I can't thank Atlantic Automotive enough for taking care of me last week. I was in St. Augustine on vacation and woke up to a dead battery. One of the hotel staff recommended their shop and I'm so glad they did. I called the shop and even though it was a very busy day for them, they said they could get me in and out. I took the car over, had the battery replaced, and we were back in the road in no time. I really appreciate them squeezing us in so our vacation day wasn't shot. Atlantic Automotive SAVED ME with just a brief window of time for repairs. I drove in from Louisiana (8.5 hour drive) and my AC stopped working between point A and B. Initially we thought it only needed a charge so the team agreed to take it in and get it done in the few days before my return trip. It turned out that the whole AC needed to be replaced! They managed to get the parts in and make the repairs just in time! They also replaced a ball joint. The bottom line is that they went above and beyond to get it done for someone that might not even be a repeat customer since I'm from out of state. They were so friendly and patient with explaining everything to me. 10/10 recommend! I was recently visiting St Augustine, and my radiator was going bonkers. Sadly, this all happened late on a Thursday. Atlantic Automotive was recommended to me. I called on Friday morning, but they were beyond booked. Stephanie was extremely helpful and gave me some names of others who were good in the area. I had no luck getting in anywhere, so had to take it to a chain. The quote was very high. I called Stephanie again, and she bent over backwards to try and help me. She gave me an estimate, which was MUCH more reasonable, and actually tried to fit me in on a day when the shop was closed. I never actually brought my van to them, and had it towed to a friend's who is now doing the work, but Atlantic Automotive was the absolute best!!! I thank you all for trying so hard to help me, and since I will be spending more time in your area in the future, I hope to send you lots of business! read more

We got a nail in our tire on the way into town on Sunday. On Monday we called around and only Atlantic Automotive was willing to work us in that morning to plug the tire. They were friendly and efficient, with fair prices. Can't ask for better than that. read more

UPDATED Sadly, I must adjust my review. The manager they have does NOT treat you the same way that I used to be treated by the owner (he retired). Not having had interaction with the manager until yesterday (had recently only dealt with admin and mechanics) I am reducing the rating drastically. Had plugs and coils replaced and had to return car twice due to bad coil. Dropped off for new battery and when picked up none of my dash lights worked nor my turn signals. Had to turn around. Was a fuse but point is the car was not checked to make sure all was good prior to me picking it up. The manager is very condescending and talks over you. Both myself and my husband were very upset by the time we hung up. Sad that this establishment used to be run very differently. Do not recommend, especially to women. read more

They don't know how to work on vehicles. Their communication sucks. They charge 300.00 for no diagnostic reason for the car and recommended taking it elsewhere after keeping car for two days. The car ran when you take it there and won't run after two days of having it. read more

Once again, Atlantic Automotive delivers! My Rover broke down on the way back from Jacksonville Airport on Monday afternoon. By Wednesday morning, she was fixed and ready to roll. It wasn't a simple fix, unfortunately for my pocket book as Land Rovers aren't cheap in general but given the amount of work, I was very happy with the overall cost. Very eager to please and very solid work! They do not give unnecessary repairs and have been very good at troubleshooting weird problems. I've had 3 vehicles since starting with them 5 years ago and I have nothing but good things to say. Although they're very busy, you can do a key and car drop and they'll look at it the next morning early, and I've even woken up with a voicemail explaining the problem, letting me know it would be ready by lunch. I'm talking a new radiator and a rebuilt transmission on an 06 Nissan Frontier 6cyl, not an oils change. Very impressive! Still go there for everything! I have taken my Ford Escape to 3 other places and no one could find the issue. OK, now that the employees and family members have posted the fake reviews, here it is. This is a change your oil and tire shop only!! NO competent mechanics, no social responsibility, it is all about the mighty buck. Had my truck towed there after calling, they told me no problem. The tow cost $45. two days later they call me and tell me they don't know how to fix my truck, get it out of the lot. They had the nerve to charge me $200. for doing nothing at all but look, cost me another $45. for tow to a real mechanic that fix the truck in two hours. GOOD LUCK WITH THESE CLOWNS. read more

Had a flat on a rental... road debris punctured a sidewall. Tire needed to be replaced. Hardly a repair that involves much to base a rating on. They were prompt and considerate, but a tire change is a tire change. The reason I gave them a solid rating is based primarily on knowing you can learn a fair amount in a short time about a business like this by listening to customers talking among themselves and with service techs and office personnel. It was instantly apparent the people there when I was trust this place and that trust has been earned. I was the only stranger in a cluster of regulars customers. They treated me just as well and made a point of including details of the damage to the tire on the invoice so I would have something to make the case for a reimbursement from the rental company. While I was settling my bill, another person preparing to pay hers was informed there was no charge for the service because everything on her vehicle had checked out okay. The only negative review I see here is from someone ticked off because a 10 year old truck with 150k on its odometer they brought in needed $1,300 worth of work. I suspect it needed a lot of things done and that they quoted him or her a fair price. Need automotive work done in the St. Augustine area? My wife took my son's 10 year old truck with 150,000 to Atlantic Auto for a front end alignment and oil change, which should be about a $100 service. She was talked into $1,130 of addtitional charges including $200 for a differential kit. I am sure that with 150,000 miles, you could find many things wrong. Odd how the total repair bill was just about half of what the truck's value is. I think that is how they price things. My view, these guys are rip-off artists and recommend service elsewhere. read more

Went there to get my car checked, tried to tell me the battery was bad because my alternator was getting ready to go. Literally went to autozone 5min before and had them check it and said it could be an alternator problem, but battery is great. Not even been used for a year! Yes it needs to be charged but it's fine! Tried to tell me for a battery and alternator it would be approximately $730!! On its way to Melvins down the road, they quoted me $435!!!! Literally hooked my car up to the scanner to read I have a bad alternator and charged me $51!!!!!!!!!! read more

Atlantic Auto was recommended by a local when my check tire pressure light went on. I was concerned about getting ripped off, since I'm a female snow bird going to a business with which I am unfamiliar. I needn't have worried. The problem was addressed professionally and extremely quickly, despite hearing John repeatedly say they were "slammed" that day while answering customer's phone calls. When my car was ready I expected to see a good size bill for the service. Again I was wrong. Speedy, courteous, thorough service all for a very reasonable price. We were on vacation and all our tires(Continental) literally started falling apart(tread separation). They ordered our special sized tires and got us back on the road in the time promised. Obviously a successful business. This was evident by the number of locals that were there getting their cars serviced. The tech was careful to follow correct tire mounting procedures and was fast and courteous. Office staff was great also. We would definitely go here again. read more

About a year ago, we brought our car here at the recommendation from many different people (coworkers, church friends, other friends). Our car was having issues that needed repaired, so we figured we'd bring it in to Atlantic Automotive. It took them two days to even look at the car, and I don't think they actually ran a full diagnostic or anything. They replaced a part, gave it back to us, and we thought we were good. So we decided to 'stretch its legs' and drive to Jacksonville to run some errands - while we were on I-95 near 295/9a, all gauges dropped to zero and the car just quit working. Thankfully, we were able to safely pull off onto the shoulder. Couldn't get the car to start at ALL, had to get it towed back home. The next morning, we had the car towed back to Atlantic, where they claimed "it was a fuse" that caused the issue. They replaced a fuse, "didn't even charge for labor" and sent us on our way. Since we needed to pick up our friend at the Jacksonville airport that evening, I told my husband I was going to test drive the car around town to see if it was okay, but both people behind the desk at Atlantic told me, "Oh, no you don't have to do that, it's fixed now! It won't give you any problems!" Guess what - half a mile from home, the car died again, in the same manner it had the day before. So much for that!! When my husband called them back to tell them the car died on the way home, they seemed real apathetic and didn't care if we brought it back to them or not. They weren't willing to make things right. We ended up taking our car to another mechanic that was able to properly diagnose the issue (it was the crankshaft position sensor, for the record) and even allowed us to obtain the part ourselves since we knew we could get it for cheaper than they quoted us. No such flexibility from Atlantic. Such a bummer, we dropped close to five hundred dollars at Atlantic, brought them a working vehicle and suddenly our car had problems it'd never had before. I know sometimes that happens, but the lack of a caring attitude, and their insisting that "it's all okay now!" doesn't give me any reason to bring my car back to them. Had we taken their word that the car was fully repaired, we would've been stranded on I-95 again with another expensive tow and our friend stuck at the airport. Not worth the hassle... these guys have tons of business, they don't care about making things right with new customers, or even making sure your vehicle is actually working properly. My Daughter lives in St. Augustine FL. for about 8 months now. I am from Ct. When she first moved to FL. she was in a car accident, the body shop she went was about a 2.5 star however we had concerns about their work and so I called Atlantic to look over the car and check out a couple of things that should have been replaced. they were very helpful to my daughter and fixed any issues that they had found at a very reasonable price. the next time she had trouble we sent the car to them and the repair was minor but they did not charge her, that was awesome. this morning had to go to orlando and saw a screw in my tire so i took it by atlantic in the process they informewd me i needed a new tire so they patched this one and then charged me 20 bucks for the patch on a balding tire as i got the price i was shocked and the owner gave me a look of discust an employee even tried to give me 1/2 the money for the repair and she angerly told him NO only reinforcing the fact that i was now shore i just got ripped off and to make matters worse she got an attitude when i asked for a recipt i guess now it has to go on the books not in her pocket thanks for the nice send off to orlando oh by the way as i waited i had to listen to some employee in the back try to rap using his fowl language for all to hear do your self a favor and skip this one read more
