I have been an infrequent visitor of Newport mall since 2015. In past decade, the mall has changed significantly for the better. It is so much more brighter and better now compared to 2015. Staff members have done a good job keeping it clean and well maintained. A lot of new and popular brands have opened their store here. It has direct passageway to the Path train station due to which gets a lot of foot traffic. The mall has three floors with top floor having the food court and AMC. The food court has some of the popular chains like Shake Shack, Chic-fil-a, Gong Cha, Panda Express and Sarku. The mall also has a Meet Fresh, Cheesecake Factory, Kura Sushi and Macy's. There are several other apparel, shoes, cosmetic and perfume stores in other two floors. The mall is spacious and open. The parking lots adjacent to the mall are not free. Depending on parking period, the parking cost ranges between $5-$20. We mainly come here when we are in JC and want to stop by Meet Fresh.

Hmmm, I actually like this mall! I'm a little surprised by the 3 star rating. I visited for the first time last weekend and I wasn't disappointed. First things first - parking is in a garage. $5 for 0-3 hours and then it goes up in increments. $8 for 3-4, $15 for 4-6, $27 for 6-24. Credit card and Apple/Google Pay are accepted. Not a fan of this money grab... it's the biggest con here. If you don't want to drive, the mall is easily accessible by public transportation. The PATH station and the Hudson-Bergen light rail system are right there. There's three floors of shopping, dining, and entertainment. It's clean, bright, and has large glass skylight ceilings to let natural lighting in. The layout isn't the best and feels like a maze... it's a bit of a headache trying to navigate through because the signage is confusing. There's a good variety of stores - you'll find both big/popular and small brands. Some notable ones are Macy's, JCPenney, Victoria's Secret, Uniqlo, H&M, Kohl's, Primark, Sephora, Pandora, MINISO, Bath & Body Works, Zara, etc. If you're looking for luxury/high-end brands, you won't find too much of that here. I'd say this mall offers more affordable options. I popped into a few stores and the employees were all very friendly. What I'm very impressed by is their food court! It's probably one of the better ones in North Jersey. They have a lot of diverse cuisine options (Indian, Latin, Korean, Japanese, Mediterranean, Vietnamese, Caribbean, Chinese, Italian), alongside a mix of popular chains and small businesses. Some of the mainstream ones are Shake Shack, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Panera, and Popeyes. I've heard concerns about crime and rowdiness, but thankfully I had a positive and peaceful experience here. I saw a decent amount of security around. If I lived in the area, I wouldn't mind having Newport as my go-to mall for my shopping needs. Since it's a little out of the way from where I live, I won't be coming often.

While the Sears is finally gone, a Primark is coming, and the rest of the mall is still quite lively, with a Uniqlo, Hollisters, a bunch of new shops and jewelry places, some new restaurants, and overall has survived well despite the malls slowly losing major tenants.

This is a decent mall with 3 floors. The first two floors are shops with some restaurants scattered while the third floor has a food court with an AMC. The mall is reasonably well maintained and clean. We frequently go here since we have AMC A-list to watch movies and it's conveniently close. Also, if you're using the PATH, the mall is conveniently across the street. The restaurant selection is OK with the usual fast food offerings in the dining pavilion, cheesecake factory, Kura sushi, Meet Fresh, Panera bread, and so on. Most bases are covered but there isn't any particular standout food venue. Kura sushi is probably the best but it is still a bit overpriced and not the best sushi option. In terms of shops, I don't usually do much in-person shopping but there seemed to be a reasonably good amount of options. There is a decent amount of security at this mall so hopefully they are able to keep the peace and keep everyone safe.

First time coming to this mall loved it open spaces. Busy but doesn't feel crowded. Really enjoyed my first time stopping by this mall.

When I moved into New Jersey back in '89, this was my first mall I visited with friends. I was at the mall last week with my partner in 8 years. The mall seemed different, brighter and nicer than I remember it. Anchored by Macy's, Kohls, JC Penney and a Sears, the mall is large, with two stories of shops and a third, top floor of eateries. The food court on the third floor has a wonderful selection of fast food places. It was nice to see this mall again as one can get here by car, light rail or the PATH train only a few minutes away.

I see something or someone every night who stands near the guard by the entrance, say nothing, but don't know why no one does. I mean he should respectfully change sometime, not outstay his welcome. I try to speak to the guard who pretends to speak another language than English. The fact he did that was not nice, disrespectful and if anything ever were to happen he would be a zero, not act, and we don't need that. The guards all around are good. I don't feel this one would protect us since his character is poor. I really didn't appreciate his poor judgement and he does speak English, I just didn't hear the last thing he said and he would not tell me and said he didn't speak English when we were talking in English. Crazy, as I didn't need that Attitude when I wanted to help. The guy hanging out isn't causing trouble, but he is by the edge of the elevator early at night every night. And obviously the guard is sexist because he isn't giving him the cold shoulder he gave me. One would hope when someone speaks to a guard that they would respond. I happen to have left my purse in the theater, so I went back after all, got it then when I passed him this time at 230am I walked by him as if he didn't exist because he treated me as if I didn't exist and he is there for our safety. That guard is just collecting. He is useless. I don't trust his ability to be helpful. Courtesy goes along way. He knows that man is there, fine, and now you know that guard apparently discriminates and should anything bad truly happen he would act stupid and play dumb again. I'm not playing with my life. If I speak up, I care, so if someone needs help, and they ask him, he probably would have another disturbing reaction.

There are stairs that wind around a column where you can ascend to get a closer view of the ceiling structure, and a birdseye view of the open floors below. Of course as with most NYC subway stations with more than a couple lines criss-crossing, make sure you're reading the signs that direct you to the correct lines headed uptown or downtown. To the uninitiated it can be confusing. As for stores inside, to name a few there's Shake Shack, Chik-fil-A, Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme, Gong Cha, a couple Irish pubs, Gateway Newsstand, a wine/liquor store, a barber shop, Duane Reade, Auntie Annie's Pretzels, a florist. Generally speaking this station is on the cleaner side compared to most.

They seemed to have the most vendors (maybe not but it seemed like it) and I really liked the layout. If you get a bit claustrophobic, this one might not be the best since everything is in a circular perimeter but it felt like the hustle and bustle added to the holiday spirit for me. Not sure if they had a public bathroom here but I ended up going to Whole Food across the street for the bathroom and, be warned, there was a HUGE line. Now for the market itself, they had a great variety of all food, drink, and shopping vendors. I loved the booth that sold Filipino bonbons with specialty flavors. They also had really great hot chocolate spots. Can you tell I love my chocolate? Overall, I really loved this market and plan to come back and visit again if I'm back during the holiday season.

There are only three feet across with some stalls while other vendors have a lot of space. The winter hat, cool decor, jewelry are always the top of the shopping list. Check the opening time which is at 11 am on some days and not all stalls are open immediately at 11 am but most of them are. There are always food items too but those areas can get very crowded. I recommend going earlier in December when there is good selection left. The service and welcome of the staff was really good this year. The value and price point is solid with many different type of high and low end items available. Bryant Park may have a little more space for shopping but Union square sometimes has different vendors. The urban spaces organizers do a good job across the space. Enjoy the holiday shopping. One commentary on 2025 visit because we go every year, I saw fewer people in some stalls. I am not sure if there is an economic impact for some people or that there are less international or domestic tourists but there may be some impacts. I remember that it has been more packed in the past since I was there on Black Friday which is normally the peak shopping time.
