I see why Main Event has a pull. They have bowling, billiards, and even laser tag and gravity ropes. There wasn't much explanation available for gravity ropes or laser tag and I kinda felt like "just there" and while I could figure things out, since I am not in the best physical shape and partially because I coordinated a lot of planning probably, it was a bit overwhelming for me. Since it was my first time with gravity ropes, I was there with two friends the first time around. That's how I learned about gravity ropes, but they are only open Friday through Monday and not on a Wednesday night. I don't remember what the staffer told me Wednesday night, but I tried calling to see if I needed to reserve Gravity Ropes and since I couldn't get through, I figured I would just wait until I got on-site to reserve a time slot. Since my friends were coming later than requested, I had to wait until the last person came in order for me to request a time for our entire group to be together for it. This was all fine. Gravity ropes, you get strapped in safety gear and then you figure out how to go across the obstacles. Some obstacles don't have rope railings and the zip lining has no railings of course (but i didn't realize it was zip lining until I was there lol). but you might hold on to your rope to slide to the other side even if you would get rope burn. Laser tag has a name for the suit you put on so that you know your score but that wasn't apparent and the landscape for the laser tag was eh. Not many places offer laser tag and gravity ropes- but I think I will venture elsewhere on my own. Signs saying if it's your first time for laser tag or gravity ropes at our facility, asking a staffer could be helpful so that staffers don't have to unnecessarily repeat themselves etc. My blue slushie came out fine. They also offer alcoholic slushies here which is a cool option and offers that added party atmosphere and flavor options that some people like myself like. I didn't get one because I didn't want one before doing gravity ropes and my group didn't stay long enough for me to have one as others wanted to go elsewhere. I enjoyed their VR machines but some parts may be not working super good. I heard the food was typical arcade quality bad. Some of the crowd's lack of class here somewhat resemble the apathy and exhaustion from some of the staff that work here. Particularly some of the people who looked like they barely passed for 21. Two of them cut in line for gravity ropes in the middle of my group but they couldn't go on because they didn't get strapped on. A group of girls didn't seem to pay attention to the regular line for signing up for billiards or bowling, and assumed they were there first. I wasn't in a hurry and just let them ahead but I didn't care for the sense of entitlement. Also, It feels like there could be a few more staff on this busy Sat night too. The experience was discombobulating for me and I would only go again w friends if they wanted me to go. read more

the service is atrocious. amanda at the front charged my fiance with the wrong table and we asked for a refund. amanda said the transaction went through and walked away without assisting us. it took us talking to numerous staff to get our issue solved and a refund. the manager is very helpful. there was many issues with our orders and the service at the table was a mess. we were served with the wrong food numerous times and the treatment from the waiters were terrible. many games in the arcade were out of service or just missing parts to them. main event used to be great but now its just a run-down mess. read more

I decided for my birthday this year while in Delaware, I wanted to try Main Event. My husband and I went on a weekday around 11:30am. We were able to get the deal before noon of $14.99 for 50 credits for the arcade, bowling and laser tag all for $14.99! Since it was my bday the employee was nice enough to do something a little special for us! Thanks again! We had a great time playing all of the games, bowling and laser tag. There were no lines and very little people here, which was a plus! 4 stars all around for our overall experience. I hate to leave a bad review and this may be my first. We went Thursday and it was SO bad. No clear signage of how to pay for things, bundle deals, etc. and very rude staff. We paid $80+ for 500 credits, but so many games were 7.5-14 credits it went extremely fast. And many games you would swipe your card, the game wouldn't work, but it would still steal your credits (which workers did reissue thankfully.) Other games like skee ball only had 1-2 balls. Basketball was missing balls, and the clown knock down game let one ball out at a time so you time out before even hitting 4. The biggest issue was the workers. They were SO obviously high and smelled very strong of marijuana. One girl was sitting at the desk for the prize shop, laying her head on the counter and nodding off! When we told a manager she said "oh she isn't on shift" but she was then seen using the computer and giving kids prizes. High as a kite. We told her it's not our business that she smokes but the smell is aggravating to others, especially kids. She said she didnt smoke. That smell and her actions said otherwise. We tried to buy a family pizza deal with one large cheese pizza and four drinks. We were told it was $27 at the front desk. At the pizza parlor is said $35. We stood at the ordering desk for about 15 minutes to no service. I asked the bartender nearby if she could take our order and she said it would be $54!! Then she ignored us. We left, to go get pizza elsewhere and avoid the crazy weed smell. Walked out the front door to a young male employee smoking weed OUTSIDE the front doors! What is going on?? I know it's recreational now but come on! Kids wanted to go back for laser tag but I refused to give them another $44 and i told them we would find another place. My first time will be my last time. This is such a cool place with a lot to offer, especially for multi-generation gatherings. I was invited by my brother who wanted to enjoy celebrating his bday with his children of different ages. We came here on a Sunday evening around 6:30 and the place was busy but we were able to be seated quickly in the dining area and our food came out fairly quick. The food was OK overall - my faves were the dry rub wings (it was suggested that we order them fried hard and we did; great suggestion!!!); my other fave was the spinach artichoke dip - it was so good that we ordered this twice. I had a Shirley Temple to drink, which was good also; a little on the sweet side though. I also ordered a Beyond burger, which came with fries and a side salad (Caesar) - the burger was cooked a little too hard, my fries were cold and the salad was had too much dressing. The garden salad appeared to be the better salad option as it was not served pre-tossed in dressing. We played shuffle board, billiards and a few of the arcade games; we did not bowl because we lost track of time and had to head back home but we all enjoyed ourselves. My visit to The Main Event arcade was a mixed bag of excitement and disappointment. The sheer variety of games available was impressive, offering a nostalgic throwback to classic arcade favorites and modern interactive experiences. However, a significant downside was the noticeable number of broken games. On the positive side, the atmosphere was vibrant, with neon lights and lively music setting the perfect gaming mood. The redemption counter added an extra layer of fun, enticing players to try their luck at winning prizes. The ticket system for earning rewards was well-organized and enjoyable, especially for families and groups. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by the numerous broken games scattered throughout the arcade. It was disheartening to find some of my favorites out of order or malfunctioning. I kept a list in no particular order of the broken or malfunctioning games. I came to main event for the first time for a birthday party. After checking in the person just pointed to another worker who was just as confused as I was as to what was happening. Communication is key especially when working in a customer service area. There is a designated section for parties which I thought was nice. I wasn't impressed with the pizza. After taking two bites, I realized the pizza was under done. There are plenty of games to choose from, although a few of the games did not work after swiping the game card. Came to this location for the first time on a Saturday night and this place was packed. Upon arriving we decided to get on the waitlist for the lanes, shoe rental is $4.25. Walked around to see if we could be put on the list for laser tag or the climbing ropes and everything was sold out so the only thing we were able to do was bowl and eat some food. The bar area was very busy but our service Skyler was absolutely amazing keeping up with the six people that we have in our group. She make sure we had drinks or food was good. The only thing I can laugh about was my chicken sandwich did not come with sauce and when I asked for some, I got a whole bottle of mayo lol so be prepared. The tequila sunrise was my favorite and the vibes are great. This place is definitely family oriented, high energy, and a good time with decent food, younger staff that is polite and an array of things to do and see. Be sure to leave on time because they cut everything off 3 minutes till closing to try not to print pictures like us at the last minute. The bathrooms were the worst part of the whole experience tho. Came here specifically for bowling. We did not make a reservation which for a fri night was a bit of a risk... we were told it was a 30 min wait for a lane which was fine ! We spent the time in the arcade area until the lane was ready. I will say we came at an amazing time (7:30) the arcade was not packed and we were able to get to the games we wanted with ease. I like the card option (no more tokens!!) and the fact that it saves all your reward points. Technology is wow. Also I paid $27 for 140 credits and still had some left on my card at the end of the night. I'm a bit of a germ freak but they had plenty of wipes, sanitizer, and trash cans in the area to make you feel comfortable. I wasn't impressed with the game selection to be honest. I wish there were more old school games but beggars can't be choosers. If you are looking to stack your points the basketball games will give you the best rewards FYI. As for the bowling, I enjoyed this part the best! They give you bumpers and dinosaurs (helps kids slide the ball down) if your lil tike needs it. There is a max of 5 ppl per lane. As far as food/drink goes we didn't partake. My niece did want soda and a 12 oz cup was almost $4 but you can refill. All in all I would go back. The customer service is horrible. The kids that work there don't give a sh!t or are clueless. They wanna collect a paycheck without doing any work. What's worse is my 9 year has been here for 3 birthday parties in the past year and his friends said the parties are boring and don't want to go back. Sorry guys this is a long one ! I'm from Nj and this place and lucky snake arcade in AC is about the same time. Unfortunately I was out voted and we ended up coming here for a birthday celebration. This place was terrible from the moment we started walking out the car. At least 30-40 people just hanging out front and two different arguments going on at once . Then you walk in the lobby and even more teens hanging out being in the way and not letting you walk . The restaurant: Terrible is an under statement . We wait at the entrance to be seated for about 10 minutes then we go to the ticket desk but he can't find anyone either so he tell us to go seat ourselves. But of the 6 tables that were empty the 6 tables were dirty after another 10 minutes of standing in the middle of the floor like a group of weirdos my wife decided to go talk to someone and after still waiting we had to clean our own table grab our own menus from the dirty tables . I was so excited to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday here last month with some good food, drinks, and games, but we were all extremely disappointed with the experience. I can justify giving it at least one star because the laser tag was fun, and the staff in that particular area were friendly and helpful. We started in the "restaurant," which is a seat-yourself mess. There were small groups seated at large tables, and many tables that were open but only because they were covered in the previous dinner guests' half-eaten meals and empty drink glasses. We couldn't get the attention of the wait staff, who were actively avoiding eye contact, so I went to talk to one of them at a small kiosk to ask if they could send someone to bus our table... 15 minutes later, we bused our own table, stacked the dirty dishes on another table, and wiped down our chairs as best we could. Ten minutes after that, someone came over to ask whether we needed the table cleaned. We steered him toward the stack of dishes we'd moved and asked him if he could ask our waiter to come by and take our order. The menus were as sticky and dirty as the tables had been, but we figured out what we wanted. We waited another 10 minutes, but our waiter didn't show up, so we decided to just use the POS machine at the table to place our order. The first one we tried wasn't working. The second one worked, but we couldn't place alcoholic drink orders with it. So a group of us went to the bar to place our drink orders while the rest of the group placed our food orders. At this point, we had seated ourselves, cleaned our own table, ordered our own food, and delivered our own drinks... I about lost at the end of our dinner, when the POS machine asked how much we'd like to leave in tip. Ridiculous. When we finally got our food, it was clear that sticking around had been a mistake. The fries tasted as though they'd been freezer burned before being dropped in a fryer, the burgers were tasteless, the buns weren't toasted, and the pretzel bites were just OK. Thank goodness we had gone to fetch our alcoholic drinks -- they were the highlight of the meal. This is about the crappiest "restaurant" model I've encountered, and it was an awful way to start our evening celebration. For future visitors, I highly recommend you go to Shake Shack, which is right across the parking lot, and skip the dining experience at Main Event. The price is about the same, the food is better, and you won't have to work for your meal. The games were typical for what passes as an arcade -- lots of racing, a few first person shooter games, mostly simple stuff that non-gamer-types and young kids can easily figure out. We didn't try the high-wire or bowling, which looked interesting, but we did two rounds of laser tag, which was extremely fun. It's located in the back left-side of the building, near the ticket/prize shop. A brief video with instructions plays, and a staff person is on hand to answer questions. Once you're inside, there are two levels for you to run around, tagging your opponents as many times as possible before time is up. Laser tag is a separate cost, but it's worth it. I recommend not buying a game card at all, and just going straight back to the ticket/prize shop and buying your laser tag tickets. I thought this might be a good place for my daughter's party next year, and I saw a positive review about a large group event that was hosted, but I'm really not interested in going back to Main Event. There are other laser tag places we can go to for a less expensive, less frustrating celebration. read more

Finally got around to trying Main Event recently and had a great weekday date night! We wound up taking advantage of their Monday Madness specials that start after 4pm each Monday and include $10.95 for unlimited video games OR unlimited activities (bowling, pool, ropes course, laser tag). For the video game special, you can buy one video game card to share (and take turns), which worked well for us, but if you want to play competitively against someone, you'll need a second card as they lock the card for a short period after you start a game. They have a wide variety of games including skeeball, basketball shooting, one that mimics beer pong, Guitar Hero, Pacman, and all of the other usual arcade games. Without the unlimited special, each game was $1-1.50 and costs would easily add up. We wound up just paying for bowling ($7.95 per person per hour with shoe rental) as we didn't want to do the other activities included in the Monday special. In our hour, we were able to play 3 games. We enjoyed the animations on the scoreboard that put your face on various bodies... very cute. They offer full service for food and drinks while you are bowling, though we didn't indulge. All in all, we had a really fun and affordable evening. I'm not sure I'd rush back on a weekend (it's got to be packed and expensive!), but I would definitely do Monday Madness again! read more

Despite the terrible service the place is well decorated, clean and all machines functioned properly. After I played a few games I went to the bar to order a drink. The bartender looked right at me then walk off to the back and began speaking to another employee. How rude is that? The only time my family recieved decent customer serice was when we ordered our food This place is over priced and has the worst customer service every. I don't recommend coming here. Went there for New Year's Eve to celebrate with some family and friends and the place wasn't supposed to close until 1 am as noted on google, their website and multiple other sites. Five minutes before midnight everything was shut off, games, bowling, TV's, EVERYTHING! Then security people went around rudely telling everyone that they had to leave, that it was closed and when questioned what was going on was told that it was above their pay grade and if we had an issue to take it up with corporate. The employees didn't even know what was going on. Everyone ended up standing outside and doing the countdown in the parking lot. What a miserable way to spend a birthday and new years. Will never go back here and I hope others who experienced this or hear about it don't go there either read more

So this place gets a 3 star because of the wait time . Here's the story : Our reservation was at 10 pm -- we got there and no one was at the front desk to greet us , check in , or give us our shoes for at least 15-17 mins. -- which ultimately cut into our bowling time that was prepaid online. We finally get our lane , and was told a waiter would be over to take our food order . -- no one showed . We looked for a manger , it's about 10:45 ... kitchen closes at 11pm. Finally the manger comes over and personally takes our food and drink order. The drink was weak but good. The food was hot and fresh ! I enjoyed the atmosphere with bowling , the games were fun.
