My wife had trimmed it herself before, but after growing his hair out quite a bit it because too long and too much for her to try and "tame." After an extensive search, we landed here. Boy were we glad! Rachel was our stylist and she did a marvelous job, all around. We were nervous at how our son would do this first time. He can be shy, he can get spooked at something new like this, and we were ready. No need to worry. Rachel made sure he was comfortable and knew what was happening the whole time. They had a cute little red car chair that he could sit on (although he opted for sitting on my lap the whole time - which was fine, Rachel didn't mind). She was fast, accurate, and knew what she was doing. Have 20+ years of children's hair experience, she knew how to keep our guy entertained ... feeling safe ... and timed perfectly for not taking too long as to bringing on a bored toddler. The cut itself was great too. Stylish and modern, she did a great job at trimming/cutting his hair and layering it so as to bring out the natural waves and curls. Our son liked her, like the experience, and by the end was ready to sit in and try out the red car chair! Ha! Looking for a children salon? Look no further then The Original Childrens Shop. While you're there, be sure to check out the clothes, books, and toys they have there too. And while you're in the neighborhood, check out the other nice locally owned shops on the same street!

What kind of store doesn't want to sell their items? Unbelievable! How do they stay in business? She even asked my 10 year old are you following me? I found that very rude! The worst store I've ever been in. First of all, we were a family of 4 and my children each got one. You took out that jelly cat you did not put on the floor on your own. We did not ask for you to take anything out besides asking if you had another quantity of the pink bunny. We knew nothing about the another one you brought out on your own. It's doesn't especially mean if we're a family of four we could do 4 transactions. So don't say we're lying when you caused all this. We are not your only bad review, we have seen your past reviews on Google. I still don't recommend this place to any families with children or anyone in general. Have a great day. You can stop replying and not opening it to the public because it's showing guilt. I'm sure I'm not the only bad review you'll ever get considering how you run your business. I didn't see your goggle reviews before I went to your shop but it is what it is. What happened and said is done and at the end of the day my kids got what they wanted despite you hesitating to sell to kids. You tried to save the jellycats for a collector FYI my kids are collectors! Take care!

I was disappointed the bigger handicap room was used as stock, so I had to try on clothes with the door open so I can keep an eye on my toddler in the stroller. The sale section is always stocked up and organized. It's a completely different store with a different vibe. For starters the prices are high, $119 plus tax for a used Woolino sleep sack, you can get one new from the company or amazon for a few more dollars. Another thing is that they no longer sort clothing by gender. This is incredibly annoying when shopping for boys clothing as there is prob 75% girls to boys clothing in consignments stores. I'm guessing this is due to people over buying for girls and girls not making their clothes as messy, this was the case with my children. This comment isn't designed to attack people who want to dress their children GN, it's more an annoyance that it takes significantly longer to sort though the clothes which is tough when you have 2 kids in tow. Perhaps brand back the gendered cloning and have a third GN section.

I always try to support local businesses, especially children's stores, but unfortunately my experiences here have consistently felt unwelcoming. My most recent visit was while shopping for my daughter's upcoming 3rd birthday. When I walked in, neither of the two employees in the store acknowledged me. After a while, I received a very cold greeting from one of them. During checkout, I commented that it was nice to see they carried adult clothing as well, and the owner responded with, "We always have," in a tone that came across as harsh and dismissive. On its own, this interaction might not have been a big deal, but it reflects a pattern I've experienced over the years. I've repeatedly found the atmosphere to be unfriendly, particularly in my interactions with the owner. As a parent who regularly shops for children's clothing and enjoys supporting local businesses, customer service matters. I want to spend my money where customers feel welcomed and appreciated. Because of the consistent lack of warmth and customer care I've experienced, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. That's disappointing, because I genuinely prefer supporting neighborhood businesses whenever possible.

The stylist would disappear for long periods of time. She forgot what I was looking for and what she was getting for me. The lack of communication was so poor that a shirt I wanted to buy was actually given to another customer while I was still in the fitting room. The styling assistance was truly insulting. I told the stylist that I wear a size 26 or 27 in bottoms and a small in tops. I was specifically looking for professional work clothes. Instead, the stylist ignored my requests and brought me casual sweatshirts in sizes large and extra large. She repeatedly brought me pants and jeans in a size 30 and insisted that I was larger than I am.
