I don't usually write a lot of reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience because it was truly outstanding. I went to the La Cumbre AT&T store after cracking my phone screen. I had already ordered a replacement but was nervous about putting it on myself, so I decided to stop by the store for help. When I walked in, I expected to wait a long time. Instead, the manager, Chloe, greeted me right away and offered to help. She assured me I didn't need to wait and immediately took care of my screen. In less than five minutes, she replaced it perfectly--it looks fantastic. On top of that, Chloe was kind, professional, and carried a great conversation the entire time. I was in and out in no time and left very impressed with the level of service. Chloe is an amazing manager, and I'm so grateful for her help. Thank you! read more

Went in and stated my reason for the visit; was added to the waitlist with two others in front of me. The greeter disappeared immediately, another employee sat on a nearby couch chatting on his phone, a third employee went out to the parking lot for a smoke that turned into an extended amount of time because he was visiting with two people in the parking lot, a fourth was helping at the training (?) table. Never saw the two other customers waiting ahead of me. After being disregarded for an ample amount of time, I walked out. Who's being paid to manage this store? read more

My recent 2nd visit exceeded my expectations. Alexander was the very best. With a friendly, helpful attitude, he resolved my issues. Alexander is a standard by which all others are to be measured. The store manager very kindly asked and confirmed that my experience went well, my first visit a few days ago, not so much. The person did not seem happy or eager to perform his job. He seemed to get me done, even though I was purchasing a $2,500+ iPad and a new contract. I had to go to the Apple Store to confirm I was making the right choice, which I didn't, so my 2nd visit was to return and reorder a different new one. I am a 20-plus-year AT&T customer and do hope signal strength improves, as I have been considering other carriers. 5 stars to Alexander, he's worth asking and waiting for. read more

This is probably more of a reflection of AT&T business model, and perhaps even the industry instead of this particular location. The staff was friendly enough, and available, but they weren't able to help. I stopped in here to drop a phone from my plan (can't do here, can't do online, must call 800 number). Also sought to get a 1 generation old iPhone (iPhone 16 Pro Max). Nope - available on line, not in the store. All they seem to do here is sell you a new line with the most recent phone. We bought two Apple iPhones and one iWatch from this store a couple of weeks ago. We have been ATT customers for over twenty years. The phones operate properly but the watch does not. We returned and were told to make an appointment another day to meet the manager, which we did today. Without examining the watch or discussing the issue we were having, she brusquely told us we had just missed the 14 day warranty period and that it was therefore not her problem; and were told to call Apple. When we were spending several thousand dollars for the phones and watch, we were treated politely; but when we needed service after the sale, we were treated very poorly. I had an amazing experience here on 4/21. I went in to get a new phone (iPhone 16 pro max) - this is always exciting for me. A lady named Monet helped me out and the process was seamless. There was a long wait due to the AT&T outages recently in Santa Barbara (which the workers have nothing to do with; hearing how people were talking to the workers was disgusting! Grow up! ) anyways - I was in and out of there in like 45 minutes. She helped me trade in my old phone, upgrade to the newest one and save some money while doing so. Thank you Monet! read more

I had a great experience. Went around 10:30 and got served right away. Came for a phone upgrade, left with that AND a lower monthly bill. Quite different than what happens with Cox haha. Mari helped me, she was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable without being pushy. read more

Good, helpful, polite service, persistent at resolving an issue with my Iphone - Adrian Tapia was unusually good and deserves commendation. Although often ATT calling for tech support is helpful, yesterday hours were wasted on hold, being transferred, verifying my info repeatedly then waited for their overseas agents to return to the line, they never did, even though the call did not drop. I had AT&T for my cellular service along with AT&T Direct TV. Decided to switch to Comcast due to poor customer service. Cancelled AT&T effective 12-16-2021. Returned equipment to Direct TV. When I called to cancel my cell phone, they charged me $98 to pay off phone. Today I receive a email I owe $963.05 for 'equipment'. When I canceled there was no mention I would be penalized for switching carriers. If I would have been advised of the penalties I may have elected to stay until contract ended. When I called, AT&T refused to compensate or reduce fees. This is such bad business. Would never recommend or go back. read more

I came in because my previous phone was stolen so I ordered a new one but the actual phone was unable to make calls and the SIM card needed to be activated by someone at AT&T. I came in and Jake instantly greeted me, checked me in, and helped me. I thought it'd be more of a hassle but he was super quick and guided me throughout the whole process. The absolute worst customer service. I couldn't even get anybody to make a cash payment to. Store was only a quarter full of customers and the store sales people just were standing around mainly talking to each other. Totally ridiculous when you can't go into a store and make your payment. The store manager needs to be replaced with somebody who can train the staff regarding decent customer service. read more

I was shocked by an experience I had yesterday at this location. I went in to inquire about a recurring charge on my DirecTV bill that I had not been informed of when I signed up, and the salesperson was incredibly rude and offensive. He actually used the word "retard" to describe the DirecTV agent who originally signed me up, and was bristling with hostility towards me for asking questions about my bill. The manager had to intervene and call him off, and she apologized for his extremely unprofessional behavior. Eventually she was able to find answers for me. The sales team needs sensitivity and anger management training, big time. I was shaken up by this experience and I do not recommend this store. read more

This place is a one of the worse AT&T stores. I made appointment and I end up standing in-line like others. No management I asked for manager and none was available, 3 people were working and 2 took lunch at same time with lots of people in the line. I don't how AT&T accept these guys to represent them. They suck. Service is terrible.... no one is helpful. Waited for over an hour for help with an employees phone.... because I wasn't a target to sell a new service I received no attention at all. On the plus side I was able to use their WiFi to search YouTube to hopefully solve my problem.... Hopefully that's the first and last time In at&t. read more

Horrible customer service. I went in to ask a question regarding a phone that I purchase at their other location and a male employee rudely responded with "idk there may be a fee" he didn't even know what he was talking about. He just blurred out the first thing that came to mind. Rude and horrible customer service, so instead I will deal directly with corporate over the phone and file a complain against this location. This employees job is to provide basic customer service and he couldn't even do that properly, which explains why he is in a low skilled position. Based on the reviews for this location there seems to be a pattern of bad customer service, so obviously the manager is not doing his job. Step it up AT&T and hire competent people. read more

I decided I was just due for an upgrade. They sent me the new 13max and it is charging as I type this, can't wait! This is my go to spot for years now, I always make an appointment ahead of time, which I recommend unless you want to sit and wait and be frustrated and then end up not liking this store. Santa Barbara is a different bird and it's all about knowing the little tips and tricks to get things done. I'm serious, it's not for the faint of heart, but if your committed to wanting to be happy here, you will watch and learn from others who have got it down and don't struggle with parking or getting waited on. Poor customer service. Had to ask for the Manager. Turns out the Hotspot I received on my iPad for the past 2 years was discontinued for all iPad products without any notice over a month ago. This resulted in maxing out my Hotspot on my cell phone for which I could not increase my GB. After speaking with the Manager Jacob it was recommended I request an Elite Plan for a Business account. But I have to wait until tomorrow since the business office closes at 5 pm. I was asked to call 611 since I could not get an appointment tomorrow during the lunch hour since they are understaffed. My only solution was to apply for a Cox Hotspot pass for 1 week for $ 20. All this could have been explained several weeks ago when I received equally poor customer service from an agent who did not bother to understand the problem I was having. read more

My husband and I experienced the worst customer service at this store. After transferring our phone lines from T-Mobile & Verizon we went through the entire set-up process for 2 hours. When we were about to clear our old phones to turn in for the upgrade program I saw that there was an additional phone line added to my account on the new phone. Jason, the person helping us, took my new and old phone to his manager, Jake. After waiting 45 minutes I learned that Jason added the number (one number off from my current phone number) to my account during set up. He then tells me that I can no longer have the phone that we just transferred everything over to and they need to order me a new one that will be here in a few weeks. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he was busy on the computer and if I want to talk to him I need to go to his desk. Jake said the added phone line has been removed even though it's still showing up on my phone and I'm still receiving calls when someone dials that number. Not to mention through this process they refunded our card twice to repurchase the transactions on our card again. Then we find out my husbands phone line isn't working and he's only receiving text messages on his old phone and not his new one that Jason helped him set up. All Jake said was to wait and it's probably a delay in the transfer. That is not the case as he is still experiencing this. I asked for a credit for this 3 hour experience where we are leaving with 1 new iPhone that isn't even receiving calls or texts and another phone that will be here in "a few weeks." Jake said all he could do was waive the setup fees for the phones. The only reason we even opted for AT&T is because of their First Net program. We will never go to this store again. read more

I went in (after working a 12 hour shift) for something very simple. They put my name on the list. I was second on the list and there was no one else but one person on the list infront of me. I sat and waited facing away from the store on the couch, and waited and waited and waited. I started noticing more people were coming in and being helped that came in after me. I looked around for help and there was none. Only one guy on the floor helping some people that came after me! I finally found someone and his response was "Oh, did they forget you?" No s*** they forgot me. There was two other guys there in the back of the store that work there doing nothing. The guy fixed my simple problem after I asked if I could just do it myself if he told me how. I am very unhappy with this store and ATT in general. Their phone and chat service is no better and in fact THAT was why I went in to begin with bc the phone service screwed up my phone when they reset something. read more

This is more about AT&T as a company. Not a fan. Not at all. We just wanted to save... about 300-400 bucks a year by going to the competition. First we had to "unlock" our phones. Admittedly we did miss that email we were supposed to get to start the process. But why do we have to ask PERMISSION of the company to change service? Or leave the country? Another reason a person might need an unlock. After having missed that email, we had to wait another 24-48 hours (which is it?) to try again. It has now been FOUR DAYS. We try again each 24 hours. Every time we get a message that we have a request in process and can't proceed further. Finally we went into the store to try and get an insider to help (the one near Costco, though). They tried their best, I'll give that. We were told they were going to expedite the process from corporate. They sent me a text saying they "approved" my request. Gee thanks. I tried and ended up with the same error message. I was so livid I had my husband call customer support and after re-stating that we just wanted to get my phone unlocked, like 10 times before he was understood by the rep... she asks how many times I've tried to get this done. About a dozen by now, over 4 days, through every link or website address I could find. She then says that a person can only put in the wrong number so many times before the phone is "permanently" locked. So... they gave us the WRONG NUMBERS??? Is this how they thank us for seven (7) years of being their customers? They were not told we were jumping ship. We could be traveling for all they know. It's like they just don't care at all. I feel sorry for the folks in their stores, having to represent such a POS company. read more

I went here to go trade in a phone and the representative allowed the trade in on 4/06/22 and told me to come back in 30 days and returned my old phone. Went to go return the phone today and they are telling me now I cannot trade in my phone because it was marked as blacklisted. If this was the case, I would have NEVER traded in my phone at all and contacted customer service to see what the issue was. They did not offer any reimbursement for their mistake by allowing this and wanted to charge me a restocking fee to return it back as they already charged me for the phone and trade in, wtf. The manager needs to train their employees properly instead of giving out misinformation to their customers. I will now have to deal with AT&T customer service to get it off the black listed. Go to a different location and don't waste your time here. They do not know how to treat customers or have any customer service skills. Disappointing. read more

Yuck Yuck Yuck! Went in to find a phone and was greeted by employee sitting down saying may I check you in? I replied we are just looking at phones. His response (still sitting) was well if you want to talk to anyone then I need a name. I gave him name then proceeded to walk in and look at phones. Four more employees were sitting and chatting with each other ( all had name tags) was very put off by employee reception and lack of sincerity no one offered to help us. Obviously they do not need extra business or new business. We ended up buying a phone somewhere else and getting a plan else where. This is AT&T cooperate store!! I have been an AT&T customer for years and I have been going to the store and have never had an issue until now. We waited for 10 minutes to be checked in outside (per covid which I get). After we were checked in we were allowed to go inside, wait and look around. Once we were in there we waited for another 30 minutes before an employee had opened up after helping a previous customer. Not only did they not check the list of waiting ppl but helped a customer that had walked in two minutes prior. Another worker told us it shouldn't take long until someone helps us at that moment and didn't mention the fact that those people were three people behind on the list. Why have a check in list and process if you're not gonna use it or at least train your employees properly to follow a simple thing like a line. We walked out with not a single employee saying anything to us. Only reason I didn't give one star was because of all the past experiences I've had been good but with a completely new staff they're not doing too hot. read more

if I could give negative stars, I would. I don't normally leave reviews on places but over the years my family has been with AT&T, they have been the absolute worst. Today I went in to upgrade my phone , I had one last payment to make so I paid my phone off and was about to pre order my new phone but the guy that was helping my dad and I said that the bill had to be paid in order to upgrade my phone. On the phone, we were told that as long as the phone is paid off, I can upgrade the phone but once we go into the store, the worker that was "helping us" was just rude and didn't even seem to care about doing his job properly. He said and I quote, "why would the company loan you money when you haven't paid your bill" I'm sorry but last time I checked, a trade in is not a loan. They have these kids working at this phone store that have no idea what they're doing or talking about and they are just extremely rude and disrespectful. AT&T needs to really up their game and customer service because at this point, the whole company is a scam. they just care about taking your money and not helping you in any way, shape or form. read more

Every time I come here it's horrible. The employees think very highly of themselves. I was misled on insurance and have had a terrible experience dealing with staff in store. I would not recommend using att. And buying the phone thru apple is a much better idea. I have only bad experiences here and so do so many others. read more

Gosh, what a colossally unpleasant experience! AT&T mistakenly sent me a wrong phone. After a few phone conversations, they directed me to go to this store to exchange the phone for the one I desired. At the store, after waiting a half hour I spoke with Jake, an assistant manager. He was a remarkably unpleasant fellow, and in the end, we got into a shouting match. He said he couldn't help me with the phone. Despite being shipped the wrong phone and being told to come into the store where they could not fix this error (two mistakes) Jake felt compelled to argue with me that AT&T had made no mistakes, and my by now 3 hours of wasted time was not an issue. He proceeded to insult me. In addition, while at first he had said he would help me with the return, later he refused any assistance. I think this is the most unpleasant experience I've ever had with a salesperson. Of course he was managing the store - what normal salesperson would feel free to abuse a customer without worrying about the consequences. read more
