Don't go here. They don't care or support you even when it's their mistake. They prescribed me wrong contact script. I didn't realize it until after I had ordered 6 months worth. $800. No refunds. I'm all out of lenses now and called today... Where had I've been all these years and did not know this eye clinic. Been here and there and have my annual eyeglasses made, but never did I experience not only a good ambience but also the warmth of the staffs. Caleb, handled my lenses selection and add-ons at the same time explain thoroughly the technical issues. He spent more time to make sure I made the right choices. Three different eye clinic made my eyeglasses for 13 years but they're not as accommodating as this one. So grateful I've found MyEyeDr in Elmhurst Rd in DesPlaines. The Park Ridge location just manipulated me into having a contact lens exam appointment that it is completely covered by my insurance, but they refused to give me a prescription for contact lenses after the exam unless I paid them $140. I booked an appointment for my daughter to get her first pair of contact lenses. I picked this office for location & the testimonials. I wanted my daughter to have a great experience because it is her first time with contacts. When I called to make an appointment, mid-conversation I was placed with another appointment setter which they did not explain why I was just handed over to someone else. From the conversation the appointment sounded confirmed and in the books. Twenty-four hours before the appointment I get a call from the office stating that they had "by accident, on their end" double booked my daughter and wanted me to reschedule at another time. I asked for this specific date and time for a reason. With an office like this, they really should invest in some time to train their employees to prevent situations like this. I truly hope they read my review. I haven't even stepped foot in the place, but this truly a game changer. read more

My daughter goes to this facility (called "My eye doctor" in Des Plaines) for her vision therapy. The people working there are amazing, very educated, professional, patient and very kind. We had/still have Ms. Sarah, Mrs. Elaina and Mrs. Kim in the therapy and they are so great with my daughter.. very educated, explain every game/activity and how it helps the eyes. Also at the end of each therapy they thoroughly sum up everything they did with my daughter. So greatly appreciate their help and I recommend this place to everyone in need. read more

I've been to 5 or 6 optometrists in my day and Dr. Shelly is my favorite hands down! Not only is she sweet and professional but she corrected an issue with other eye doctors overprescribing me. I was at a negative 6.75 when I initially came to her and we've been able to comfortably take me down a whole point (sans headaches/squinting/blurred vision/etc). I've ordered contacts through Dr. Kim's office which was quick & easy. They arrived within a week. I've never ordered glasses from here so I cannot speak to that although they seem to have a wide selection. Her staff is knowledgable and polite which makes the whole experience enjoyable. I've also never had to wait more than 10 minutes (unlike other offices where an appointment is more of a 1 hour window to the likes of a Comcast installation). read more

I just had my first appointment here today and was really impressed. Dr. Kim is so personable and kind. I mentioned that my son was recently diagnosed with high-functioning autism and she even tried to point me to some resources on managing his autism. Bonus: comfy couch in the waiting room! I was only charged $55 for a contact lens fitting, which might be the least I've ever been charged for that. I only see an optometrist once a year (if I can help it), but if I am still in the area next year, I will definitely come here again. read more

I recently moved to the north suburbs and needed a new eye doctor. I chose this office based on the incredible reviews, so after almost 10 months of appointments I plan on sharing my experience. To preface, I have a very strong prescription and astigmatism so I am aware that vision-wise I am not an easy patient. However, I've been wearing glasses and contacts for over 20 years and have never had an experience like the one I did here, and have been able to get contacts following one appointment and fitting. Over the course of the past 10 months I have been attempting to get a contact lens prescription and have had 6 appointments for fittings in which I did not find that the contacts fit my eye well, or I wasn't able to see as clearly to the point where I was seeing double and/or had difficulty focusing and reading. To summarize: After 6 appointments I wasn't able to obtain a prescription that I felt comfortable ordering contacts for, I was charged $65 to try on contacts and was told I would be refunded, at following appointments I was told that every time I tried on contacts there would be a charge unless I kept exchanging the trial pair, the doctor's bedside manner was not very warm and throughout and at the end of the every appointment I didn't feel as though there was any sort of closing to the appointment, at my final appointment I was told that the doctor couldn't "force me to wear glasses" and she had reached the limitations on my prescription. Following my last appointment I received a voicemail at the beginning of the week saying I needed to call the office by the end of that week so they knew if I was going to order. I then received a call every day (and sometimes multiple times a day) with voicemails for the rest of that week. I was told I would be charged for not returning the trial vial for eye that I did not receive a trial for, and frankly I felt harassed. I finally spoke with the office at the end of the week and was asked what contacts I was wearing if not their trials. I told them I was wearing contacts from before I came to their practice, and I was offered my refund if I returned the trial. However, at that point I decided I would not be coming back and am just moving forward in finding another doctor. Ultimately, I just felt like the treatment I received at times wasn't always friendly, bordered on harassment, and at the end of the day I didn't even get contacts out of the experience 10 months later. Unless you have good vision I wouldn't recommend you going to this office. read more

Sometimes, you just don't know what great is until you come across it. 5 optometrists in my life, only this one was able to help me understand why my vision was poor and what I could actually do about it. Shelley was amazing. She does a thorough analysis on your vision, something I've never really encountered before. Usually, optometrists tell me that I have vision problems that can lead to other problems, but she found out that because of something that didn't develop properly between the ages of 4-7, I had a left eye that couldn't keep up with the right eye. She asked me if I often lost my place in a book or if I struggled with remembering things I read, then she asked if the same was true about things I had heard. She pulled out a couple of instruments, then told me that there were things I could correct, and things that I needed to get a stronger dosage for. Apparently, the doses (I just got a new pair of glasses 6 months ago, but broke them by sitting on them) on my former glasses were only minor improvements to my eyesight. Same "optometrist title," but I guess the difference is like comparing Harvard to Cal State Los Angeles - no comparison. They also have a staffer who knows how to do vision therapy, which is huge. Once I get vision insurance, i will be going back to get therapy. Everyone on staff was extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. I would tell everyone who has been to an optometrist to check Best Vision out because they go above and beyond what you would expect. read more

It's a pretty nice place that you wouldnt expect from the outside. Lots of cool frames go choose from. Staffs are okay you have to approach them to entertain you but they were very nice and helpful afterwards. Dr Kim is very nice and make sure you get assisted. We've moved quite a bit over the past few years, and with that, I've seen quite a few optometrists. My experience with Dr. Kim was exceptional. The waiting room was cozy - comfy couch in front of a fireplace / tv. The staff were kind and eager to help. Normally between doing the routine eye check and waiting for the doctor, I read a book. Before I'd even picked up my book knowing I'd likely wait, Dr. Kim came walking in and began the check up. She is caring and very knowledgeable. Dr. Kim and Gloria (therapist) did a phenomenal job helping my son with his vision! It was interesting to learn that my sons vision was very good, however since his eyes weren't "working" together it was impacting his ability to focus.
