I've been coming to Brookfield for years with my kids. The largess of it all is unmistakably New York. My favorite are second floor seating spaces with stunning views of the harbour. Public art is unintrusive but formidable. Great for chilling any season.

Because of CANstruction, learned about Brookfield Place more than a decade ago (at least). That time, there was no underground walkway to the Oculus bec the Oculus wasn't even built yet :) Now, it is so convenient to get to and from the subway and Path trains, without worrying about the weather outside. Aside from shopping, food hall/restaurants, from inside Brookfield Place, can see nice views of outdoors and the river. Have taken photos of the cityscape, a distant view of the Statue of Liberty, the sunset on the river from the marina area. Lots of restrooms.

Dropped by here a couple weeks ago when I was in the area, hadn't been inside for a couple years so decided to check out what was new. The convenient part about getting here is that you can walk underground from the Oculus and take escalators that bring you directly into the first floor of the mall, which means it's also fairly conveniently located to catch public transportation to locations within Manhattan or to Jersey via the PATH or ferry that stops a couple blocks north along the Hudson. The mall itself looks the same, some stores have swapped out for others, overall well-maintained and clean which seems to be a standard for most Westfield properties, and still filled with high-end stores with a handful of less expensive stores mixed in. What struck me was how many stores were empty, especially on the side wings, clearly more mainstream retailers aren't drawn to this location for a reason--probably due to this mall's location along the water so far downtown--you're here basically if you live or work in the area, are a tourist or taking friends here from out-of-town. However what they do well is provide a nice space for the average person to enjoy the AC, the waterfront view, and enjoy a casual meal. While there never seems to be many people actually shopping in this mall, the food court is decently occupied during meal hours and there is never a shortage of seating. A sprinkling of coffee shops/cafes (Tartinery, Mah-za-dahr, Daily Provisions) and the Hudson Eats food court, as well as the mall-adjacent restaurants and bars along the water draw the most visitors. Options at Hudson Eats include Chopt Salads, Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar, Blackseed Bagels, Springbone Kitchen, All'Antico Vinaio, Dos Toros Taqueria, Dig, Naya, Earthbar, Carrot Express, Milu, Mighty Quinn's BBQ. On a sunny Friday afternoon almost all the outdoor seating along the water was taken, and there's a lot--enough to seat several hundred people. Plenty of company happy hours going on at Le District and PJ Clarke's next door. It's nice to walk along the waterfront in the evening, the sun can be a bit strong in the summer but the sunsets are beautiful.

Very disappointed. Overpriced even by NY standards and most if not all the food options are either poke like bowl options or gourmet pastries and coffees. Feels a tad yuppie like. An east pass.

Brookfield Place is a very nice mall with high end stores and a nice food court with many options. There are lots of coffee shops as well and is located right by the freedom tower and the Hudson River!

Wow I didn't know they had a mall in Manhattan! There was so many high name brands in there and the big opening of the palm trees with high ceilings made it feel like paradise! Stumbled upon this place because they had a can-struction display which will be shown to the public for a short time. It's amazing how they used all different colored cans to make amazing art! You gotta see for yourself to believe it!

Holidays in NYC are second to none. So much beauty to behold! Usually in the form of lights. Brookfield Place's Luminaries light display was no exception. Rainbows of color that you can control with a motion sensor box. So creative! This mall is on the newer side, but it's gorgeous. Lots of events and good things to eat. During December they had a cocktail happy hour, Santa, shopping specials and ice skating. I'm sure there was plenty more going on, but I was satisfied exploring stores, le district food court and the outdoor waterfront for a few hours. There's a direct tunnel under the roads to the world trade center and subways so you never have to go outside if the weather is harsh. Hang out in the lovely atrium stairs as long as you like. Brookfield does a great job all year round, but this time of year is extra special.

Have come to Brookfield many times since it opened many years ago. I like how it isn't too packed and you have a lot you can do. Whether you want to shop or eat at the food court upstairs or just lounge around on the staircase. The food court vendors are more high-end than normal food court spots. I've tried Springbone (clean broth) to Blue Ribbon (high-quality sushi). Everything is good, but expect to spend a pretty dollar here. The bathrooms are upstairs and are clean and spacious. The seating is large and comfortable.

I see something or someone every night who stands near the guard by the entrance, say nothing, but don't know why no one does. I mean he should respectfully change sometime, not outstay his welcome. I try to speak to the guard who pretends to speak another language than English. The fact he did that was not nice, disrespectful and if anything ever were to happen he would be a zero, not act, and we don't need that. The guards all around are good. I don't feel this one would protect us since his character is poor. I really didn't appreciate his poor judgement and he does speak English, I just didn't hear the last thing he said and he would not tell me and said he didn't speak English when we were talking in English. Crazy, as I didn't need that Attitude when I wanted to help. The guy hanging out isn't causing trouble, but he is by the edge of the elevator early at night every night. And obviously the guard is sexist because he isn't giving him the cold shoulder he gave me. One would hope when someone speaks to a guard that they would respond. I happen to have left my purse in the theater, so I went back after all, got it then when I passed him this time at 230am I walked by him as if he didn't exist because he treated me as if I didn't exist and he is there for our safety. That guard is just collecting. He is useless. I don't trust his ability to be helpful. Courtesy goes along way. He knows that man is there, fine, and now you know that guard apparently discriminates and should anything bad truly happen he would act stupid and play dumb again. I'm not playing with my life. If I speak up, I care, so if someone needs help, and they ask him, he probably would have another disturbing reaction.

Walking inside from street level, what you immediately notice is the very tall atrium the extends upward a couple stories to a wide, slightly domed sky light that provides some picturesque streams of light to illuminate the inside of building, depending on the time of day. There are stairs that wind around a column where you can ascend to get a closer view of the ceiling structure, and a birdseye view of the open floors below. Of course as with most NYC subway stations with more than a couple lines criss-crossing, make sure you're reading the signs that direct you to the correct lines headed uptown or downtown. To the uninitiated it can be confusing. As for stores inside, to name a few there's Shake Shack, Chik-fil-A, Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme, Gong Cha, a couple Irish pubs, Gateway Newsstand, a wine/liquor store, a barber shop, Duane Reade, Auntie Annie's Pretzels, a florist. Generally speaking this station is on the cleaner side compared to most.

Yeah, I might book a hotel in Santa Monica instead of the Jolly Roger in Marina del Rey (though it is eminently liveable). And I might plow through the Kohls shirts a bit more recklessly, instead of just waiting for the generous 40% clearance discounts. The place that everyone calls "Newport Mall" is not the perfect candidate for Yelp. Are you deciding between this mall and another? The food court offers several options that are quick and don't have Michelin stars but are more appealing than Chipotle. Dumpling Cafe is my favorite right now. My friends had to hang around JC for several hours while I was working and I told them they were in luck, that just beyond the office buildings was a giant mall. It's not perfect. I was fed up with movie theater talking and figured Babel at 10:40 on a Sunday night wouldn't be bad. Maybe only six people were in the house but half were on phones. But it is convenient, especially on a rainy day. Don't complain to me about the parking price since you can get here by PATH. But, tell you what, if you do wind up spending major $ in the garage, the Dumpling Cafe pork chop bowl is on me.

One of the items we purchased -- a pair of sweatpants -- had a clear factory defect. When my son put them on, one leg was much tighter than the other, making the fit completely uneven. We had removed the tag before noticing the defect, but we still had the tag with us. When I returned to the store to speak with the manager, Vanessa, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. I explained that the issue was a manufacturing defect and that I still had the tag, but she refused to even look at the problem. She told me she "didn't care what was wrong with the pants" and that because the tag was removed, they wouldn't accept a return. She even made a disrespectful comment saying I "popped the tag real ghetto," which was completely unnecessary. We paid good money for these pants, and all I wanted was a fair resolution. Ever since, we've tried contacting Snipes online and through customer service, but all we're getting is the runaround with no real help. I'm posting this review so other customers are aware. Defects happen -- that's understandable. But the way the issue was handled by Vanessa at this location was completely unacceptable. I hope Snipes addresses this, because customers deserve better.

Not sure if they had a public bathroom here but I ended up going to Whole Food across the street for the bathroom and, be warned, there was a HUGE line. Now for the market itself, they had a great variety of all food, drink, and shopping vendors. I loved the booth that sold Filipino bonbons with specialty flavors. Check the opening time which is at 11 am on some days and not all stalls are open immediately at 11 am but most of them are. There are always food items too but those areas can get very crowded. I recommend going earlier in December when there is good selection left. The service and welcome of the staff was really good this year. The value and price point is solid with many different type of high and low end items available. Bryant Park may have a little more space for shopping but Union square sometimes has different vendors. The urban spaces organizers do a good job across the space. Enjoy the holiday shopping. One commentary on 2025 visit because we go every year, I saw fewer people in some stalls. I am not sure if there is an economic impact for some people or that there are less international or domestic tourists but there may be some impacts. I remember that it has been more packed in the past since I was there on Black Friday which is normally the peak shopping time.
