I came to spend time and shop at this mall with my 10 year son and one year old daughter…read moreyesterday, everything was fine until this old lady came and literally push my daughter, she then proceeded to hit me because I confronted her, then the two other people who were with her jump in to try and attack me, I had to chase them out to with my two kids to get their plate number to get a report from the police, all the way to Walmart when I was trying to do that they then proceeded to move their vehicle as I was trying to take a picture, keep in mind I had the dispatcher on the phone while these people were getting away after assaulting a baby and a mother of two, the police didn't respond right away and the security we're just standing around doing nothing, the security manager didn't seen to care over what just occurred, and seen unfazed or unbothered, I explain to him that my daughter was push and I was jump and no sense of caring, they didn't even bother to look at the cameras. The cop was being dismissive tag 2125 and didn't even care, I had witnesses who saw the whole thing and he was being to the two lady's saying to mind their own business, bad experience please don't bring your kids here because this mall is not safe for anyone especially kids. The lady with the grey shirt told the officer that I scratched her and the play the victim when she in fact was the aggressor went on top of me and I had to defend myself and the cop believed her side of the story

This mini mall has been around for decades I remember when the movie theater was at this location…read morewith and OTB , and they tore it down to put up the mini mall. I have been here so many times for years .I usually go to the hardware store this shop has been in this mall since they opened up.it is a mom and pop kinda shop that has a variety of supplies there. I go there for bike inner tubes .and anything from screwdrivers to keys being made you name it this little spot has it .any thing for home supplies, the staff is very friendly. And you have OBs bakery for some good west indies pastries. And one of my favorite Chinese restaurant yummy garden. That has been there for ever.you also have other restaurant there,Jay's restaurant, and another Chinese restaurant, all right there.and dont forget about right aid store.they also have a pretty large parking lot there. You also hav bed bath and beyond and quiet a few clothing shops like rainbows. And a chase bank is located in the mall.they also have a post office located right there. And a key foods supermarket. That I have been going to for years shout out to a friend of mine who worked over in this key for years Robert. So for the community who live in rochdale this mini mall is more then a plus. If they dont really want to go far you have a mini mall right there in your development cool.so this mall may not be one of the biggest but it serves it purpose in Jamaica queens for those who live there. Or for some of us just passing by.

Jamaica Coliseum Mall has been a staple for as long as I can remember not just for Queens, but for…read moreLong Island, Brooklyn, the Bronx... honestly, every borough of New York. If you grew up in NYC, chances are you've been to the Coliseum at least once in your life. And if you haven't, you truly missed out. It's not what it used to be, and now it's officially closed but the memories will live on forever. I used to work at the Hall of Fame, where we sold magazines, CDs, and DVDs. If it was part of the music industry, we had it. Right next door was Julian printing custom T-shirts. Black house studios where music was created. There were sneaker spots, Sammy selling leather coats and clothing, jewelry vendors, perfume and cologne booths, and of course the food court. You couldn't walk through without hearing music, seeing fashion, and feeling culture. From the Jamaican beef patty spot to the hat stores, the Coliseum wasn't just a mall it was a community. I did most of my school shopping here because we were able to negotiate prices. It was a place where people hustled, connected, and created memories. It's especially heartbreaking knowing future kids won't get to experience what we experienced growing up. The Jamaica Coliseum will truly, truly be missed. There will be one last celebration on the Ave on February 21st from 12 PM to 5 PM. If you're reading this, don't miss your final chance to experience Jamaica Ave the way we all remember it. Thank you, Jamaica Coliseum, for everything.

RIP Jamaica Colosseum mall…read more I wrote an article about its closure. Growing up in Brooklyn, most of my mall memories come from Kings Plaza. From what I've seen and reported, that place always had a huge range--budget-friendly spots right next to higher-end stuff, tons of selection, and services that actually felt worth it. I talked to a bunch of vendors there, and they were straight-up neighborly and friendly. You had everything: the food court, fresh jackets, shoes, jewelry, you name it. A real wide variety of things all under one roof. And now it's all gone.
