First, the good- They were easy to deal with. They showed up when they said they would. They sent me a contract, they answered any questions I had and made me feel good about choosing them and the move itself. You know how it is and how stressed out you are when its moving time. Had to move about 40 miles away and with Atlanta traffic, even on a Saturday, it was nice to leave it up to someone else. Plus they didnt charge for the drive to get to my house I was moving out of. Thought that was really nice. They did charge me time to drive to my new home but again thats very fair. Second, the bad- I got the three-crew option. The leader was a long term employee and knew what he was doing. The other two gents were new and I am not complaining, we all have to start sometime. But they were slow and always seemed to be on their phone when something was not in their hand. I felt like if they were working at a faster clip it would not have to have taken the extra time I paid for. Really needed to micromanage the other two and felt like shouldnt have had to do that. Mistakes were made. They left their tools at my old house for disassembling and putting furniture back together. Shouldnt you have a checklist before you leave? Third, the ugly- I have a very expensive bedroom set that I bought five years ago and was all that I was moving that was really nice as it was a paring down move with lots of stuff not coming. They damaged that furniture dropping it on its corners. First, they tried to say it was like that when they moved but later fessed up. The leader of the crew then was like no worries we will send someone out to fix it up. Though I am not a carpenter, I thought there is no way what they did could be fixed. After almost six months of going back and forth they sent me less than 150 dollars. I did not pay for the "extra" insurance, so what I had was the basic insurance. I was naive enough to believe I didnt need the extra insurance. I am paying professionals to move it so dont you know how to move it without damaging it? I have moved 8 times in the past 10 years and have always used professionals each time and with each time I became more and more disappointed; however, Atl Fiat Rate Movers have redeemed my faith in professional movers. The 3 young men ( my people as in Black men)were careful, thoughtful in moving my belongings and very efficient and Moved with a purpose. They are so different then the two idiots that moved me in their too small rented uhaul ( they knew what & how much I had prior to)to a temporary location and belongings into Storage ( Jumbo Movers) Asian and pseudo black man. I called them to myself Dumb and Dumber or Bevis & Butthead. I digress. Anyway I was moved by Atlanta Flat Rate Movers in less than 5 hours, 3 men, Huge company truck, 3rd floor apartment in 70-80 degree weather, 3 locations including final destination with a reasonable price. I never actually got to use Atlanta Flat Rate Movers. I contacted them four times, twice via email through their website and twice via phone. My emails were never returned and no on ever answered the phone when I called. I also found it interesting that according to their web site, their so-called "flat rate" is for a pre-determined amount of hours and if you go over those hours, you will have to pay the hourly rate. I think this defeats the purpose of advertising yourself as a flat rate mover. Buyer, beware on this one! If they are unresponsive for a request for quote for a job, then I am afraid to find out how unresponsive they would be if there was a problem with my move or something was broken and I needed to file a claim. read more

These guys were fantastic!! We had a fairly small move (one bedroom apartment). The guys gave us a good estimate of when they would arrive and arrived when they said they would. The two gentlemen were very polite and professional throughout the entire move. I was also very impressed with how efficiently they were able to move our furniture without causing any damage. They even tightened up some of the screws on the feet of my couch which were loose before they even moved it. These guys went above and beyond to make this move as easy as possible and at a very reasonable price (we were getting quoted 3x what they charged). Highly recommend!!! read more

When I called it to their attention one smart aleck replied "it's all good. ". Very cavalier attitude and lots of horseplay. Poor Experience - Check the dozens of bad reviews first!!! Based on my opinion - not recommendable! They have damaged various of our belongings and property during move, and wont cover anything, despite insurance they sell you and managers word he gave me, which he broke. They showed up with unprofessional looking staff, smoked around my 9 month pregnant wife, the list is long... And not even bring basic tools, unable to take furniture apart, despite this being booked as service. Had to do half of the furniture disassembly myself as the 5 movers were ill-prepared. They dirtied up and damaged old house, plus damaged brand new construction house and furniture while not disclosing anything. Had to find all the damages after they left. Then they denied any claims, didn't credit in writing promised amount for uninsured damages by their staff. I paid extra premium for moving insurance close to $200 which was worthless, perfectly legitimate documented damage claim was denied for the managers "promise" to credit $100 for water line damage their movers caused, in writing on B/L. Which they caused at old house which wasn't their job and not consented to. Now they are withholding that money too, in exchange for "anti defamation" letter to be signed preventing me from reviewing their company online... Which I had not signed, as the manager broke his word before and kept finding "reasons" to screw us out of the damages sustained. Do yourself a major favor and look for more reputable, honest moving companies, who train their employees properly and have their management serve their customers instead of finding every reason, valid or not to deny any claims. read more

I will never use Atlanta Flat Rate Movers again. Like Mel R said, if its flat rate why did we end up paying $400 more at the end of the move. We used them before, 3 years ago to move us from Conyers to Houston GA. Second time, we moved from Houston back to Conyers. Same distance, same furniture. How can you come up with $400 more?? When we called the manager to ask why we were charged more he insulted my husband by saying that we must have forgot that we bought more furniture!!?? We had moved in a small condo barely fitting our furniture from our house into it. No room for more stuff as he tried to say why it took long for his guys to move us. The real problem was that this second crew was slower than the first crew who moved us 3 years ago. One young man was on his cell phone viewing videos and showed to another worker. They did not wrap our furniture like the first crew and damaged a lot of our furniture. The manager was very rude and disengaging to my husband. He blamed us for why we had to pay more, said maybe more mileage, or more stuff! Same mileage, same furniture. BE AWARE of this one. Bad experience!! read more

I stand by my original review. It is really hard to even think about hiring a moving company after this entire situation that apparently 'needs' to continue! We just moved again (from VA to OK). If we had been happy with the service, we would have been glad to hire you and pay well above what we did in order to move our home literally halfway across the country (we even hired additional people to come pack the entire house for us). As you could imagine, you could have made a good chunk of change off us - had we not had this incident that would have easily be resolved with a simple apology! We didn't even expect you to pay anything..... Just own what happened! If I remember correctly, your pictures are of one TV that isn't turned on from after you delivered it. There is no beginning picture that you have to show that it is or isn't working. We do - time stamped! As far as the packaging, one of your movers did wrap one of the TVs with our materials; he was kind enough to show us the best way to wrap TVs for shipping and storage. Subsequently, the second TV was repackaged. You claim this did not happen because our boxes were used; however, it was your brown tape on the boxes. I know this because we only use clear, packaging tape! That is all we have ever used and will only use! All this being said, if anyone who wants to see the pictures I have, I will gladly share them (before and after). I don't claim that the entire experience is bad, but there are aspects of it that were horrible and have impacted the way we move from now on! read more

They moved my 3 bed/2bath town home in Buford to a 1 bed/1bath apt in Atlanta in 3 hours for a flat rate, as advertised. I am a single woman who was moving alone and was worried about being gouged; this did not happen. The communication was on point from start to finish, they arrived right on time and immediately went to work. They were actually booked solid for the weekend that I needed to move but they squeezed me in very early on a Sunday morning. Unfortunately it was also pouring rain, and one of the movers slipped and dropped my dresser drawer and shattered it. My move had been insured at no additional fee, and I received a check in the mail for the value of the entire dresser the following week. I would recommend them for local moves but you will want to book them well in advance as very few movers will offer you a flat rate. read more

The movers broke one of my flat screen tv's. The movers put the legs of my dresser on incorrectly and did not put the mirror back on my dresser. Some of my child's toys were missing. They were late. This was the worst moving experience I have had. My furniture was damaged, knobs and handles were broken off my dresser and night stands. New 4K television power cord lost. Dragged mattresses on the dirty trucks floors. Bed footboard dropped and badly chipped. Dining room table edges damaged from dragging. What a nightmare. Picked up on Tuesday and lots of excuses why they could not deliver until Friday. Then they were stuck in traffic and rescheduled delivery for Saturday. They showed up with a small UHaul truck and my household furnishings crammed in it. The dispatcher not taking responsibility and the lifters had several excuses why they took my belongings from its original boxes because it couldn't fit in the smaller truck. Needless to say my belongings got chipped and broken. I am so disgusted and upset. I would not recommend them to anyone nor would I used them again. It takes a lot to impress my husband and Atlanta Flat Rate Movers did just that! We called Monday and they were able to get us in that same Wednesday. They showed up on time and immediately started getting the job done. Our old house has the driveway from hell and they still kept going at a great pace. All the guys were professional, courteous, and just did a great job with ALL of our stuff (and by all, I mean a lot of crap lol). What started out like seemingly great service went out the window as soon as they got any money. We had several issues, including dropping and breaking of items without notifying us, missing hardware for furniture, breakable items just thrown in a box and various other issues. But one of the greatest was going down in my basement to find 4 movers playing pool on my brand new pool table that I had not even had a chance to use yet! And while they were getting paid! After cooling down and sending an email to the company outlining everything that had went wrong, I received a response saying they would be in contact with me. But of course, that never happened. Company is a FRAUD. First they give you a quote for "x" amount and take the deposit. Hours later they send an email with a different quote - $1500+ added on top of the old one. Do not use this service! I've used them 3 times in less than 1 year. The first two experience were great as the first two crews I hired were so professional and experienced. So much so that I continued to refer them to other customers. Unfortunately, my issue is not with the moving crews, as they have been pretty good for the most part. My issue was with the owner, Brandon Burrage. The company has two options, a 3 hr minimum and a 5 hr minimum. He charged me for the 5 hour minimum contract despite never asking me and the crew being finished in under 3 hours. I asked if this could be converted to the 3 hour option as I was never asked and it only took 2 hrs and 45 minutes. He proceeded to inform me that in Georgia, you cannot amend, rescind, or alter a contract. Not only is he entirely wrong about that, but it was what he hung his hat on to overcharge me for hours that were never used. The company is not transparent and they are unreasonable when you have an issue. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. read more

Movers showed up on time for my move although the moving manager insisted on sending too many workers. I moved into a storage unit where my things were unceremoniously DUMPED into the unit willy-nilly. Heavy boxes were packed in the back of the storage unit contrary to my instructions. Heavy boxes were placed on top of my mattresses which now have dents in them because of this. My storage unit was such a mess that I had to actually remove everything and put it all back in, in a way where I could reach my boxed belongings. Contacting the "claims manager" did no good since I didn't call within 90 days, there was nothing she could do. Oh, and to top it all off, one of the movers stole my gun but since she couldn't be bothered to look into her files, she said there was nothing she could do. Do not use this moving service. It is not a Flat Rate. It is a predetermined amount based on MY estimation of how much I have to move. if I was an expert in moving, I would own a moving business...right? The 5 mile move cost me $952.00. I have never paid that much for an in town move. I respectfully asked for a credit of $190.00 to compensate us for the horribly expensive ...day late over 6 hour move that I had to pay for their lunch period. I have tried to dispute this with them and with American Express. The movers were scheduled to arrive on Saturday at 3. At 3, I received a call from the manager stating it would not be until 6. Obviously, they only use one set of movers. It would be at 6 unless they could come the following day, Sunday between 8 - 10. At 10 the next morning, the movers had not arrived. I called and the man said they were on their way. The arrived at 10:30 on Sunday morning. The movers did not bring tools to take down our beds and when they asked me how many boxes I had, the company never asked how many pictures I had that would have to be transported. This is why this "flat rate" is a rip off. The owners never step foot in my home. By the end of the day, the men were tired and rude and were more worried about flirting with my neighbors than finishing the move. That was time I paid for also. Do not use this company. I had 2 workers moving only the heavy furniture out of a 750 square foot apartment and it took them 2 1/2 hours just to load up the truck. I've moved 3 time before this with the same amount of stuff and I've never exceed 3 hours for the entire move. To be fair one of the workers was very professional and moving at an adequate pace but the other guy was just plain sorry which made us exceed the 3 hour time. They broke the had board on my bed. They dropped my television stand. The didn't have enough wraps so I had to unpack 4 of my blankets to wrap some of my stuff. One of the workers ask me several times about a tip saying that "it's best to give them cash because if I leave it on the card they will not get". I could go on and on about this terrible experience. When I ask to speak with the manager after the move I spoke with a guy name Brandon and he was not even concern about hearing about my moving experience. He told me " I can't change the price of you move based off your opinion". This is no way to talk to a customer.
