I stopped at the store to figure out how to unlock my phone since I needed to activate a new international SIM card for a trip out of the country. The guy who waited on me, just wanted to get me out of there ASAP. When I asked if I could get my phone unlocked, he said, as long as it is paid for, you can get on the website and unlock it yourself. I said...I don't know where to go for that. He took my phone and typed in the web address and said...just go home and follow the instruction. EASY. I had to ask him to write the actual web address on a piece of paper, so I could do it at home like he asked me to do. I just felt like all he wanted was for me to get away, so he could make a commission on a new customer that needs a new phone or new plan. Just poor customer service. read more

BE AWARE!! Jeffery is a fraud and a liar! So when I came in switching from an android to an Apple phone and going on my aunts plan he told me my trade in would be 500! Then I had to come back bc they didn't have the iPhone I wanted with the larger memory! Well when I came back in he told me it would be 350 bc I had a small hairline crack in my screen but my phone worked the screen worked nothing wrong with it! Come to find out by customer service that he coded my Samsung 20 as non working and screen would not come on to not give me the 500!! What a fcken fraud!! I'm beyond pissed! The phone was over 1000! The SECOND( and i am not exaggerating here) you are noticed, you are greeted by a salesperson. A salesperson, I might add, with eyes full of warmth and kindness and severe desperation. But ignore that last thing you see in their eyes and focus on the warmth and kindness. Also, enjoy the "retail hovering". "Retail hovering" is when a salesperson follows you throughout the store, noting things that you are looking at. When they see an opening, they POUNCE, trying to make "an authentic connection." When you have grown uncomfortable with this type of service, feel free to leave. And that guilty feeling of going in just to look? Don't worry, it goes away. So enjoy the stifling grip of AT&T's in-person customer service. Their phones and service is fine and the store is located on the 3rd floor so prepare to ride the escalators. read more

A week ago, I purchased an AT&T branded Micro USB cable from the Providence Place location. Within 3 uses, the USB connector fell off. Now, normally, I wouldn't be upset. These things happen. This is where companies stand behind their products and services and take care of their customers. I went back to the store to swap out for a replacement. I was told that because I was not an AT&T customer, they did not save my receipt in their system. Therefore they could not help me. This is an AT&T product, not a 3rd party product. Why can't you enable your employees to help their customers. The fact that you can't search for a receipt of the customer isn't a wireless customer is ludicrous. The fact that you have to turn a customer away and have them throw $20 in the drain is even worse. read more

Came here to get a new iPhone here and expecting there to be people to help us out when we walk in the door (which is what happens when we walk into Verizon and other places). Unfortunately we had to find someone to help us out and when we were looking for our specific iPhone they did not carry it and they recommended us to go to the Apple store. We figured it would be better to get it through AT and T as things would be easier to sort out but getting the phone through Apple was just as easy. Not terrible service but not the best we have seen. 3 stars for our experience. read more

Walked in and greeted right away by a young man, he said he'll be right back to help me as he was finishing up a transaction. Then I was greeted by Jolene, as she was asked to help me while he finished up. My goal was to get the new Apple Watch as this is something I've been thinking about for a while. Jolene was fantastic as much as it was an easy sale she made the difference. Explained the options, synced it and made great conversation as we had to sit there while the watch linked up. Apple, AT&T REVIEW BAD EXPERIENCE WITH APPLE STORE AND AT&T. I went to the Apple Store today to buy a iPhone X. The Apple salesman, after picking out my iPhone and case, when looking at his computer, said Apple couldn't sell me a iPhone, because the Apple salesman said I had an overdue balance with my cellular provider, AT&T. So I went to the AT&T store and paid my $169 bill - the clerk there said my bill wasn't over due. I went back to the Apple Store, showed my AT&T receipt of full payment, but the payment hadn't registered on the Apple Store's computer. The Apple Store did NOT allow me to buy the iPhone! So, two hours of my time waisted! My AT&T bill should have nothing to do with my purchase at the Apple Store! Is this COLLUSION BETWEEN APPLE AND AT&T, only for corporate GREED and profit? And the consumer be damned! Is it because Apple sells millions of iPhones and accessories to AT&T? Do you think this OUTRAGEOUS and UNCONSCIONABLE? After it taking 3 total orders to get one added line ships and activated through AT&T on to my account I find on my bill this month that one of the cancelled quote unquote failed orders has been added to my line with an activation fee shows no usage data phone text or anything as well it's an iPhone which I would never have on my account. So I spend another hour-and-a-half and chat with a representative who transfers me twice then only to say they have to fill out a form and request and may take 1 to 3 days and then it may be resolved by the 11th but in the meantime my bill still shows a phone that I never ordered purchased or authorized and that I'm being billed $70 for that line. As they passed AT&T employee trainer and supervisor and dealing with their disregard for customer experience I swore I would never use this company. Unfortunately our area is limited 4 providers. Horrible service. In addition just like with any business I know lots of people who still work for this company both at retail locations and call center and they are amazing wonderful people who value their job and how they do their job. As well as Representatives who had to deal with me very well. Worst customer service I have EVER experienced. Went into the store looking to get a new phone and trade in my phone. Was not able to trade in right away because my phone did not have enough room to back it up. I had to take both phones home then bring back my phone for a trade in. When I went to restore my new phone I took off the screen protector film and noticed scratches along the side of my phone that were covered by the film. The phone was in the box since I left the store so there was no way I caused the scratches. When I brought back the new phone to show the employees they said I can get a new phone if I pay a $55 restocking fee after I just paid $1000 for a new phone. I spoke to the manager and he said he cant wave any fees and that I need to call customer service. I called customer service and they said only the store manager can wave fees in store. Now I have to wait until the stores managers boss reaches out to me. This should not be acceptable. I leave for Europe in a few days and my current phone does not work since apple products shit the bed after a couple years. DONT GO TO THIS STORE. read more

Waited for 15 minutes before leaving and going to Verizon. There were several associates behind the counter. When i asked for a little help, they mentioned that there was someone would be with me shortly. They then continued to socialize and chat amongst one another. No one made an attempt to help me and once help arrived they assisted someone else. The staff didn't make any attempt to direct him towards me, and once they saw he had begun speaking to another customer they continued on chatting. I ported 2 of my numbers on my line from another network to at&t, so in the program of trade-in which i made in a AT&T store in providence place mall on DEC 24th-2016, I got some store credit for both my phones. So i was looking on some devices on store and the rep suggested me and my friend to but apple watch and beats headset, he said as we have store credit we get those both devices free of cost with out any charge down or monthly, He even spoke with the manager of the store as said those both devices were FREE of cost. For the next 2 months i didn't get a chance to look at my bill. Then when i observed i saw those devices were being charged in the from of subscription for the past 3 months. So i raised a concern with the store asking them y- they wanted me to come to store. I said i moved to Illinois so its not possible to come there. They told to contact customer care. I went to multiple AT&T stores here to make them talk to them. So at last i fed up with going i raised a case(CM20170321_123278129)about month ago from this date. Initially they said 1 week after 1 week when i checked back they said there was some problem with case they corrected it and submitted it again. After this the next 3 times i called them i still here the same reason. They say there is some data missing hear the whole story again and say they corrected it and submitted it again and no answer. Last time when i called them on 4/6/2017 a rep said that there was still something missing listened the whole story again, and said she submitted it again. I asked her that i want a talk to manager. She then replied that she can't transfer to them, but i would be getting a call back in 3 BUSINESS days. I am fed up with this after 40 to 50 calls and roaming from store to store. i still don't have a answer to my issue. I even said them when i called that i can't take this anymore i can return those devices i don't want to see them in my sight with all these going around. Me and a couple of friends went to the store to get a family plan. We wanted to change to this option given the case we could keep our current phone numbers and get a slight discount compared to our respective plans. When we arrived we were welcomed by Eric and he was actually quite nice. He walked us through the possible plans and the prices (such as 110$ for 5 people and 25GB). However, he did not mention that we have to pay 20$ in addition to that in any word, even though we were asking a few times. After setting up the plan he got the new SIM cards. Then one person after the other person got the information got the sudden information that it would not be possible to keep our former number unless we paid around 150$, even though we told him that this would be a crucial aspect for us. Being there for almost two hours already we just went with it and got a new phone number each of us. After then setting up everything we asked again how much it would cost per person and suddenly Eric came up with a price that was much higher (190$ instead of 110$) and showed us each persons share as if it would have been clear from the beginning. At this point we started complaining that we haven't been informed about the price properly and Eric proceeded to get the manager named Gustavo. Gustavo was standing there with an annoyed face asking us what he could do for us? We answered by asking him, what could be done? His answer was: Basically nothing, we could just change to another plan. So bottomline: When you want to get a family plan there be sure to inform you on your own before you ask them since they will not be honest at all and promise things that are not true at all! read more

I wish I could give 10 stars, I had the best experience at AT&T with Casey, the sales rep. He helped me pick out the perfect phone and open a new account. He was so professional, easy to talk to, and knowledgable. There was a glitch with their server when we were cashing out, so Casey and his manager, Gustavo, stayed after the store closed to make sure everything was perfect for me. It was the best customer service I've had from a cell phone store. You can tell these two are passionate about their jobs and they go over and beyond for their customers. I'm telling everyone I know who is in the market for a new phone to go see Casey and Gustavo. My boyfriend who lives in Newport is going to drive an hour to upgrade his phone with Casey, because he is that great of a customer service rep. read more

I went into the store to purchase a new number with the sim. There was this guy who was white who gave us the worst customer service ever. We as a customer were standing and he sat down watch tv on the round table at his own leisure to tell us about the number. We asked for more options and he said you need to make a decision in a minute which I think the attitude was damn impulsive and insulting. It just shows how desperate these guys are to do a favor and asking us to make a leave. Highly disappointed. Could give these guys -2stars if I had an option. Never going back again. I had an awful AT&T experience starting when I went into the Providence Place Mall AT&T to file a claim for a cracked screen. Daquan the representative that assisted me logged me onto a nearby Ipad and sat back down and started texting. After unsuccessfully being able to log onto my account I was directed to call customer service in which I did. I was told due to a breach in data, my password was set to XXXX. I was then transferred to the insurance company and entered my new passcode into the automated touch system which eventually granted me access to an actual representative. The representative then asked me for my passcode in which I replied XXXX and was told they couldn't assist with my claim because it was incorrect. I then hung up the phone and went back to the web app to file my claim in which the XXXX password worked and my claim was submitted. To not be without a phone a purchased a $50 phone for the two days it would take for my replacement to come in. Two days later arrives my new phone and I excitedly open it and call AT&T to activate my new phone. They had issues doing so and concluded it was I was calling from the phone that I was trying to deactivate so i should hang up and they would call me back when it was activated. Guess what? They never called back and not only was my new phone not activated, my temporary phone was deactivated. Being without phone I attempted live chat. Nope, they couldn't help and instructed me to "call" customer service despite my not having an active phone. SO, early the next morning I went back into the Providence Place Mall to see if I could finally get the issue resolved. I walked into the store to Gustavo sitting at a table playing with his cell phone. Without moving an inch, Gustavo raised his eyes as if I was interrupting him. I went through the entire story and got this empty stare as if I robbed poor little Gustavo's lunch money. I had forgotten my ID so he sent me on my way. After remembering I had another for of ID I went back in and asked if it was acceptable. Gustavo again enthralled with his phone said no. I pled with my case with Gustavo saying I did my part as a consumer and not only followed every step AT&T asked of me but purchased a second phone which was deactivated and worthless. Finally he said he could give me another SIM card and that I could call customer service to activate. Why Gustavo, why couldn't you have said that from the beginning? After Gustavo's feeble attempt to posture and intimidate me I asked who is manager was and he snickered as he called his manager over. The manager at least was tactful and listened with understanding as Gustavo stood there, arms crossed, shaking his head like a child. I did manage to eventually get my phone activated after calling customer service with the new SIM card. It just shouldn't be that hard when you are in an AT&T store in front of a trained representative. read more
