The AstraZeneca Cafeteria is a slightly above par corporate cafeteria. They have the following stations: juice/dairy, dessert, beverage (both fountain and bottled), soup, deli sandwich, grill (for fish or grilled sandwiches), meet counter, wok counter, salad bar, and snack area. There is also a mini-starbucks station open beyond lunch room hours. The food is mostly static, except for the meat counter and wok area. What it lacks in creativity, it makes up for with consistency. Each day you can find a reliable sandwich or salad, a new dessert and a new meat dish. Although I typically get a deli sandwich or salad for health reasons, Jervi's usually servin' up somethin fierce at the meat counter.
Beyond the food, the staff is an all-star cast of characters that serve with a smile. My colleagues and I often debate who is the MVSM (most valuable staff member) based on a set of versatile attributes like food preparation, customer service, varied lunch room duties, and overall demeanor. Sadly, Mr. Bo Jangles, an early round fantasy pick, has been dismissed for unpublished reasons. We're waiting for someone off the bench to step up their lunch room game, but we'll see if it ever happens.
