Aspen Tree Service May 9, I was at a loss as you know. My son and I were conned/ripped off for $2110.00 from Steve's Family Tree Service. (Please see review left on Yelp for more details) Aspen Tree Service was recommended. I reluctantly called them. I was a mess. I spoke with Harmony for about 45 minutes on the phone and explained what happened and they were at my house that afternoon at 4 o'clock. Dave walked around and looked at everything with me as we talked. He was knowledgeable about trees, he understood I was already out a couple thousand dollars and he was honest about the time line between what his company could do and knew that the HOA was not going to let this mess sit for too long. He gave me a more than fair estimate for this clean up and said Harmony would call to verify the schedule. Dave told me two things that evening. One: I give him no money until the job is done. None. Two: his grinder is down, parts are ordered so that part of the job will be done in a few days to a week after the trees have been taken down and chipped. He asked me if that was okay? I agreed with that and the price he quoted. When he left, I called Harmony (his wife) and we scheduled the job for Thursday, May 12th with a start time of between 8:30-9:30. I received his quote electronically and approved it. It matched what he had told me. Then we waited. May 12, they showed up at about 9:00 and Oh My God!!!! I saw Dave, then a couple other guys, then a big truck with a bucket, a chipper and more guys putting on helmets with face shield and ear protection. They were pulling out chain saws, shovels, rakes and everything they were going to need to get the job done. They were a fine oiled machine. Everyone knew what they were doing and they worked in unison. It was mesmerizing. They were efficient and safety first the entire time. They were done with the front yard in about an hour and twenty minutes. I mean done. Trees down, cut up, smaller pieces through the chipper, larger pieces loaded and the yard was raked clean. My son and I watched in amazement. Then they went into the back and chipped up three very big piles of bush branches and Aspen trees my son and I cut down from the front yard. That took about an hour. Again, they worked as a team. Everyone knew every step, they worked together seamlessly. At the end, I asked Dave about paying him for what they had gotten done and he told me, No money until the job is done. He said he would be back when the grinder is fixed. I will get a phone call to schedule a good time and date. I really can't thank them enough. Aspen Tree Service is a family owned and operated company out of Sun Valley. They are a Well Oiled Machine. They are safety first, hands on, very caring about their jobs and what the customer needs. They communicate with you every step of the way. They show up on time and get the job done. I really hope the pictures come through because this is worth seeing. I know we have a long road to getting this property in order but Aspen Tree Service just gave us a great jump start in the right direction. read more

My landscaper suggested I have my 60 yr old and very tall pine trees "cleaned up" prior to having zero scape done. I was born and raised in Truckee, yet had never heard of cleaning up my trees. I was warned that this could be very costly but agreed to get a price. I received a quote the day after calling and my landscaper said it was a good price and I couldn't agree more! Aspen Tree Service did a HUGE job for us. They cut down 8 trees and trimmed up 4 trees. We were pleasantly surprised at how quickly everything went! They arrived early in the morning and were done by the late afternoon. I would highly recommend them as they had wonderful customer service, prices, and booking an appointment was only a few weeks out for us. The only downside was that they did leave a decent amount of leaves behind that we have to clean up but they were gracious enough to ask how everything went the day after and compensated us for the extra work we had to do to clean up. We received multiple quotes from different companies in the area however Aspen Tree Service was the right choice for us and we are so happy with their services. read more

A great experience with these guys. I called them to come quote on a job. He was professional, polite, and gave an estimate that was inline with other companies, yet I chose Aspen because of the review ratings. It took a couple of weeks to get them here because of the busy season, but they arrives right on time when they promised and honored the quote they gave us in advance. We had a 15' to 20' pine tree that the home builders / landscapers stupidly planted right over top of all the utilities (gas, water, electric) that come from the street to our house. We needed to remove it before it was to become a problem. We also had 2 Mogul pines and a couple of flowering bushes to remove. All of these items were very close to landscape lights and drip lines. Six guys showed up this morning to perform the job in high heat, yet nothing was damaged and they cleaned up well. I expected their stump grinder to damage some drip lines that were too close to the plants, yet he was very careful to not damage them. Overall, great job and we will definitely be calling them in the future. It's a good family business. read more

Aspen Tree pruned some mature trees that were in sad shape and I am pleased with their work on the trees. My issue is that they drove their large bucket truck, with my permission, across our lawn. I gave permission with the assurances that they would repair any damage their truck did. What I was not told is that I would have to fix it my self. The broken sprinkler line was repaired by them. Although the sprinkler head was too high for the lawn mower so I dug it up it myself and lowered it myself. I was also advised the wheel ruts can be easily fixed. I was even told the proper, $26.00, garden pitchfork to do it with. So after too many calls I bought the tool yesterday and will go to work on the numerious deep wheel rutting myself. read more

Great service. Great price. The owner came out and took a look at a tree that I suspected was dead. He confirmed it and then looked at the rest of my trees and told me about the health of the trees and some maintenance tips, etc. He gave me a price for tree removal and stump grinding of the dead one as well as an estimate to "thin out" another tree that needed it before winter. I had them over to bid job. I told them I just wanted the trees just cut to the ground. I felt they didn't listen to me cause I'm a woman. I didn't want the stumps ground down. I want to build fence, they said the stumps would hider the fence. My fence guy told me it wasn't necessary. So I got an extremely high bid, much more than any other tree company. read more

I highly recommend Aspen Tree Service. We have 3 Elms that we were concerned about as we have never owned a home with such mature trees (30+ ft, one of the reasons we bought this house). We had 4 quotes and most recommended complete removal for one reason or another. Dave wasn't so quick to recommend removal, which I was relieved to hear. He was honest and gave us options and ideas to try keep our trees healthy. He gave better quotes for both removal and trimming than the other three. We ended up just trimming them all up and will try some of the ideas Dave recommended. If they don't make it, I figure it was worth it to try and we'll definitely use Aspen again in the future. I had a great experience with Aspen tree service, after I called the office I received a follow up call from Courtney. After explaining the situation and sending a couple pictures to her we both had a few good laughs due to the absurd pickle I was in. I had a tree fall on the corner of my property that was being held up by a support line on a telephone pole. After attempting to rip it down with a truck and rope the top half of the tree was dangling above the road ready to impale the next innocent child that walked under it. Courtney and her team were out within a day and rectified it immediately. All over the phone while I was at work! I contacted Aspen Tree Service after being informed that Titan Tree Service had become Aspen Tree Service. I had been very happy with services that Titan Tree service had provided. However, I have never been treated so poorly as I have by Aspen. A confirmed appointment was made between Aspen & myself. After rearranging my schedule, I waited for 3 hours for Aspen crew to show up. They never came & never called. I was unable to reach them via phone. Several days later, I called & was told I would be contacted later in the day to set up another appointment. NOTHING!! This company could care less about their customer! We had two trees on a busy street that were old and there were a couple of limbs that could have been a hazard to sidewalk pedestrians or cars driving by. Absolutely horrible Sam Fowler the worker for this company came out to do a job for my 80 year old veteran father gave him a bid they agreed upon it should have taken one day it took him three weeks he cut the limbs left them in the yard refuse to come had to make repeated calls he finally came out finish cutting the rest of the trees and never came back to chip them ended up having to call another tree company out and pay $600 to get the rest of the work done which was chipping all and getting rid of debris not to mention he dropped a limb on the pump house and put a hole in the roof and has not returned to repair it won't answer calls anymore when I called to discuss with him he not only hung up on me but text me calling me very bad words disgusting company how they could take advantage of an 80 year old veteran in my blind mother very very disappointed this company should be ashamed of themselves Sam Fowler you are a bad person read more

Buying firewood from these guys is a trip. Up front, the price is great. We bought a cord in 2016, we stacked it to resalize they delivered only about 2/3 of a cord, they made it right and delivered the rest. This year we ordered a cord, once it was stacked, they had only delivered a 1/2 cord. We called them and they brought some more but still not the full cord. They brought more...its still not a full cord and they have stopped responding. If you buy wood from these guys, you have to stack and measure, they do not seem to know what xonstitutes a cord. read more

The snow storm in November split my huge Elm tree and I was so scared half the tree was going to come crashing down on my neighbors. I called around to 5 different places and was ignored by two completely and 3 called me back all letting me know they were weeks out because all the downed trees from the snow. Aspen still showed up at my house the next day to give us an estimate it was a very fair estimate. The man who came out was so honest and polite he let us know that they were a couple weeks out and we should call around and see if someone could get here sooner than that. I still told him we wanted to book with them ( this was on a Saturday afternoon) Monday Harmony called and let us know if we were available they were sending someone out to start the work for us but that it was just to get the dangerous parts cut off the tree before the next snow. They came out that same day and took off about 1/10 of my tree to ensure it would not fall on my neighbors. They called and set up my appointment for about two weeks later and showed up on time and got the whole tree down in less than 5 hours! They told me they would be back in a couple days to grind the trunk (we asked that they do this) we ordered to pay them the portion for the tree cutting and that we would pay for the stump when they came back and they said no need to and let us pay all at one time. They were back in two days to grind the stump. I would recommend these guys to anyone. They are honest and fair and the women who sets up the appointments is very kind and friendly. read more
