goal is to get completely brained by a Xbox or a shoe. Seriously, it's not my fault you chose a commission only job. But I digress: Target was ok. Though when I asked for help finding a pair of Converses, I was pointed toward a wall of mixed match and sloppily placed shoes while the "assistant" walked off. The cashier was super nice and I didn't have to wait long to check out, so that's a plus. Gamestop as a company is terrible but this store takes the cake. Not only do they have completely incompetent people working there, they also try to scam you. I got a used Xbox 360 from them which ended up having a broken disc tray. I go to return it the next day, they open it and try to tell me that I tampered with the system because the sticker was "gone". I was never shown said sticker, I just had to " take" her word for it. They refused to give me another system but said they would refund me. I thought fair enough, expecting to get my near $200 back. Fat chance. I only got $36 bucks because they had to "send it in for repairs". Fucking retarded. A time earlier than that, I went there to sell my Elite. Mind you, this thing was brand new at the time. I only got to play it a few times, as I ended up needing to sell it for rent. Hard times came suddenly. Anyways, the "manager" (this guy is a manager somehow, yet I'm older than him?) sets it up to make sure it works. It does fine, but all of a sudden he's looking at it all hard, telling me how "dirty" it is and he was afraid fucking ROACHES were going to come pouring out of it. Like to say because I happen to be black I MUST live in the ghetto and have roaches. I wanted to slap the fucking shit out of him right there. Instead I opted to take my business to the Gamestop at Court St. When he heard that, he was then apologetic and tried to save the sell. I didn't feel like going all the way over to Court so I just sold it and my games there. I came away with $278 bucks, so there's that. I'm sticking to buying my games/systems from Amazon from now on. Target is decent, but I wouldn't go on weekends or expect any kind of real help finding anything. read more

Well the only reason why I ever get trapped into passing by this mall is because the DMV office is inside of the mall. If you are a female,be prepared and very aware.Men here are like dogs at a meat market,ready for the attack.Always on the prowl.They stand on a corner,either hustling,or advertising.From cab drivers harrasing you for a ride to others trying to persuade you into giving them you're number. I haaaate having to go to Atlantic Center. It will suck up your day and your life, no matter what you have to do there. Every single store in there, whether it is Target or Old Navy or Marshall's or whatever, is probably some bottom operation on the long list of retail chains. So construction is finally competed (fingers crossed) and the place looks great but service still sucks. On ny way out of town this morning, via LIRR and I ask a train operator if this train (on track 1) can take me to my destination because its saying its thing somewhere wise else. She said, "no" and walked away. Really? Really? A few seconds later my NY'r senses kicked in and I realized I could indeed take the train and transfer to another that could get me to west bubble fu_k. Youre telling me the conductor lady couldn't relay that information to me? Really? Smh. read more

This is the worst mall. Poorly designed and it is like a maze. The elevator was shaking violently when it got to my floor. Parking is horrendous. Took me more than an hour to leave the garage, after paying whopping 45 bucks. It is more expensive than Manhattan and at least if I park in Manhattan even in a super packed valet lot, it would not take more than 15 minutes to retrieve my car. Oh, there is nothing special in there. Just the usual stuff. Why go there and wait an hour for your car? read more

Not the greatest Mall in the wall, but it serves it's purpose. My favorite stores are Daffy's and Coldstone Creamery (shut up don't judge me). Of course Tar-jay is a wonderful place to fill bags upon bags with items we do not need but it's fun. The DSW is surprisingly big and well stocked. Children's Place and Bath and Body Works serve their purpose and are usually staffed by friendly people. All in all this mall ranks a-ok in my book which is the reason I gave it 3 stars. read more
