Joy's Movers have there operations and training to an exceptional level. They worked very hard to always make sure I was happy and taken care of. They handled everything with grace and a quick response time. They performed above and beyond with full transparency. They honored all rules required by GA law to have and run a moving company. I was very impressed as they sent all the required and mandated documents by the state and Movers Association to me the day I met with them. Nobody else has done that part at all. This is one company you can completely trust to do a very thorough and knowledgeable job of packing. They have been a dream to work with and I will be using them for my next two projects/moving of furniture. If you want something done right the first time, this is your company. Moving stinks, we all know this. I moved in NYC countless times over the course of 20 years and I always had issues with movers, either they were no-shows, brought the wrong size truck, or they quoted me one price and charged another on site. Even moving to Atlanta from NYC sucked, we used one of the big cross-country movers and our belongings took an additional 3 days on top of their "worst case estimate." So I had low expectations going into my first move within Atlanta. Well, Joys Movers changed my streak of shitty movers. The team was friendly, worked fast, and kept to the price I was quoted at. I almost thought there was a catch! Our move went so easy, I thought it was too good to be true. I've since recommended them to my parents and friends who have also had great experiences. I swear, I'm never moving again (packing and unpacking is the pits no matter how great your movers are), but if I do ever move again, I'll obviously use Joy's Movers. read more

Many others have this same experience I know! Destroyed a ton of my furniture during move- I have video evidence. Owner + staff were cruel, lied about all their mistakes, & refused to compensate me for anything. Denied my request several times in advance to get all info. pertaining to insurance options- 3 staff supervisors lied and said there was no option. They all promised that all damage would be compensated for. Instead, While on the clock during the move, worker made me sign my refusal to pay extra for insurance. I would not recommend Joy's Movers for the following reasons: The company 1) did not value its employees and put them in hazardous working conditions, 2) did not acknowledge its own scheduling mistakes, and 3) refused to make things right. My 77-year-old mother was moving from one senior apartment complex to another one about 25 miles away. She advised Maria that she had a piano, china cabinet, adjustable bed and two full bedrooms. Maria recommended a two-person team (for safety reasons there should have been 3 people because of the piano). They started at 8:30am and by 1pm, it was clear that they needed additional help. They were heard several times requesting extra help. Maria scheduled them for a second job that day that they were unable to fulfill. Loading the truck and unloading at the new apartment complex took a whopping 14 hours! The guys did what they were supposed to do. They asked for help and did not receive it. If Maria had properly scheduled a 3-person team, it would not have taken as long. She was unwilling to make any concessions and charged my mother for 14 hours. It was her mistake. We specifically asked for a reduction in the number of hours she was charged. On top of paying the exorbitant fee, my mother still tipped the team because it was the right thing to do. read more

We recently used Joy's Movers for our move. Although it was a last minute move due to the builder changing our closing date, the movers still got it done. They were very professional (also wore masks) and protected the new hardwood floor with fabric. None of our furniture was damaged and they worked efficiently. It took them about 6 hours to move a 4 bedroom house but that's mostly because we hadn't packed everything. I would recommend labeling boxes for each room to help the movers. I needed 2 men and a truck to move a bedroom set about 10 miles. They arrived early and did a great job. Very polite and professional. It was a easy job that took less than 2 hrs. Cost $238. $100 is required to hold the appt. It's deducted from the cost of the move. Extra time is rounded up to the next half hr. read more

My family moved this weekend and had the most incredible experience with Joy's Movers. Their team showed up to my house on Friday at 7:30am to pack (we paid for packing as well) us up. They were done by noon (!). They even disassembled some of the furniture they knew they would need to in order to make Saturday go faster. On Saturday they were at our house by 8am to move us-- They had us out of our old house by 11am, stopped by a storage unit, and were done unloading at our new house by 4pm. It was incredible. Joel (the manager in charge) brought 6 guys with him bc i said i wanted it done fast, and he even brought a few women to help me break down and unpack boxes as soon as we walked through the door. Unbelievable. Can't recommend enough. Tell them I sent you (I mean, do or don't, i get nothing if you do, since im hoping to not move again for a very, very long time). read more

My fiance and I just moved this weekend from our 1 bedroom apartment to 3 bedroom house. The Joy's team was fabulous! They showed up on time - if not early and worked fast. Nothing was damaged in the move - they were very thorough wrapping our furniture, pictures and other fragile items. We were settled into our new home by noon! Seriously, Best moving experience in my life . Trust me, I have moved into 5 places in my after College life. This move was out of a 8400 sq ft home, and the most overwhelming move in my life. They did it all and packed my life into boxes. They marked every box with the room and the contents like I was doing it myself. I was overly impressed with their service, attention to detail, and protection of my furniture and breakables. Things that were glass or breakable were marked many times over. They perfectly covered my hardwoods with clothes so as not to do any damage. When they vacated my home, I did not have one scratch on a floor or wall. It was truly amazing ! On July 3, 2017, my daughter, my wife and I called on our speaker phone and made a reservation with Joy's Movers. We were advised at the time by the female representative that answered the call if we wanted the date requested we would need to make a $100 deposit to reserve the move date of July 13, 2017. I stated that we would need to do our due diligence and speak with other moving companies to determine the best price point for this move. After calling a number of companies, we found Joy's Movers cost to be the most economical to move a 500 square foot studio apartment. Once again all three of us called via speaker phone later in the day on July 3, 2017 and my daughter paid the $100 via her credit card and received a receipt from Joy's Movers to confirm the transaction. At no time were we advised verbally, by email, or in writing that the $100 reservation fee would be non-refundable. Moreover, there was not any communication from this company, issuance of a contact or evidence thereof detailing the circumstances that the deposit would be held and not refunded. On July 7, 2017, which is 6 days prior to the aforementioned move date, I called Joy's Movers to cancel the move. The company would not provide a refund because they stated that the six days was not enough time for them to obtain any business to make up for our cancellation. Of note is no services were rendered by Joy's Movers. Therefore, the company had requisite time to manage the progression. This appears nothing more than a scam operation designed to profit from honest consumers. To that end, this companies actions appears, in my opinion, to constitute theft by deception which states in part; actions that creates or reinforces a false impression, including false impressions as to law, value intention or other state of mind; actions that prevent another from acquiring information which would affect his judgement of a transaction actions that fails to correct a false impression which the deceiver previously created or reinforced or which the deceiver knows to be influencing another to who he stands in a fiduciary or confidential relationship; If this type of activity is allowed to advance without statutory involvement then I submit this company will persist in circumventing the legal criterion and establish a cascade of funds that are contrary to the spirit and letter of the law. I encourage any and all consumers - whether business or personal - to abandon any consideration of this company or you shall be the recipient of a scam operation that has no foundation in truth and honesty. read more

I was referred to Joel by a friend which is always how I prefer to find contractors. They did a fantastic job! I had packed a good portion of my house while it was listed for sale. Once we got an offer we needed to be out on New Years Eve, yikes. Joel's response "no problem", they came in and packed us up in 5 hours. We couldn't close on our new house until the following week, again Joel's response "no problem." They kept my items on the truck and didn't charge me any additional storage for tying up a truck for a week. We moved approximately 100 miles, when I asked Joel what time to expect them on delivery day and he said 8am, and they were there right on time after having left Atlanta at 5 am to be there on time. I had donuts and coffee waiting for them. They had my whole load off loaded from the truck and furniture in place, beds reassembled in 5 hours again. They put down runners throughout the house, cleaned up before they left and although I am still unpacking I have not found any damage to anything. I would highly recommend Joel and Joy's Moving and Storage. They are efficient, courteous and professional. read more

I am way late on posting this review. Joy's Movers moved us the middle of December 2016. These guys were AMAZING! We moved from a 5800 square foot house to a 2500 square foot house...Ouch! This was THE toughest move I have ever made because downsizing was REALLY difficult for me. However, I cannot imagine having done it without Joy's Movers. We decided to have them provide full service: packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking. Joel sent 5 packers to pack us up! I had not packed one item when they arrived and was feeling quite overwhelmed. They came into my home and very confidently and quickly got to work and were able to get my entire large house, including 2 kitchens, 5 bedrooms, full basement with media and rec room packed up in one day. The care they took in packing all of our items was INCREDIBLE. NOT ONE ITEM WAS BROKEN OR DAMAGED DURING THE MOVE! Because the move happened so quickly for us, we were not able to sell many of our items before the move. This was no problem for Joy's Movers. They were able to pack all of our storage items with great care and packed them away for us in our storage space. We ended up having 3 trucks to move all of our "stuff". They unloaded and unpacked us all in one day. Joel made sure that he had a large enough crew so that they were safe, careful with all our our items, and efficient. We will definitely use them again with our next move. This is the only moving company we have ever been impressed with. We HIGHLY recommend using Joy's Movers. read more
