Helped me out several times with small things and I never felt gouged. The opposite actually, sometimes I felt guilty for wasting his time.

San Mateo Tire & Brake

These guys are solid, friendly pros! They've always given me (a female, clearly clueless about…read morecars) very honest advice on tires as well as general maintenance/repair of my Toyota Sienna. A few times now, they've talked me out of a service so I can save hundreds of dollars, while they lose that business :( The latest one was a brake fluid flush, recommended by a name-brand car maintenance company that was going to charge me $250. Bert at SM Tire & Brake took a look, researched Toyota's official info, and told me to come back for it much, much later. As for price, they are very reasonable. The first time I found them, I dropped in for a quick tire patch, it was done in under 10mins after a 5min wait, and it was $40 (? This was 2025).

I called in and they gave me options for tires. I chose and they ordered the tires. The tires came within 2 days but I couldn't come in until 2 days afterwards. I ended up missing my appointment time by 45 minutes. I called and asked if I could still come in. They said no big deal and to come in whenever. It took them around 40 minutes to swap out the tires. Because there isn't a waiting room, they brought me a chair so I could sit outside while the weather was warm. They were listening to music, chatting and having a good time which made the 40 minutes go by. I'd definitely recommend this auto shop for anyone who needs their car repaired or tires changed!

I'm writing this review due to a specific encounter I had with Jared and Ohana at the Millbrae location. My uncle had purchased 4 wheels and tires From them a few months ago. Shortly after that he got a nail in his tire and had it dealt with elsewhere. Somehow one of the required hub centering rings got misplaced and he started having highway vibrations. He ended up going to another shop to deal with the vibrations they charged him a small fortune to rotate , balance and align the vehicle. During all of the "work" this other shop did. They removed the other 3 centering rings and never bothered to install them. Instead they half ass centered the wheels and over torqued the crap out of all the lug nuts to compensate for their stupidity. My uncle is a very kind and patient man and after paying to "fix" his vibration and having it vibrate and shake even worse afterwards. Instead of going back to raise a fuss. He asked me to inspect the vehicle. I immediately found 4 missing center rings and one wheel destroyed by being forced on crooked due to missing centering rings. At this point I was livid. I called the "shop" that took his money , lost his rings and ruined a wheel. They asked me to hold for 23 minutes then told me. "The tech is pretty sure he installed the rings. But he's not sure they'll still be there ...." Ok that's the stupidest thing I've ever really heard. Realizing that they were a dead end. I instead called America's Tire and got Jared. Jared listened to me kind of frustratedly explain that I needed a new wheel and 4 rings. He was kind , knowledgeable and efficient. He put me on hold for like 3 minutes confirmed he had the rings and a new wheel and he facilitated my being able to pick em up on my lunch break. On my lunch break I met Ohana who was also kind , knowledgeable and professional. She helped me get my parts and skidaddle in a very efficient way. Given that the so called "shop" that caused all the mess is the Firestone across the street from them. I'll say this. America's Tire is leaps and bounds better and more human and knowledgeable than the folks across the street. They took the time to help me fix the issue and they actually cared. I've admonished my uncle to steer clear of Firestone and to only go to Americas tire as a result of these two distinctly different interactions. Jared. Ohana. Thanks for keeping it real and thanks for helping me take care of my family. Good on you !!

The same service woman who had helped me initially looked dumbfounded and said she will tell a technician to get right on it. It took another 45 minutes to get it done. I still tipped the technician but a lot of my time was wasted. Despite being free, I'd rather pay a local tire guy $35 to get it done in 15-20 minutes. On top of that, the repaired tire was overinflated. WTH. Never again. Waste of my time.

Stress free is FAR from what just happened to me. Your company caused me stress if anything…read more I made an appt online and received a confirmation. I arrived a few mins early for my 1pm appt today.. and then I was told that they could not complete my service because there was not enough time. Please tell me why I received a confirmation for my appt if this could not be done TODAY? Or if you knew ahead of time that it could NOT be possible, why did I not receive a call sometime BEFORE my appt? Their way of fixing the problem was to "accommodate me" by offering me a time tomorrow (a weekday). That sounds like you're accommodating yourself more so than me. That's convenient for YOU. There are people who can only get these kind of services done on the weekend, me included. Then they offered me their branch in Redwood City, but provided me with a Jiffylube address just to get me out the door. But wait.. TO TOP IT OFF, they offered me a "discount" the next time I could come in. The price they offered me was more than; if not the same price I would have paid TODAY for the service. How is that a "discount"? After respectfully trying to see what they could possibly offer to make this situation right...in every single aspect, this was accommodating YOUR COMPANY and NOT me, the customer. Why would I come back? To get denied for another service? I am totally taken back today with this situation. I really hope you put this into consideration for your company. Especially if your Yelp staff is encouraging your customers to book their appts online for a "discount". This seems to causing people stress..and being you are the "stress-free auto care", this far from the case.

Disappointing Experience - Poor Customer Service and Lack of Professionalism…read more I brought my 2022 BMW 5 Series to Moe's Tires to have a single nail removed from one of my tires and to get the tire patched. What should have been a simple tire repair turned into a very disappointing experience. After inspecting my vehicle, an employee began pointing out additional issues and strongly insisted that I should have further repairs done, suggesting that leaving without addressing them would not be a good idea. I felt uncomfortable with the way these additional services were being pushed on me. It seemed as though the employee assumed I would be willing to spend more money simply because I was driving a BMW. When I politely declined the additional services and explained that I wanted some time to consider my options, the employee's attitude changed noticeably. The customer service became cold and unfriendly. What concerned me the most was what happened when I went to pick up my vehicle. After being told that my car was ready, I discovered that the tire pressure was still significantly low. The tire had not even been properly inflated before the vehicle was returned to me. As a customer, I expect a tire shop to prioritize safety, professionalism, and honest communication rather than making customers feel pressured into purchasing additional services. Based on my personal experience, I was not satisfied with the quality of service or the way I was treated. If you care about your vehicle and your safety, I strongly recommend being cautious when considering this shop. I wanted to share my experience so that other customers can make an informed decision before bringing their vehicles here.

I mentioned this to Nate when I spoke to him on the phone and he said they're replace the stem for free if that was the problem. I brought my car in and Gigi quickly confirmed it was the stem that was leaking and replaced it in about 15 minutes. She didn't charge me anything! I now have more time before I need to get my tires replaced. I'll definitely be back to get my tires replaced here. Thank you Gigi and Nate for the no-pressure, honest customer service!

I recently went there for an oil change and asked them to rotate my tires. They told me they could not rotate my tires because my front tires were bald. They are not even at the wear mark.
