The lady at the counter acted like it was a bother for her to do anything for customers. We decided to bowl two games to start. Paid and got our shoes. Mine were too small so I went up to counter and lady acted weird that I asked for a different size. When bowling our first frame the score counter thought we had bowled our last frame. Went to counter again and the lady was irritated again. Then when we bowled our last frame it messed up again, so again, I had to go up to the counter and the lady really got irritated and treated me like I did not know the rules of bowling. While we were getting ready to bowl our second game they placed a group of 8 young guys next to us that did not know or care, about bowling etiquette. My husband had to ask one of them to move out of his way since he was standing very close to our lane. And of course, they were loud and rowdy. It was not a good experience for our first time at this place and we will not go back. Next time we will go to Milford and my guess is that any place will be better than Bowlerama in Dover, DE. First of all, I think the price is a bit high for the little it includes. I think it was $12 per kid (adults free) but all that gets you is access to the climbing/slide area. You have to buy a card for all the games, rides and other activities. However, it was nice to let our kids run around for a bit, although of course they didn't want to spend time in the climbing area when there were games and other attractions all around. One other nice thing is you can leave and come back all day long. We choose to grab lunch elsewhere and come back for some more fun. Don't think I would be back but happy it was available when we needed somewhere to go!

There wasn't much explanation available for gravity ropes or laser tag and I kinda felt like "just there" and while I could figure things out, since I am not in the best physical shape and partially because I coordinated a lot of planning probably, it was a bit overwhelming for me. Since it was my first time with gravity ropes, I was there with two friends the first time around. That's how I learned about gravity ropes, but they are only open Friday through Monday and not on a Wednesday night. I don't remember what the staffer told me Wednesday night, but I tried calling to see if I needed to reserve Gravity Ropes and since I couldn't get through, I figured I would just wait until I got on-site to reserve a time slot. Since my friends were coming later than requested, I had to wait until the last person came in order for me to request a time for our entire group to be together for it. This was all fine. Gravity ropes, you get strapped in safety gear and then you figure out how to go across the obstacles. Some obstacles don't have rope railings and the zip lining has no railings of course (but i didn't realize it was zip lining until I was there lol). but you might hold on to your rope to slide to the other side even if you would get rope burn. Laser tag has a name for the suit you put on so that you know your score but that wasn't apparent and the landscape for the laser tag was eh. Not many places offer laser tag and gravity ropes- but I think I will venture elsewhere on my own. Signs saying if it's your first time for laser tag or gravity ropes at our facility, asking a staffer could be helpful so that staffers don't have to unnecessarily repeat themselves etc. My blue slushie came out fine. They also offer alcoholic slushies here which is a cool option and offers that added party atmosphere and flavor options that some people like myself like. I didn't get one because I didn't want one before doing gravity ropes and my group didn't stay long enough for me to have one as others wanted to go elsewhere. I enjoyed their VR machines but some parts may be not working super good. I heard the food was typical arcade quality bad. Some of the crowd's lack of class here somewhat resemble the apathy and exhaustion from some of the staff that work here. Particularly some of the people who looked like they barely passed for 21. Two of them cut in line for gravity ropes in the middle of my group but they couldn't go on because they didn't get strapped on. A group of girls didn't seem to pay attention to the regular line for signing up for billiards or bowling, and assumed they were there first. I wasn't in a hurry and just let them ahead but I didn't care for the sense of entitlement. Also, It feels like there could be a few more staff on this busy Sat night too. I came to this facility immediately after being discharged from the emergency room, hoping for a…read moresafe and supportive detox experience. Unfortunately, from the moment I arrived, things went downhill. Upon arrival, I was told to remove phone numbers from my phone before it was locked away. My luggage was taken, and I was told I wouldn't receive my clothes for 24-48 hours. I asked if I could at least have one outfit, and a security guard told me yes after checking my belongings. When I arrived on the unit, the tech who greeted me offered no orientation at all--no explanation of where I was, what the rules were, or what I was supposed to do. I had to rely entirely on other patients for basic information. Later, when I asked the tech to check with the security guard about my clothes, it seemed like there had been a shift change, because another guard denied any knowledge of that conversation. The tech told me she would get me one outfit, but throughout the day she kept giving me different excuses, clearly just trying to get me out of her face. Before her shift ended, she told me she'd get my clothes at 8 a.m. the next day. That didn't happen. I went over 48 hours without showering. When I continued to ask for my belongings, she told me there were people who had "been waiting way longer than me" and had a clear attitude. I finally snapped and was ready to leave until two counselors stepped in, convinced me to stay, and immediately got my clothes. Once that happened, my mood and outlook improved significantly. Sleeping here was awful. The nurses wake you up every four hours to take vitals, which is incredibly disruptive when you're detoxing. I barely slept at all. Phone access was another huge issue. The website is misleading--it does not clearly explain that phone calls can only be made in front of counselors, and at the time there was only one counselor available. That counselor was constantly busy, making it extremely difficult to call my family and let them know I was okay. I briefly saw a doctor who prescribed my antidepressant medication. However, I was told I had to wait for the pharmacy to deliver it--and it never came during the entire four days I was there. As a result, I suffered from night terrors, hallucinations, and extreme irritability, all of which could have been avoided. Many of the nurses were rude and dismissive. One serious incident involved a new roommate who began stealing my belongings. When I raised concern, a nurse mocked me by saying, "You're getting mad over a sandwich?"--completely missing the point that I had my wallet and valuables in the room. Another nurse (a heavy-set Black male nurse) told us he wasn't moving anyone and that if we fought, we'd both be kicked out. Instead of de-escalating, he and another nurse were provoking and unprofessional. I requested a supervisor. Thankfully, the director and her assistant handled the situation professionally, de-escalated it, and treated me with respect. Another major issue: this facility does not allow you to only detox. They push for a full rehab stay, and this was not clearly communicated upfront. I specifically came for detox only. Group therapy was also poorly managed. Detox groups were constantly interrupted by staff and rehab patients walking in mid-session--even while people were venting. It was disrespectful, disruptive, and made it hard to feel safe opening up. Overall, the facility felt severely understaffed, and asking for help often made me feel like a burden rather than a patient in need of care. The Positives The one standout counselor was Mr. James--an older, wise, kind man who was approachable and genuinely supportive. He made a difference. The food was also very good. I genuinely enjoyed every meal--breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Final Thoughts This place has potential, but serious changes need to be made in staff professionalism, communication, patient safety, and honesty about services offered. If you're considering coming here, know exactly what you're signing up for, ask direct questions, and advocate for yourself aggressively--or bring someone who can.
