Great option if you need an eye doctor in Arlington Heights!! I came across Assure and am glad I gave their office a try! They are conveniently located in downtown Arlington Heights. Parking is a bit limited in the surface lot, but garage spots are easy nearby. Both the doctor and the optician were very friendly and welcoming. The doctor was through during my exam. Any place would be better than here! Recommended by my insurance company so went there during the work week & the gentlemen in store wouldn't even ask me if I needed help. Dishonest business practices. Rude. Doesn't care about their patients. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! Brought 4 family members here. I was provided the PD (a measurement that YOU PAY FOR in order to order glasses) for 3 family members after I purchased glasses in-house. There was either a recent policy change that they did not alert patients to or they inconsistently apply their policies and they will not provide the PD for the 4th prescription. Again, this is a measurement that I PAID FOR when I purchased glasses and they will not give it to me. This office is run by greedy crooks. Once you purchase glasses, you should have the freedom to take your prescription elsewhere. They are in the business of keeping you trapped in their office. Skip told me that any doctor that takes kids in the morning is just trying to make money. Then he proceeded to get an authorization on my insurance and couldn't provide me an evening appointment, reason being that their doctors don't leech money off child patients. He didn't reverse the authorization and my insurance had to be called by the next provider to cancel the prior authorization. I don't know what to think about this experience. Seemed like a phony excuse. The establishment does not agree with my review and have asked me to remove my comments. Meanwhile, all I can say is that I don't understand why my social security number, demographic, insurance information etc was taken over the phone and after 20 minutes of that and authorizations, I was refused an evening appointment because the child doctor doesnt work evenings (total inconvenience for working parents, especially single mothers). They did not reverse the authorization and I have no clue what they plan on doing with my SSN which is pretty scary to me. I demand that they delete and shred my account information immediately. read more

This is an update to last year's eye examine. Laura and I have our eyes checked once per year. This year, Assure Vision created our prescription using the Shamir Autograph Intelligence lens. We have been wearing the new frames and lens for about 2 months. This is a great product for our prescription! These lenses are far and beyond what I have ever experienced in the 20+ years I have been wearing prescription frames. If you are hesitating to order this lens because they are an upgrade to your normal prescription - get them anyway. You will be very impressed with the difference they make! Outstanding attention to detail. Backstory to previous 1 star review posted 6 days ago; I was the client being fitted for frames and had an appointment. Larry took care to make sure I was completely satisfied with the fit and lens performance. He paused for a moment to acknowledge the women that had entered and said he "would be with her in a moment". Unfortunately for her they left. I suggest giving a business a second chance ESPECIALLY if walking in without an appointment. I recently had an eye exam at the Arlington Heights location - very thorough and this experience was good, but .... After the exam, you are in the grip of a very strong sales process. 4 or 5 lens options, protective coatings, and more and more and more. Then, you get to look at a small selection of Frames ... none with prices on them. At all times I felt the expectation was that I would have to make a choice before I could leave .... just buying basic glasses was difficult. I was there to use my Vision insurance and the sales person seemed disappointed that I would only accept what was covered. I guess that billing EyeMed a few hundred dollars wasn't good enough. This whole experience was my mistake , but I feel the sales pressure helped me make that mistake. I won't be back to AssureVision ...with all the online alternatives, there must be a better way ! The retail eyeware business has changed ... if you are looking for a boutique, overpriced, custom "service" maybe this place is for you. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! My wife was going to get new lenses for her glasses and use her old frames...beware, if the frames break, they will not help to get new frames for you (and didn't inform us that they are not responsible even though our insurance company requires this). They were flat out rude, were unwilling to work with our insurance company to resolve the issue and defiantly were unwilling to work with us. We have done a lot of business with this company in the past...we have showed them grace as we have had problems before in the past with being charged extra fees without being told ahead of time. Stay away from this company, they are out to make a buck and are unwilling to help the customer out. We did get a refund for the lenses but he didn't offer to do a withhold on the claim to release the benefits and said he was unable to. If you are dealing with Larry...good luck!!! This was not a small break around the lenses, but the glasses were literally broken in half at the nose piece! read more

They really care about making sure you leave happy. The logistics of my life have been a mess lately. The package arrived damaged, the insurance claim was denied, my car broke down, my dog got sick. My eyeglasses broke. Not to worry! Larry said, "That should not have happened" and replaced the frames free of charge. Fast and accurately made, with great care in checking and fitting. I was also in a few months ago because the rubber temple tip ripped, and Larry had me out the door with new tips in about 10 minutes. I still love this place. read more

The doctor was very professional the same can't be said about the other employees. I had called to ask about an eye exam, i gave all my insurance info to the receptionist. He told me I would only pay $10 for my contact exam, and I had $130 towards contact lenses. So doing simple addition I expected to pay somewhere around $120 for my exam and a one year supply of contacts.. When it was time to pay they sat me down and told me I had to pay another $100 for a "premium contact lens fitting" fee.. I explained to the employee that I had called earlier in week and the person who set up my appointment and explained all my charges never mention said fee. His response was very unprofessional, he said "you should've known that's a separate charge" "we wont tell you about that fee unless you ask". Please explain to me how I'm supposed to ask about a fee which I had no prior knowledge existed? this place showed a lack of professionalism, constumer treatment and communication.
