Many moon ago before your time, Queens Place Mall was the actual Queens Center Mall with Macy's and lots of thriving businesses. It was the hub for all the locals and residents in the vicinity. Today many stores have closed down. DSW has closed down and Lidl will be opening in 2024. Target, Best Buy, Back Stage Macy's, Macy's furniture are still here. There are few eateries here. I just come here for the Target and to pick up meds at CVS. It's easier to pay in the parking lot than on the street. Meter parking can add up. Tried to take photos to post with this review but the security guard shooed me away and told me not to take any photos. read more

It's a simple mall with the right stores. Best Buy, a mattress store, Target and Macy's backstage are here. You'll find delicious smelling stands like Mrs. FIelds. Parking in the area is okay. Be aware if you come at night you have to pay the meter until 10 pm, not 7 pm like other streets in Queens. Target closes late around ten\eleven while the other stores close between 8-9. read more

Recently, I drove to Queens Place Mall and was let up the ramp without getting a ticket. When it was time to leave, I was told I had to pay with my phone! I do not yet trust the security on those apps and refused to download one. I had to repeat my refusal (and offer to pay with other, normal means of payment), several times. I will not be going to that mall again which is a shame because I used to frequent the Target there. What if you don't have a phone? Or, you have a flip phone? Boy, this mall doesn't seem to get alot of love. Though I don't shop at most of the stores here, I'm grateful to have Target, Best Buy, & Macy's Furniture not too far away; I also, enjoy the Teriyaki One that's a relative new tenant. There's parking on the roof of the building; I'm pretty sure it's paid parking. It's weird if you try to google QPM's website, it'll take you straight to Target's website. Their Facebook page seems to highlight just several of the businesses there, which doesn't help the ones not mentioned. It's not really a shopping mall, as it's more like a blown up version of a strip mall. The little brother to the real Queens Center Mall a few minutes down the road. This place is like a watered down version of Queens Center Mall (which is two blocks away). Best stores are probably Target and Best Buy. Food wise, there's Red Lobster, Cold Stone Creamery, Gong Cha, Mrs. Fields and Teriyaki One (recently opened). Gone is the Dunkin Donuts stall that used to be near the entrance (there's one in QCM though) I'm not too sure what they're trying to do with the now large vacant space that's by the entrance way...it's feels so empty and could use some chairs and tables or just something to fill it up. I have been coming to this mall for years ..me and my wife shopping at target and stopping off at one of my favorite technology stores best buy wow for some new tech to add to my collection. This place has become somewhat of a pastime for us shopping here especially during the holidays with the decorations and oniments..along with the Christmas music and Christmas tree. It is such a good feeling shopping at the mall during the holidays .going to jc Penney or victor secret on if my wife's favorite places . These are some good memories in this particular mall .that makes shopping together here more memorable .after stopping at a few more spots like urban outfitters. We have gotten a little hungry and now we going to one our favorite restaurant in queens place mall red lobster. This is were we come after shopping all the time to get some of those famous red lobster biscuits. Along with Meal and sit down and enjoy our selves for a few hours. My daughter and I have lots of happy memories coming to this shopping center before the Target opened in East Harlem. We would also shop in Daffey's a discount store that has long ago closed its doors. The DSW is huge. The selection is great. I've still got my Italian Leather Dress Boots I bought there. We usually browsed around Best Buy too. Handy location if we needed something. After shopping our meal was always at Outback Steak House. It was our favorite Outback location in NYC. Sad to say we rarely shop at this center any longer. We head to the huge Mall a couple stops away. I think it may be time soon to return to see any changes. Queens Place Mall is a medium size mall. It's not as large or as interesting as nearby Queens Center Mall. They don't seem to have a website. The directory in the mall listed 16 stores. The mall isn't particularly fun to wander or explore. There are 6 total floors. Some of the escalators were broken. There's Wi-Fi but I didn't use it since there's an annoying spam sign up process. I didn't see any bathrooms, but there are some inside the Target. There are a few restaurants, but most didn't have seating. The mall isn't exactly near a subway station. The little sad brother of Queens Mall has a bone to pick with the rest of the society of NYC shoppers. Yes, it knows it is lesser, but somehow still strives for mediocrity by highlighting its imperfections instead of hiding them (fixing them would be a whole 'nother story). It's amazing how Queens Place is still around despite a growing list of issues that continually plague most shoppers. First off, the place is foul. As in, not clean. It's understandable that when masses of people frequent a place, there is bound to be some nastiness with public toilets, window prints, disorganization in the stores, etc. It's possible Queens Place Mall just doesn't have the staff to keep it up, which means the pigsty adventures are likely to continue. Doors are sometimes stuck, elevators / escalators are more often malfunctioning than not, and on multiple occasions the floor seems to be sticky. That sticky sound when people step in something gross? That's where I start drawing the line. Forget about the blemishes, how about the retail selection? Beyond Target (http://www.yelp.com/biz/target-elmhurst) it's all downhill from there. The line is a bloated, depressing bunch that consists of watered down flagship joints like DSW, Outback, Best Buy, Daffy's, and Sleepy's Mattress. They might not seem that low on the retail totem pole, but this groupage is less stellar than it looks. Teens and malls go together like peas and carrots. The ones that hang out here aren't always there to shop, but loitering seems to be a much likelier goal. It's not enough to deter me from going to the mall, but it's sort of like going to Times Square at night. Some kids just aren't there for the bright lights and touristy vibes. People watching without the worry of being forced out by any semblance of any actual mall security. It wasn't always like this. It was a vibrant Macy's many decades ago on Queens Blvd, one that later morphed into the Macy's Furniture Gallery. I rushed over here so that I might find a pair of strappy sandals for an upcoming wedding. There was a really good sale at Aldo and the one by me didn't have anymore of the shoes I wanted in my size but they called the Aldo in this mall and the manager held them for me. I had to pick them up within twenty-four hours. The mall is pretty big and on this particular day there were many shoppers. It was very crowded. There are just way too many unsupervised kids roaming around, acting rambunctious. Some days I'm an old lady and I like to complain. What?! Under any other circumstance I would have walked around but this day, the ambiance of the mall made me want to get what I came for and leave as quickly as possible. I had to try and remember the path I took to get to Aldo because I'm guessing I parked in an adjacent mall's parking lot, so I had to take an elevator down to the street level and then cross the street to enter the part I needed to be in. It was a little confusing. I don't think I would go back just because of convenience but I would definitely go if they carried the one piece that would complete an OOTD. read more

This mall makes me sad. The outside architecture dupes you into thinking it's going to be so much cooler on the inside. It's a giant circle! Right next to the Vulcan High Command bank! Alas the bank is closed and covered in graffiti, and the inside of this mall is downright depressing. The Daffy's on the first floor has been closed for well over a year now. That gaping hole of retail space and the fact that there's still a Best Buy in here makes me suspect that this place is doomed. The Target provides the majority of the traffic. Because the Sketchers outlet sure isn't a draw. Well, not since Heelys went out of style. The only time you see a crowd is during Mother's Day, when there are lines to get into Red Lobster and Outback Steakhouse. Hey, 12 year-olds need someplace fancy to take mom on her special day. And who doesn't love tiny bread encrusted all-you-can-eat shrimp??? Okay, I'm not going to hate on Red Lobster too much. The Cheddar Bay biscuits are still great. Since I'm no business major, I honestly don't know what this mall can do to make itself more attractive. I haven't been drawn to a mall just to mill about since I was a teen. But for the love of God don't open another Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic! We are at saturation point already. If you are a fast walker, and usually walk up even if you're on the escalator, this mall is going to piss you off. There are only two escalators, one up and one down, and about 2 elevators (which take forever to come). This mall is poorly designed and ineffcient when foot traffic moves, you will be bottlenecked and befriend the person standing infront or behind you. But once you get to the store after spending like forever on the escalators, the stores are actually good, target for your food and household needs, and bestbuy for your entertainment and electronic cravings. But the mall itself is horrible and after you make your purchases, you just want to get the F out of there. Sort of a mini mall a few blocks away from Queens Center Mall. A circular building that has a decent selection of stores. Target, Best Buy, DSW, Outback Steakhouse, Cold Stone, and a few others. For me this place is a little bit of an after thought being right next to the Queens Mall. The Target here is two levels and the Best Buy store is pretty big. There is paid parking here which is great they have parking but sucks that you have to pay. Parking is obviously a premium in this area but still a bum out. Besides driving, plenty of buses run along Queens Blvd and the Woodhaven stop or the Grand Ave stop off of the R are both a few blocks away. read more

I've been here many times, but for whatever reason, the whole set up of this mall got under my skin today. It's totally retarded. The stores are ok, but outside of the stores there is NO seating. I could have really used a seat due to my sciatica. This is the second time being here, that I used the first parking machine, that would not work, told me both credit cards were no good. Thank goodness the smaller one right next to it was working. Also Machine looks to complicated. I don't have time to read damn thing when the pain in my leg was pumping. I want to get in and out. The star of this mall for me is the Best Buy on the 2nd floor and the Target occupying the 3rd and 4th floors. Oh and there's a Dunkin Donuts kiosk on the ground floor. Those are the only three places I visit whenever I come here. They also have lots of clothing and shoe store options. There's an Outback and a Red Lobster inside but I haven't tried the food options. I'm sure if this mall weren't so close to the more popular Queens Center Mall, it'd be scored higher due to the Target being here but for me, that's the only really redeeming feature of this place. Black Friday at Queens Place Mall is a total hot mess! The weather seemed nice so we took a walk from Woodside to this mall to check out some Black Friday Deals at DSW and Target. First, we went into DSW. We took the elevator because we came with our 14 month old son in a stroller. there's two elevators and my god they are the slowest elevators on earth!!! We waited nearly 5 minutes for the elevator to reach the 1st floor so that we can take it to the basement level to DSW. When we arrived at DSW, there were barely any sales, the store was a wreck, and non-english speaking families kept asking about price and sizes. I'm wearing a red flannel shirt! Do I look like I work here???!! After less than 5 minutes in DSW, we wanted to leave but we couldn't leave fast enough thanks to the elevator. There are two elevators in the first floor but only one of them goes to the basement! So this one elevator took nearly 10 minutes to come down to the basement. We were waiting along with another family whom also had a baby and a stroller and we barely fit into the crammed elevator. What really ticked me off were those who didn't even have strollers took up space in the elevator when they could of easily access each floor of this mall by using the escalator. Next, we made our way to Target's top floor. And already, I could see the madness. We took a quick stroll around the store. I went to browse the mobile phones in the electronics department and got into a confrontation with one of its employees. Target had a section of the electronics department closed off by the register. I went over to check the phones and the guy pushes me out of his section saying I cannot be here. I then ask him how else am I suppose to look at their phone display? from 30 feet away? Then folks on line accused me of cutting the line when I didn't even have anything in my hands to purchase. So by now, I've already had enough. Last but not least, on our way out, we accidentally bumped our stroller into a woman in front of us and both me and my wife apologized several times for the accident and she kept going off on us. Even when we walked 10 feet past her, I can still her yapping so I completely lost it. I went back and gave her a piece of mind and left the store. This mall during Black Friday was a complete nightmare of a experience. The elevators must be improved and the people who come here are just super nasty people. I am not shocked at all the mediocre reviews for this mall. When I visit this mall I am generally heading to DSW on the lower level or Target and Best Buy on the upper levels. I love the Target in this mall minus the parking fees. There are a lot of stores that come and go in this mall. I am loving the new Macy's Backstage and let just see how long it survives. You got Red Lobster that's decent and nasty Outback. What I love about this mall is that its in close proximity to Queens Center Mall so if you cant find what you need in this small shopping center you can walk 5 minutes to a plethora of shops and restaurants. woo hoo read more

Parking is tough on the street but there is a parking garage. Just know you have to pay for it though. It's like $4 for up to 2 hours. And it goes up from there. This mall has a target which is 2 floors large, a best buy, DSW on the whole lower level, a Macy's furniture store and a Macy's backstage store( love all the deals in here!) There is also a couple of other smaller clothing stores. There is a sketches as well. For food, there's an Outback stake house, Ref lobster, a cookie store and a dunkin Donuts. In side of this small is a Spring store. There are many options here. I usually go to this small because of the Target. I'm in there more than I need to be. This Mall was originally a Macy's, which encompassed the entire space. Macy's has since moved down the block to the much more popularly located Queens Center Mall. This Mall has a very sad vibe to it, like businesses teetering on the border of closing. The layout is poor and signs indicating where stores, elevators or escalators are located are in very short supply. The only place here that's worth going to is Target. They use to have an Outback Steakhouse which I usually went to as well but they closed a few months ago. There's a DSW, Macy's backstages, and Best Buy here as well. The DSW can be a hit or miss finding something you like. The Macy's backstage is also a huge mess finding anything in your size.
