I'm living temporarily in Jersey city and needed to get some birthday gifts for two very different people. I stopped in here and found so many good finds for both of them and price range was decent for both a "nicer" gift and some stocking stuffer type gifts. From candles, candy, socks, self-care goodies, mini treasures, jewelry, clothes... there's definitely something for everyone. The employee also wrapped up my gifts in individual bags (which I bought there, so cute) for me and added tissue paper, tied a little bow to them as well which took a load off my shoulder as I rushed home that day. read more

PERFECT GIFTS for Every Need! I literally cannot with how amazing this store is and how awesome their staff is! I had to quickly grab a housewarming gift for a first visit to a dear friends new house (while my grumbly husband waiting in the car). I knew the perfectly curated store ALWAYS has an impressive array of custom scented candles on their back wall (replete in an artful gift box with box of matches = PERFECT!) So I selected a delicious Olive Blossom & Hyacinth, Amazing! And on the way to the register, passed the "guys" table and found a perfect space-themed puzzle for their young son. I asked the staff if I could get individual gift bags and in a blur of ribbons and smiles, they removed gift prices & I was handed two BEAUTIFUL gifts bags, and informed "The puzzle's in the larger bag." This whole process, I kid you not, took under 5 minutes & the dumbstruck look on my husbands face when I returned to the car in 5 minutes w two perfect gift bags was MY gift! LOL ... You can find literally anything in this shop. I stop in all the time to buy myself a gift, to browse, and I ALWAYS buy Christmas gifts here. They have a range of products from baking kits to home ware (amazing candles) to jewelry to Mens and women's clothes. The curation of clothing is impeccable and they always have 2x which is perfect for my fiancé. There is something for everyone in here and you can get immersed in the store for quite a while. Kanibal is an awesome little shop in downtown JC. So great for gifts and fun finds! They have skincare products, fun kits (hot sauce and pretzel making, for example), puzzles, Sugarfina candy, clothing, and more. There's a decent menswear section as well. You can find something for everyone! They also have a section of Jersey City themed wares, which is nice to represent! During Christmas time, they have creative and relevant ornaments. Kanibal also partners with other local small businesses occasionally which is such a lovely idea. Two stores in one visit! They are super active on instagram and it's super easy to buy from them on that platform. They are constantly posting and updating what they have in stock, so you can easily see and then DM them what you'd like to order, and then venmo them to pay. This was SO convenient back in the spring when they were closed to covid. Their instagrams is updated more often than their site so I would go to there for online shopping. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. If they don't have a product you are looking for, they'll be able to suggest alternatives. GREAT option for shopping and supporting local instead of going to a big box store. read more

Such a gem in jersey city. After transplanting into JC about 4 years ago...I finally made my into a store to shop instead of finding somewhere new to eat. What a spectacular find! ...only disappointed I found it AFTER Christmas. This is truly a one stop shop for everyone and anyone on any list you may have to shop for. I find myself in here about twice a month, which may not sound like a lot, but it's huge as I usually hate to shop. I am the kind of person that only goes shopping when they absolutely need something or I need to buy a gift for someone; but I find myself walking into Kanibal & Co sometimes just to see whats new. Great selection of housewares and gifts (greeting cards), as well as accessories (jewelry, hats, small handbags), men's and women's clothes, and hip Jersey City specific products. I can't believe there is only 1 review for this place. The owners of this establishment are by far the nicest people you will ever meet. They are the foundation of Jersey City business and help everyone to succeed in the area, not just themselves. They do everything to help this community and are truly the best. The shop is now moving to a larger space and they can provide more items for everyone. Quirky items, jewelry, furniture, clothing, small items for your house and can even have people design/make furniture. My wife and i have so many items from Kanibal & Co. around the house its crazy. This is the type of store where you feel like you are home with your family. They get to know you, they appreciate you as a customer and will bend over backwards to make sure your happy. This is such an adorable boutique ship located in the heart of downtown Jersey City. Conveniently a few blocks away from the grove street path and located across the street from a citi bike rack. This store ha great candles and fun gifts. There is some clothing, accessories and jewelry along with many random fun things you would expect to find at this type of boutique. Today was the first time I visited the store with my boyfriend during the JC 'block party' featuring live music, fresh food, drinks, and give always. The store was serving Slow and Low whiskey sold in the area to try. It was absolutely delicious and made shopping extr fun. I will definitely come to this store the next time I need to find a fun gift for a friend. The prices are moderate and they have a good selection of all types of different things. read more

love this store! they have such a large selection of home, apparel and gift items. store is dog friendly (but the store has a lot of fragile items like ceramics that are at the same level as a dog, so maybe the store wouldn't be safe for a hyper doggy) and staff members are kind and helpful. they're very active and responsive on social media, which is helpful if you're curious about inventory before heading to the store. prices are reasonable and sometimes there are sales. they also offer shipping. read more

Gorgeous store with lots of beautifully random stuff - clothing, household, notebooks, xmas stuff. Their clothing is affordable. I saw dresses for under $40 and coats for around $80. Def will pass by regularly to see what new stuff they have read more

Wonderful new space with tons of well curated merchandise: vintage home decor and housewares, jersey city inspired goods (non cheesy!) like mugs and keychains, both men and women clothing (beautiful items and reasonably priced), lovely jewelry made by local artisans and jewelers. I couldn't stay long enough to get a good look at everything but will definitely be back. They also offer monthly arts and crafts workshops/classes. This is a shop that downtown jc has been needing!
