I come here for some of the stores. BJ's, Five Below, Home Deport, Lidl, JC Penny, Marshall's, Petco, Target, and TJMAXX to name a few. There are more stores and some that are long gone. Miss Michaels and Nordstrom Racks. The food court is a bit scattered and not the best options. Red Lobsters is all the way past across the parking lot. Yes. You need to walk across the parking lot which is a WALK. Apple B's which is there and find it to be the worst food. There is also Chik-fill-A (recently opened), Panera, pizza shop, and a burger place. I believe there is an Olive Gardens. Not all food stops will be together in one spot. Most all are separate and walking distance. You have the East and North side of Gateway. Large open space with many stores on both sides. I don't mind the walking, but it is a walk when you have to go from Target across the ramp to JC Penny or Petco. Not all the stores are in one location. The stores are spread out. If you can, try to do your shopping early. Don't wait past noon because the stores are crowded, long lines, and tons of traffic. My least place at the this mall is Shop Rite. You feel like you walk into a Zion every time. I have never seen a supermarket overly crowded. You can barely move your shopping cart. By the way, speaking about shopping carts, make sure you have a quarter to spare. No more free shopping carts. Must pay a quarter. I usually visit for some of the stores, but not all. It is a good open space and walk. I just avoid going at certain times of the day and weekends can be chaotic. The value of things at this location varies on what it is you are looking for. You could find good deals. How to get there? Definitely by car. There is a bus station, but good luck waiting. read more

It's nice to shop around here cause it's not as crowded for the most part and I've yet to see any muggings or people going crazy. The best part is you don't really have much people begging for money so it's rather tranquil. There's some choices for grocery shopping, clothes, food. I was visiting this area and my girls decided to stay and shop. The stores they had to offer were some stores we were familiar with. They had a nice amount of dining restaurants to choose from. Don't have any complaints about this mall. It is outdoor and seems to be divided into two areas. The other side of the mall had a big home depot. I wouldn't mind visiting again when I'm in the area. Gateway Mall is a convenient outdoor mall in Brooklyn. It's great for a variety of stores, including clothing, shoes, sneakers food. Pretty much your name it they've got it. I love to go to the target there which is very convenient also to the Nordstrom rack, which is always well stopped and organized. There's parking available on both sides of the mall and a walkway, which makes it easy to walk between the two different sides of the wall. There are lots of different restaurants from red lobster to outback to Olive Garden to choose from. And also smaller eateries like Panera And a pizzeria. They also have stores like Bath & body Works and five and below to get home where items. The only store that I don't like is JCPenney, which has terrible service and you can read about in another review. read more

Large shopping center to get everything you need in one area. My family went from food grocery to retail shopping easily. There are some dining options here if you get hungry. Panera for soups/sandwiches or check out Smashburgers for some good burgers. I have been here some years ago and it has changed over the years. The place reminds me of a outlet center. There are many stores to shop from. I am at this mini outside mall all the time shopping at least six different stores. it's very convenient and close to my home. I spend a decent amount of money at the stores here for different types of merchandise. If you do not drive or live around the neighborhood this is not the place for you. I first had come here back in 2008 as the best shopping option rather than taking your time to go to city but still was about $20 by cab so it was not rational much :) Recently I have been here couple of times with my brother on his way to office. There is Target with Starbucks in but always lined up. Bath and beyond, Home depot, petco, etc. and there are dine options such as Olive Garden which also has wait for tables most of the time but in general this complex center is quite okay considering the number of the stores, parking space and distance to Midwood. read more

This is cool and very convenient mall in the community that has been maintained over the years. It recently expanded with additional stores and a huge supermarket and its great to see my old neighborhood being uplifted and providing jobs for residents. But like any other shopping area, it gets cray cray on the weekends and/or holidays and I try to avoid the area like the plague. Sooo many cars trying to get in and out and it can be a hassle. Forget about trying to get something to eat in one of the restaurants on the weekend, long waits. Overall I love being able to drive to Target and/or Best Buy for something quick. Its definitely worth checking out especially with the free parking. There is also a public bus that stops in the immediate area and seems like a short walk to the shops. read more

Terrible customer service! I brought my mom shoes for Christmas , the shoe size did not fit her, I went to champs Sports to exchange the shoes the lady that attended me, was so rude and when I asked for the shoes that my mom wanted, anther customers came in and asked for the same shoes that my mom wanted she went to the back to look for the shoes and she gave the pairs of shoes to the other customer and told me and my mom That was the last pair! This is currently my most loved location for shopping. I used to go to Kings Plaza to shop because it was the most convenient place for me. It was close and has many shops. Unfortunately, the recent changes made to the mall made it hard for me to find things I like. My sister decided to drive a little farther and we found the Gateway Center. Its great! It is not too far, has a great parking lot, a variety of food, and many places to shop at. Majority of the shops and restaurants here offer great service. I highly recommend this place for people living around the area (especially lazy people like myself). Why bother traveling far into Manhattan or even farther to Queens or NJ when you have something so close haha. read more

Right off the Belt Parkway and huge parking lot. This place gets very busy during peak hours. On the front side, there is a Home Depot, Target, Best Buy, BJ's, Marshall's Babies R Us, Bed Bath and Beyond, and I think a few more. There's also a Red Lobster and Olive Garden and a Long Horn Steakhouse?. The other side now has a Bank of America(with drive thru), Shop Rite, Buffalo Wild Wings, Burlington Coat, Raymand Furniture, Game Stop, Aldi, Petco, Smashed Burgers, JC Penny, GNC, DSW, Nordstrom Rack, Apple Bee's, and a bunch more. TONS of Parking. It's busy though during Peak Hours. I never have a problem finding a spot. It may be a little further from the store but you can always find a spot. read more

This place is kinda wack but it is easy to get to from my neighborhood. It is on that BROOKLYN-Queens border so you can get there super easy even from my neighborhood of Queens, near JFK airport. The Home Depot is one of the easiest around to get to especially when you are rolling with someone with wheels. Best Buy is there too, and is always crowded. There is also an Olive Garden here, you can get your generic italian eating on. You know what is here also, don't even get me started on the Red Lobster here. Always, Always packed this place is and I remember the wait being 3 hours this one time I really was looking forward to some Red Lobster food and Cheese biscuits of course, but refused to wait that long. It's a mall with stores and restaurants. They are expanding right now to bring in a Shop Rite and a furniture store among other things. The speed bumps and stop signs are on the wrong place, they aren't at the correct distance from the crosswalks. read more

I remember driving by what use to be a dump on the belt parkway and was pleased to see what it has become. The mall has a good selection of stores and parking for days. Just don't park closer to shoprite on a busy weekend, you'll never find a spot. There's a good selection of stores. I have my choices of favorites, shopping is easier during the weekdays as it gets crowded on weekends like any other mall I really liked what they did for the neighborhood Hopefully there's more to come If u haven't been to the gateway mall it's worth visiting ...right off the belt parkway and there's stores in the back of the mall as well. read more

I love coming here since the expansion. I mainly stay on the new side of the outdoor mall. It's the prettiest and easiest to navigate. I love that there's a bus stop on this side and there are lots of lovely stores and two supermarkets and some higher end and discount stores for everyone. I come shopping here at least once a month and just walk around and enjoy the shops and the open space. They have a food court in a sense that there are like 3 restaurants all in the same place. I think's it Panera, a burger place and a pizza place but there's also Applebee's, Red Lobster and the like located on the property. When I don't feel like going to Queens Center or Queens Place, I come here and it's always a nice time. read more

I come here for Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, BJ's, and Home Depot. The center is expanding with a second phase of construction that will include J.C. Penney, DSW, ShopRite, Raymour & Flanigan and more. It's really convenient being right off the Belt Parkway and with lots of parking, but that huge parking lot gets pretty packed. For those who take taxis, there are guys who hang out near Target and BJ's. You can hitch a ride at your own risk. They're not all legit and some will quote you some ridiculous prices. Last time I was here, I locked my keys in my trunk and couldn't get a proper cab when I called. Flustered and waiting for my friend to pick me up, I went to the restroom at BJ's and was about to get upset with the guy who walked in with his kid to pee at the urinals, which I had completely missed. Um, they were in the right bathroom. I was in the wrong one. Another time at BJ's I confronted someone who I thought had stolen my cart. My cart was actually in the next aisle ... where I left it. Apparently, this is where I go to lose my mind. Other than my hijinks, this is a pretty standard strip mall that always seems to have ridiculously long lines at Target with too few cashiers. This is a true definition of a strip mall. There is a huge parking lot for your parking convenience. Getting here is fairly easy, it's right off the Belt PKWY, you can't miss it. Getting there via bus might be more difficult, depending on where you're traveling from. This strip mall has a pretty decent store selection. I always liked the mall, even when it was much smaller. Now it's pretty top notch since they've added an entire group of new stores at the back of the old mall running its entire length. This Shop Rite is probably the best supermarket in the borough. It has a small food court/lunch bar and a Duncan Donuts where where a simple hot meal can be obtained. The worst thing to do is food shop hungry. Now you can have a bite to eat first. Gets very crowded on weekends. Make sure you have a quarter on hand because you need it to release a Shop Rite cart. Of course you get the quarter back, but it's annoying when I can't find a quarter and have to ask an employee to free a cart for me. If you want to have a more traditional sit-down meal there is an Applebee's and a Buffalo Wings just opened. I've eaten at both and they are what you would expect - good. I've enjoyed shopping and also browsing in the J.C. Penney's, Micheal's (crafts), T.J. Max, Petco, and Pier One. Pier One is an oasis of calm and beauty for me. I purchased the most exquisite hand crafted ornament there before Christmas, and fantastic earrings. Love to browse there as well. As others have mentioned, the parking lot can get crazy, but I've never had a difficult time finding a parking spot close to whatever store I chose to enter. Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Famous Footwear are my favorites among the original stores (facing the highway). I have a wide foot but can always find something that fits comfortably, looks good, and doesn't break the bank at Famous Footwear. Not the best of malls, but it is convenient. Those who do malls in our Tri-State area, know that Jersey and some parts of LI are much, much better for full malls. You'll find big name brands/retailers here, including a (super)-Target, Best Buy, and Home Depot. These are really the only stores I like to frequent whenever I have to visit this mall (as I can get better options with the other stores elsewhere in the city). If you're tired after all that shopping, and want to sit and grab a bite, then I'd recommend the Olive Garden over anything else in this place (though the Target does have some minor fast-food options in there). But as you know, that's not really saying much to begin with, lol! Over all, it isn't a bad place...but it can be better. The one plus is that it's convenient for Ozone Park all the way to mid-BK, for mass-shopping needs. read more

Needed a car charger when I was in the area one day and saw that there were 3 stores here where I could have gotten them from. Once going in, I noticed all the other stores and fell in love. Definitely a place to visit when you have some time and a bit of money to spend. Loads of parking and right next to the highway. Awesome place! read more

I don't like this Mall, because the stores are not connected like a regular Mall. As a result, each store is separate from the others, so when you're done with one store, you have to leave it and go to the other. There is also more than one building, so sometimes it can be a 3-4 minute walk to get to the other building. I most likely wont be back. P.S. The two positives of this place is Pizza Studio (their pizza is delicious) and the amazing Jamaican security guard that was on duty the first time I went to this Mall. None of the taxi services I called were available to take my mom and I back to our Apartment and my mom and I started to become afraid since it was night. This gentleman secured a taxi for us and calmed our fears that we had of NYC at night. He is a gem and should be treasured by his employer(s). read more

WOW WOW WOW, I must say that the place has a whole different look and for the time I was at the new complex I didn't feel like I was in East NY and more like EAST NY, like Long Island NY. The new lineup of stores, the architecture and feel reminded me of shopping at the outlets. like the new selection stores are good and the same goes for the fact that they have a Panera and Smashburger. There was ample parking and frequent patrol by mall security. I also love the fact that they have speakers attached to many, or all the stores and you are treated to music while you walk from store to store. You can get a lot of shopping done here for lots of different things. I mainly go for Target, Shoprite and Jcpenney but there are so many other good stores, so many that I haven't gotten to them all including Michaels, Five Below, GNC, Sally's Beauty, Aldi's, Gap, Staples, etc. There are a few restaurants as well including Buffalo Wild Wings and Smashburger. There are definitely way more stores and restaurants than I've listed, so check out their website or give them a visit to see. The parking is usually pretty good even though it can get crowded on weekends and holidays. It's nice to have all these stores in one place and not have to go all the way to the other side of Queens, Brooklyn or LI. You get all different types of people here coming from Brooklyn and Queens since it's only a 10-15 minute drive from Ozone Park/Howard Beach and there are a few buses that come here as well. read more

Having lunch with my Grandson at Panera Bread and he asked me if he could have the Lobster Sandwich l. At first, the price threw me because it was $15.00! But since I offered to take him out, I got it for him AND . IT'S DELICIOUS so, I would highly recommend it. read more
