Nothing vague, they tell you exactly what they plan to do and a realistic estimate for the hours it would take. The other companies left lots of room for numbers to change, and even underestimated to get the job. CCAV has stuck to their quote and even credited back some time they didn't use. Lennon is a real pro, who explained to me that they were not trying to come in at the lowest number just to get the job, they quote what it will actually take to complete the job right. He intentionally made my system simple, and user friendly, so that any of my friends and family could understand it and work it easily. Also so there would not be issues needing to be fixed constantly. So far so good and there have been no problems. When there have been small issues, Lennon and his team ya e been very responsive, and have had the answers. Usually it's something I accidentally did, but they have still helped me. I installed a home theater, in ceiling speakers throughout the house, 3 rooms with tv's, automated lighting, a very strong internet network, security cameras and an automation system with Lutron. Their team was top notch during the wiring and the installation. I recommended CCAV to my good friend here in Santa Barbara and he has said they were the most professional team working on his Montecito estate. I have confidence to recommend them to anyone. VERY Unhappy Customer here. Central Coast AV / Ventura Smart Home installed a $34,000 AV system in…read moremy parents home under my supervision. This includes an over $6,000 Araknis internet system which they insisted upon instead of Google Wifi because they would use it to 'monitor, troubleshoot, and fix issues proactively and remotely'. The system has been really shoddy and super slow for years and we thought it was because of our ISP. We just upgraded to gigabit ethernet, got it working well from the modem, but once we plugged the modem into the expensive Araknis system they recommended, we're still getting speeds of 5mbps and it cuts in and out constantly. I reached out to Chris Wilson, who is an owner and did our original installation, a week ago, and got no response. I called multiple times and only got through once - a guy named Juan, who on Friday promised to set a site visit for Monday. I sent him an email with my information and thanked him. Today, he decided to instead reply and saying the following: "I am sorry to inform you, but it appears that your system is no longer under any warranty.  Additionally we can no longer service your system.  I apologize for the inconvenience." Central Coast AV will convince you you need more than you do, overcharge you, and then ignore you if you ever experience issues or need service. Stay away or they'll take advantage of you too!

We needed four OLED TVs mounted, and my husband was concerned about waiting to get them up given how thin they are. Shlomi offered to "private escort" our TVs, which included removing all four of them for the cost of what it would have run us for movers' insurance and boxes. He removed them all extremely quickly, drove them to our new house, and installed them on the walls before we even moved in, all for a super fair price. A few things that stood out (again): - He installed the entire Frame while I was on a work call. When my call ended, he was already finished, the TV was up, and everything was clean. Zero damage, zero mess, zero disruption. - The same patience and lack of ego from the doorbell project carried over. He could have just done it his way from the start, but he respected that I had a plan and earned his way into changing it. - The result looks exactly like the Frame is supposed to look: flush, clean, like art on the wall. Mark returned my call the next day, which was the *only* time he responded promptly. He said he would be in my area at the end the week, but that came and went without a call or text from Mark. I sent him text messages on Sept. 1 and Sept. 7, and finally got a response on Sept. 14, with Mark apologizing for not getting back to me. He indicated he could make something happen the following week, which I agreed to. On Sept. 21, I received a text from Mark indicating he needed to reschedule, as his young child was sick at home, and he needed to be there. Fair enough. On Sept. 27, I texted Mark again, seeking another time he could come out...CRICKETS! On Oct. 10, I texted him again, indicating that I would appreciate a response if he had any intention of working on my project...CRICKETS, to this day! Bottom line: I understand that "stuff" happens that adversely affects schedules, but no amount of "stuff" should prevent common courtesy from occurring - a simple return text or call indicating the problem, and this would have saved me the time of writing this poor review. The Audio Solution may be technically great, but I never got a chance to experience that - only extremely poor communication, or none at all. I can only assume that Mark didn't really want to do the job I need done, but instead of being up front with me, he produced excuses, or didn't communicate at all. POOR business model...CAVEAT EMPTOR: use The Audio Solution at your own risk, especially if you covet communication and follow through with the service you're using.
