I went in to pick them up and the problem wasn't solved. The arms/legs of the glasses were still loose and charged me $200 and did not document what they replaced or fixed. I indicated that they didn't solve the problem and was not happy. They said glasses were fine as they replaced the bridge. I asked them if they did a full assessment of the glasses, and they "said" they replaced the bridge. I said I cannot wear them because they are loose and still flimsy. How do you charge someone but don't fix the problem? I will be filing with the better business bureau especially since I'm a senior. Very Dissatisfied Customer.

Think twice before ordering from Pearl Vision. Not good customer service. Only want your money.

I PAY UP FRONT FOR THESE GLASSES. So after the ten weeks I would stop by the store, He informs me, that no shipment regarding any glasses. HAD CAME IN , What kind of business is MEIJER DOING. Routine exam, picked out frames and tech support measured the lenses. During the year my husband continued to visit the optical department because something was not right. The frames continued to be adjusted and his vision got worse. We finally went to an ophthalmologist who told us there were no prisims in his lenses! We took the new prescription back to Meijer Optical and after checking with the district manager there was nothing they could do. No attempt to correct the wrong lenses, no apology for the inconvenience, no refund for giving us the wrong prescription... nothing. This is not what we expected. My husband had no idea the prisim was missing he trusted the professionals. We are sorry we went there and more sorry that we would never be able to trust their optical department for their lack of professionalism. Word to the wise...if your glasses don't feel right make them check everything until you are completely satisfied....your vision is very important.

I will talk about my experience first and then my MILs. I have Davis Vision for my vision insurance and I have found it really hard to find anyone in the area who takes this insurance. I originally called for my MIL because she has traditional Medicaid and it is hard to find a place that takes this as well. While I was on the phone I thought "Well I might as well ask and see if they take Davis Vision too" I was in shock that they did. One of the things I liked about this place before I even had my appointment was that they send you your paperwork to be filled out before your appointment. I hate that a lot of places have you show up a half hour before your appointment just to do paperwork. I forgot to read the website before I booked the appointment because it gives a lot of clues to what to expect but I did after and the days leading up to the appointment I was worried because when you see "Comprehensive eye exam" on a website it usually means that the team will push test that are not covered by your insurance but this was not the case at McNelis. I arrived they checked me in and took my insurance card, I waited about 10 mins and Sabrina took me back to do some test. Sabrina was very nice we even bonded over our love of fall weather. I waited about another 5 mins then Dr. McNelis came in to do my exam. She was very thorough, I have been to eye doctors who are way to fast and don't explain to you anything that is happening. Dr. McNelis moved at a pace that I felt comfortable and took time to explain to me why my eyes were changing and what we can do to help with some issues I have been experiencing. It was now time to pick out glasses and I was helped by Lauren and again I thought "well here is where the extra cost will be push at me" this didn't happen. Lauren told me what my limit is on frames and gave me time to look I picked out a pair and she ran my quote, it was way cheaper that I was expecting and Lauren took the time to break down the cost she even pointed out that one of the cost was optional and didn't try to be a pushy sales person. I ended up opting out of the extra cost and there was no push back. It was an over all pleasurable experience. For my mother-in-law the reason for her appointment was a little more serious, let me give some background, She is from the Philippines, is 87 years old and is here on visa while she waits for her green card. The health system in most parts of the Philippines is many many years behind the U.S. While in her country she was diagnosed with Cataracts but put off the operation because it is a very expensive there and people often go blind from the surgery in the Philippines so at this point she has almost gone blind in both eyes. So once she was approved for Medicaid we decided to make her all the necessary appointments to make sure she was healthy and to get her treated for things that have been bothering her including her eyes. We set her an appointment at McNelis because the only other place I could find that would take her insurance was Walmart and they told me upfront that they would not cover her frames or lenses and that they do not do refer for cataract surgery. By the time her appointment rolled around I already knew I liked McNelis because of my appointment but I still wasn't sure how it would go for an 87 year old almost blind woman who barely speaks English. They were super patient with her even though the test took longer because it was harder to get her to understand what she needed to do. Dr. McNelis was again very thorough and took the time to explain to us just how bad the cataracts were and referred us to a doctor who could do the surgery and it would be covered by her Medicaid. McNelis Family Eye Care has my business for life!
