My job consists of a lot of travel. I took Midnight for her 30,000 mile service. She's been so good to me in the highways and backroads. I dropped Midnight off at 7am. She got an oil change, fluids topped off, tied rotated and checked for any issues. I was traveling from the Tampa area and got a nail in my tire. I bought the tires from Firestone in Northport Florida, which is about a 4 Hour drive from Saint Augustine. I pulled into this location, told the manager my problem and they took care of me expeditiously and with a smile. They looked up the tires warranty because the tire was unrepairable and they put a new tire on my truck for $32. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes, even though every technician was busy. wow this place has changed. Came in for my oil change and to have my brakes looked at. I have a '18 Forrester no bells or whistles on my gerbil machine. They wanted 1700 to do my brakes. Even went as far as to tell me I was taking chances driving her 20 miles home. WTF? I am a hawk Momma about my brakes and tires. We have been using this firestone for Decades! No way 1700 for a Subaru brake job! Took it to my local dude... three hundred and some change brakes done. They needed to be done, and I was on top of that but in no way were they a road hazard. BE VERY careful here... They are trying to scare you. They also broke a lug nut and blamed in on everyone else, they cut me a deal to fix but still cost me too much but at this point I did not know how dirty they were going to do me next oil change when brakes came up.....Truly a disappointment what this place has become. I must say so far so good Firestone has delivered exceptional service in providing the best customer service. I have read many reviews that are not the greatest and I really do sympathize with those that have had a bad experience. However, my two experiences have been great. I came in a half a year ago to have my front tires changed. I was in and out within two hours max. This time around, my most recent I was on my way to work realized my tire was flat, I made an online appt in the evening and then next morning at 10AM I was good to bring my car in, in my eyes that is a same day appt, especially since I booked close to midnight the night before.I was running a tad behind so I called at 9:30 AM requesting to push my appt back to 12PM instead of 10AM the gentleman on the phone said; "I will see you at 12. I ended up arriving at 11:30AM got checked in I said I wanted one tire the one that was out it was advised to get two so I did they were both 2017 tires so no harm there, I was told there were only two technicians working one left home sick, it was fine my wait was a little shy of 4 hrs. I had my laptop and got work done so it was no biggie, they have a large waiting area; I opted to go across the street grabbed a bite at the coffee shop and worked on my laptop. I do want to mention the manager Joe (Joseph) is AWESOME!!! I have dealt with him previously and he is great! Very knowledgeable, kind, courteous, and all around a great guy. Problems: 1) They had my credit card on file and charged it without my authorization. 2) The work included things that I did not authorize. 3) They changed my oil and overtightened that oil filter cap and then refused to unscrew it without charging me $100. On Tuesday I had an appointment at said location when I arrived and checked in I was told to come back Friday because workers called in sick and I would receive a discount. I just returned home after a 5 hour wait at a 845am appointment. the vehicle was finished I paid and when I started my vehicle the air light was on. After So I stopped and started the vehicle several times to see if it would resolve but it didn't. After this extra long wait I was a bit annoyed so I went back in and told them and said "its ok though I'll do it myself to avoid another 5 hour wait. So I was then pursued by 2 people the rude manager and the jerk with the old navy shirt. The manager ran up to my moving vehicle and was pounding on my windows. When I got a chance to roll it down I told him to get the f away from me, he then returned to the driver window and told me to never return to this facility again. The jerk on the passenger side with the old navy shirt on told me the same "never come back here" with a very insane look on his face. Now one each side of my vehicle standing close intimidating me I couldn't move.. I kept telling them to get out of my face but they would not. So I said b__ch get out of my face figured that might do it. That did it they backed off. That's when the idiot in the old navy shirt called me a b__ch. Wow! A worker and a manager calling customers a b__ch and intimidating me.. By the way I was told 1.5 to 2 hours to get tires mounted. I was there from 8:45am till 2: 20pm. At 10 I was told I was 2 tickets away from being done , I sat and watched 5 tickets completed and it took another 4 hours to be completed all because I didn't buy my tires there. Talked to other customers while waiting that came in after me who's jobs were completed before mine 12 o'clock appointment. I would not recommend this Firestone. Two different visits, I had wheel bearings replaced and a water pump replaced. It has only been about 2 years and both parts needed to be fixed again. These are very expensive repairs. When I contacted Firestone they told me to make an appointment to bring it in to look at it. When I arrived, I was told you are here for the wheel bearing replacement. I told him no, that they had done them prior and they failed. The manager told me to bring it in. I was told "you can leave it, I'm just too busy now". They also left my husband's car door open and killed his battery and wanted him to pay for the replacement. read more

I was visiting from out of town when the battery died on my BMW. The hotel we were staying at recommended this location. There wasn't a BMW dealer anywhere nearby and even if there was, nobody was open on Sunday. We had a friend come and provide an jump and then we visited this location. They did not have the battery in stock and since BMW has special coding they weren't sure they could help. We weren't leaving until the next day. Joe actually offered to come and jump my car in the morning if necessary. The next morning it still wouldn't start, so Joe kept his word and came and jumped it. Unfortunately because of the special battery and coding they were not able to replace the battery, but they made sure the car was running and we got on the road in time to make it to BMW in Daytona. Driving from Myrtle Beach was great until about an hour from St Augustine. The rains was hitting hard and I must have ran over something. I was distraught. From the first phone call with Firestone to the time that I took the car in I felt cared for. The manager Chris on duty made sure that everything was in check. The mechanic Trinity check the entire underside of my car. In the end I am amazed at the workmanship and generosity at this location. We are on a road trip that started in Arkansas, to New York and my grandkids and I are on our 7th time of putting up camp. Just when I thought the vacation was going to have a sad way of ending humanity of a business made the day delightful. It sure makes up for the 2 inches of rainwater we had to sweep out of the tent. Firestone delivers once again. In a bind, need a slow leaking tire plugged, wife and kids taking the car out of town this morning. I live on 210 now so sometimes tough to get here. Went by the Goodyear place on 210 first looking for the tire to be repaired, they turned me away. I call Firestone and they say bring it right in and we'll take care of it. Been here for 5 minutes and the car is already up and tire being removed. Guess what, this place is slammed right now also. Every bay is full and other cars waiting. No matter, Firestone gets it. Apparently, they don't use fender protectors at this location my fresh detailed vehicle fenders were full of grease marks, they should be glad they came off easily. Didn't see it until I arrived home! What a rookie error is that? Plus, the wait time is ridiculous, and the service is severely overpriced. The very tall overweight guy is very disrespectful just from what I heard in the waiting area; he talks about other customers. At checkout he didn't even ask if I needed a military discount. I have used Firestone St Augustine for as long as they have been there, and was usually satisfied with the service. That has changed. I bought a set of new tires there and one developed a slow leak, and so we scheduled an appointment to have that checked out. I arrived for the appointment and was tolld it would takes45 minutes and I was next up.. I had called to double check the appointment time earlier in the day to make certain they could do it as I had to change my own schedule to make sure this appointment was ready and able. Since I had to wait the 45 minutes , I elected to walk around downtown and came back 50 minutes later to pick up the car. After sitting for about 10 more minutes I finally went to the manager who was different than the one earlier. He did not know the result of the work and went into the back and returned to say the had not started yet! I am now killing half my day, and I said how much longer is it now? Thirty minutes this time after they start but not sure when they will start, because they only had two men in the shop. I determined I could not waste any more of my time and left. I can see if they were shorthanded-fine. All they had to do was tell me before I came down and I would have changed the appointment. This is indifferent service and not based on needs of others as well as theirs. So for one leaking tire they now will lose my repair business as well as buying my next tires there as well. Ok, here we go: Recently, something has been wrong with my car. The AC wouldn't work. No one could figure out why. Finally, I was on my way to St Aug and the TEMP went crazy. I rushed it to your Firestone. Later I received a call that it would take at least $1500 to repair these "multiple leaks". Well, I have an old car, so I wasn't going to do that. I asked if it would at least get me back home, 5hrs away? Could they FILL the coolant, I would pay, show me how to fill it, & I'll risk it to get home so I could just get a new car. Well, I picked it up, got 1/2 mile away and the TEMP was WAY worse than ever. Almost all the way up. Hyserical, I pulled into a passing Autozone. I wasn't more than a 1/2 mile from Firestone's door. But anyway, the kind AutoZone man there got me the coolant, put it in...& suddenly even my AC worked!!!I had thought I was going to need a tow and a rental to even get home. I have now driven it for a MONTH, & NO LEAKS, no problems at ALL. Now, I do have an old car, but it is well maintained. I have now become an expert on my coolant system, and people, there is not one leak. And my AC works great. (And now I know WHY it does, why the temp went nuts. Thank goodness for Youtube videos!) So now, after a month so far of watching my car, driving quite a bit, checking the still FULL coolant level, putting cardboard underneath, monitoring closely...nothing! Now... I don't want to say I was almost scammed. But come ON. I nearly was. And they hadn't even put in the coolant like I asked SEVERAL times. They told me they had (the 3 or 4 times I'd asked before I'd finally pulled away from the station, 3 or 4 times!). My car could have seized (and been utterly lost with damage, truly) and left me stranded on a Florida road in 90 degree heat with my dog, 5 hours from home. I would never go to a Firestone again now. No offense, but I wouldn't. I tell everyone I know about this, I simply have to! I am sorry to say, as a woman going alone to ANY mechanic, it's a nightmare. This is not right. I took my GMC Sierra in once for brakes, and they sent the truck home with a huge scratch in the side. Strike one. Due to proximity to my home, I begrudgingly decided to take it back when it was misfiring. They called to tell me that they were unsure what was wrong, but I should start by replacing all 8 fuel injectors. If that didn't work, replace the spark plugs. If that didn't work, I likely had a blown head gasket and needed a whole new engine. I promptly picked it up and took it to another shop for a 2nd opinion. Turns out I needed a new solenoid and oxygen sensor. Truck runs like dream again. Interesting, because those were the EXACT codes that were on my bill from Firestone (they charged me $115.00 for computer diagnostics). I am disgusted that Firestone was going to take me for $1,000's of dollars. Shame on them for trying to take advantage of people. I don't know how they can sleep at night. Strike 2.
