I have been taking my Mercedes and BMW to Autohaus Schmid for years and truly feel that they provide the best service I have experienced in decades. My Dinan 3 BMW has over 250K miles on it and I trust Paul and his team to keep it going much longer. Previously, the car was serviced through Dinan but after they re-organized, I needed a reliable shop to work on the car. Autohaus Schmid has been the place to take it for consistently great work. They quoted me prices 30-40% less. Went in and they were very friendly and showed me exactly what they were repairing and why. A cooling system failure brought us into this shop last week, and I'm generally impressed with their work. The labor rate is a bit high at $135/hour, but the quality of their work was very good. It's not hard to figure out what is leaking from a cooling system, but they didn't just do a quick fix; they replaced the right parts for the long term without wasting any money. There are lots of Mercedes and BMWs in the shop, showing their interest in German machinery. I never thought I'd be writing a review about an auto repair place, but they're so good that I have to! It all started with my VW Jetta in 2002. Almost 10 years and 3 cars later (2 for my husband), Autohaus Schmid is the first to place I call when I'm having car problems. I know I can trust them to tell me what's wrong with my car, give me a fair price, and quick turnaround. I also love the early bird drop-off and after-hours pick up as I haven't always been able to make it during business hours. The cars we've owned over the years are a VW Jettas, Honda Civic, Subaru Impreza, Toyota Highlander, and now Huyndai Elantra. Each car has been well cared-for. I have paid extra $$$ to have my car towed from Petaluma late on a Friday night to Autohaus Schmid in Burlingame just so I had peace of mind that my car was going to be fixed properly. Paul even gave me his cell phone number so I could call him anytime while it was in his shop. I recently purchased a used 2008 Huyndai Elantra. While the car looked great on the outside, I was unsure what it looked like on the inside. I asked the dealer if we could drive it all the way from Albany to Burlingame and they said no problem. Within 5 minutes of bringing the car to Autohaus Schmid, it was up on the rack being inspected. They were done within 30 minutes. It was because they said the car was in great condition that I went back to the dealer and immediately purchased the car. Paul and Mike have been great to me over the years. I have been taking my cars over the past 12+ years to Paul. Spanning different types a 1995 5 series BMW, a Honda Civic with a swapped motor and turbo. As well as a Mazda 3i. On the most recent project Autohaus Scmid essentially took a car no one ever works on a 2008 Mazda 3i, and put a full corksport suspension on it. As well as Sway bars, short shift plate, Rims + Tires, and some continued maintence. Anytime I can swing by and ask a quick question or have something looked at. This is a neighborhood place, not looking for a quick buck. Instead long-term customers. An if you become one, you will never look anywhere else for your car needs. No matter what you are driving. Brought my 2013 VW Beetle in for an annual service and they took great car of my car. They were honest and did not try to up charge me on anything. As a young woman who doesn't know much about cars, I really appreciate that. I felt like the owner treated me like he would his daughter. He wanted to make sure my car was safe on the road.
