Walkway between the two sides of the mall
    Cortney W.

Gateway Mall is a convenient outdoor mall in Brooklyn. It's great for a variety of stores, including clothing, shoes, sneakers food. Pretty much your name it they've got it. I love to go to the target there which is very convenient also to the Nordstrom rack, which is always well stopped and organized. There's parking available on both sides of the mall and a walkway, which makes it easy to walk between the two different sides of the wall. There are lots of different restaurants from red lobster to outback to Olive Garden to choose from. And also smaller eateries like Panera And a pizzeria. They also have stores like Bath & body Works and five and below to get home where items. The only store that I don't like is JCPenney, which has terrible service and you can read about in another review.

I am at this mini outside mall all the time shopping at least six different stores. it's very convenient and close to my home. I spend a decent amount of money at the stores here for different types of merchandise. I'm so glad that they built this mall near me so between Gateway 1 and Gateway 2 I've got just about everything needed.

I love this shopping mall. If you need something and don't want to travel far, then this is definitely the place for you. I love the new renovated look of Gateway Center. There are so many stores to suit your every need. This is the best thing in East New York right now.

It's a mall with stores and restaurants. They are expanding right now to bring in a Shop Rite and a furniture store among other things. The speed bumps and stop signs are on the wrong place, they aren't at the correct distance from the crosswalks.

I remember driving by what use to be a dump on the belt parkway and was pleased to see what it has become.

This outdoor…read moremall is located in Glendale and consists of 5 main buildings with a green plaza-type area in the middle. Stores are located on ground, first and second floors, there are some commercial office spaces too. Parking is available for a fee in either structures or in the spaces directly in front of the stores. There are a fair number of stores for what is essentially a glorified strip mall, it's not quite large enough to make it a serious shopping destination, more of a come-by-for-specific stores kind of place. Of the approximately 50 businesses here, a dozen are commercial offices, another dozen service/utility stores (doctors offices, glasses store, UPS, T-mobile), a Regal Cinemas movie theater, a couple hobby stores (anime/manga, games, Bee's Arts & Crafts), several food/drink spots, some apparel/accessories stores (Foot Locker, Forever 21, TJ Maxx, White House/Black Market, Sacca's Suits), a few sports facilities (swim school, NY Sports Club, karate school, laser tag/bounce family fun center) and two home furnishing stores (Home Goods and Ashley Furniture). Probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here though I can see how it's convenient to have these store nearby for those that live in the area. There is a fun 3-story tall street art mural of a boy with big ears on one of the parking structure outer walls.

There's a Chili's, CPK, Pot Noodle, Subway, Don Nico (Mexican) as well as an Auntie Anne's, Mr. Cow's Corndogs, Starbucks, Cold Stone (ice cream) & Hokkaido Cheese Tarts. Not to mention, the biggest T.J.Maxx & Five Below I've ever been to in NY. There's also a HomeGoods, Laser Bounce (arcade), Slime Time, Ulta, Footlocker, an arts & crafts studio, movie theater and a few toy stores. Can definitely be a fun time with kids- the girls even played frisbee & volleyball on the synthetic grass, got bubble tea from Pot Noodle, which was surprisingly good and won some prizes from Laser Bounce too. Not an ideal place for clothing shopping and the parking was quite expensive- $30 for 4 hours but either way, we'll be back :)

Terrible customer service. The MANAGER does not care about their employees AT ALL. I've never seen…read moreor heard a terrible manager at all in my life. She makes up lies to get people fired. Scheduling them for days but telling them not to come in and saying they "called out". On top of that, even if you show receipts that she's lying, that just gets her more mad on top of that. She refused to provide proof on her end. Heaven forbid you tell her she's wrong and she's trying to put lies on your record thus wasting your time. She just cursed out her employees and is extremely racist and inappropriate. Dollar tree do a better job in hiring managers because Marlese or however you spell her name is not for that job. Setting employees up and then cursing at them is completely disrespectful and disappointing. No one should have to work in an environment like that. Beware when you guys go here because the manager Marlese is extremely rude and will fight over any little thing. Be kind to your employees MARLESE.

The main issue here is that the few times I have gone into the store the single cashier line is long and lots of time is spent on it. Recently, the line was very long a usual. There was another staff member, a young man placing bottled drinks on a shelf. He saw the line growing by the minute and he was not motivated to open another cash register to alleviate the problem. I do not know if he was not trained as a cashier or it was a single mindless of I am doing something and until I am finish I can not do anything else. Customers start getting impatient and sometimes they lash out at the poor woman cashier. The ladies have always been sweet and courteous with the customers. Manager needs to be aware of this situation which is a constant happening at this store.

If you grew up in NYC, chances are you've been to the Coliseum at least once in your life. And if you haven't, you truly missed out. It's not what it used to be, and now it's officially closed but the memories will live on forever. I used to work at the Hall of Fame, where we sold magazines, CDs, and DVDs. If it was part of the music industry, we had it. Right next door was Julian printing custom T-shirts. Black house studios where music was created. There were sneaker spots, Sammy selling leather coats and clothing, jewelry vendors, perfume and cologne booths, and of course the food court. You couldn't walk through without hearing music, seeing fashion, and feeling culture. From the Jamaican beef patty spot to the hat stores, the Coliseum wasn't just a mall it was a community. I did most of my school shopping here because we were able to negotiate prices. It was a place where people hustled, connected, and created memories. It's especially heartbreaking knowing future kids won't get to experience what we experienced growing up. The Jamaica Coliseum will truly, truly be missed. There will be one last celebration on the Ave on February 21st from 12 PM to 5 PM. If you're reading this, don't miss your final chance to experience Jamaica Ave the way we all remember it. Thank you, Jamaica Coliseum, for everything.

RIP Jamaica Colosseum mall…read more I wrote an article about its closure. Growing up in Brooklyn, most of my mall memories come from Kings Plaza. From what I've seen and reported, that place always had a huge range--budget-friendly spots right next to higher-end stuff, tons of selection, and services that actually felt worth it. I talked to a bunch of vendors there, and they were straight-up neighborly and friendly. You had everything: the food court, fresh jackets, shoes, jewelry, you name it. A real wide variety of things all under one roof. And now it's all gone.
