This place is incredibly shady. They had us sign a blank screen, claiming it was for Verizon to…read moreupgrade our device. Later upon viewing the receipt, what they've actually done is tack on extra fees for some Ready?Go! Package and a REDUX membership. We were not asked if we wanted these, nor told that we would be paying them. When I called to ask about them, they first tried to claim that they were in place of Verizon's standard $40 upgrade fee (I called Verizon; this is false). Then they claimed that the Ready?Go! package was for data transfer to the new device, which they didn't actually do for us. They also charged us $10 more in MA tax than it should have been at 6.25% of the cost of the phone. I called them and they refuse to refund the services we never agreed to, so I opened a dispute with my credit card company. I'm also filing a formal complaint with Verizon to revoke their status as an authorized retailer, and I highly suggest you all do the same. Let's put these criminals out of business.

Tonight I had help from Will to buy a new cordless phone for Dad's house, a cable to connect my laptop to Dad's monitor, and headphones. Will was super polite and knowledgeable. I know some folks like to diss on these big stores, and sure, they could be more densely staffed, but what store today couldn't be? Bottom line is that the people I have met at Staples are invariably supportive and patient with both me and my father (a big fan of the copy/publishing department for help with his writing handbook). It turned out the phone was locked to T-Mobile so I had to find somewhere to unlock it for me. This was the fourth place I came, after being recommended here by the Verizon workers of the Holyoke Mall. I went there one day and long story short the guy said he could unlock it for me, great! But it would take at least 3 days. I had a working phone so I didn't really care. Three days pass and no call from the guy. Went to the mall about a week and a half later and he said "I need to talk to you." He then proceeded to look all around for what I was assuming was my phone. He then tells me my phone was STOLEN OFF THE COUNTER. He apologized over and over but what good would that do? The cost to unlock the phone was 160. He pulled out a bag of 'brand new phones' and offers me an iPhone 7Plus for 240 because that's as low as he'd go. I explained to him I'm a new mom who has no income and I couldn't do that. He was really annoying me at this point so he said he'd install a glass screen protector and give me a case free. I said yes just to get out of there. I should NOT have paid as much as I did, THEY had my phone stolen. 100% not going back there to fix a phone again!!

My Mac computer had an issue that took several hours to solve (it wasn't even an Apple-based software product that they were helping me with), and throughout the visit multiple Apple staff worked collaboratively to fix the problem (at NO CHARGE to me, I might add) and my Macbook is running better than it has in years. Thank you all so much for your skill and your perseverance, all the while maintaining a very friendly, fun atmosphere!

There are always ample number of knowledgeable and friendly staff who'll address all of your tech questions to the best of their capabilities. The store is quite large and contains all of the newest technology. Warning though, if the staff does not know the answer to your question, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY! I just spent 40 min in the store today while two different assistants tried to solve my back-up issues. The Verizon house staff were very patient with me, and it wasn't their fault. At the end, the Verizon Tech Support people just hung up, and left my issues un-answered....god verizon sucks. ...but, this place is worth looking into if you're not tech savy or if you're interested in seeing all of the new phones. Tried calling customer service multiple times, going to my local retail store, all to no avail. The local retail store staff suggested that I try this W. Springfield location as it's a corporate store. So today I stepped in for the first time, and politely asked if I could speak to a manager. A man by the name of "John" claimed he's the manager and asked what I came for. As soon as he realized he's not making any money off of me, his whole approach for the entire 10 minutes or so I was there was deflect and dismiss. The first thing out of his mouth was something like "I can't help you here, you have to call customer service." I politely asked if he could hear my experience not being able to get my phone unlocked by customer service. His response was "you can tell me, but I'm not going to be able to help you." While I understand there might be limitations as to what a store could or could not do to help, it's this person's condescending and dismissive attitude that is unsettling. At one point, he said something to the tune of "why don't you get a new phone." I quickly realized that this person had zero interest in helping, but I still politely asked for his business card, to which he responded "we don't have cards." I then thanked him for his time and left. The entire interaction lasted less than 10 minutes. I have to say, this was one of the most unpleasant experience I've ever had from a customer-facing person. Throughout the interaction, he was disrespectful, dismissive, inpatient, and outright rude. This was the first time I stepped into this store, and I imagine this might be one of the biggest Verizon stores in the area. I don't have experience with other staff in this store, but this first experience with this one person, although short, has left a extremely poor impression. I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone I know.
