What a great team and business! We used the Yelp project tool to get some quotes for a tree that needed to be looked at and possibly removed. Ohana Tree Bros responded quickly and had someone out the next day. They took pictures, talked to us about what we could do to save the tree for a few more years, and then had a quote to us a few hours later. We booked them for the following week. The guys showed up on time, skillfully and artfully removed branches and limbs, and left the property completely spotless. Not even a remaining stick was left on the ground! The only response from Ohana was a very dismissive reply that they didn't feel that a contractor's license is necessary for what they do. NRS 624.020 and 624.700 disagree with Ohana's position. I created a project and sent requests to several tree service companies on 12/17/2024, Bonnie was the first responded. She told me that she could use our defensible space report for her purpose of the estimate. She quickly put together a contract with a term of guaranteeing all the requirements would be met. And she was able to schedule the work on 12/30/2024. On 12/28/24 and 12/29/24, I texted her photos showing the snow conditions, she replied "Should be fine to come tomorrow". Her crew came to work on 12/30/24 but couldn't finish and told me that they would come back the next day. On 12/31/24, at noon, since I didn't get any update and nobody showed up, I texted Bonnie, she replied "they will be back tomorrow. I have called the fire inspector and they are aware of the situation. It will be signed off once completed." On 1/6/2025, the fire inspector hadn't signed off. Bonnie and her husband called me to pay. They didn't accept credit card, and they didn't have a business Zelle account. Her personal account had a limit of $5000 which I sent to her. And then I tried many times to send them the remaining balance but couldn't go through. I called my bank and was told the recipient's account had problems. I had to send them a check via my bank to pay the full contractual amount. The fire inspector inspected and didn't sign off because some requirements were not met. From February to June 2025, we tried to get Ohana Tree & Lawn Care to finish the work according to our contract, but they were no longer responsive. Finally they sent one guy over last week (scheduled 10am, didn't show up till 12:30pm), we had to get Bonnie on the phone in order for the guy to get some quick, minimum work done. Today there are still lots of dead branches, pine cones and needles everywhere, which should have been removed according the contract requirements. They also left in the backyard some logs from the trees they cut down last year. read more

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this company!! After having used a few other "arborists", who did not do right by our apple tree, I checked Yelp! and found positive reviews for Ohana Tree Bros. We got an estimate from them, and they were, by far, the most reasonably priced. We talked with Chaz, who understood my concern for the well-being and longevity of my "Mom's tree"...a gift to me from my sons. Chaz, Swayze and the red-haired arborist (I am so sorry, I forgot his name) didn't scoff at me or try to milk my bank account because of my sentimentality. These folks did an AMAZING job of carefully trimming down our apple tree, bringing it "up", cleaning up the suckers, AND, also trimming up some of our silver maple tree, including taking off a broken branch. These folks also cleaned up my entire yard: branches, sticks, twigs, and fallen apples. A FABULOUS crew, sooooo professional and trustworthy! I had several bids from other tree services in the Reno / Carson area, but Ohana Tree Bros. gave me the most reasonable quote. It only got better from there. The crew showed up (Luis, Alex and Donald) on time as scheduled, and did an absolutely amazing job removing a giant old dead cottonwood which was in a precarious position between our house and garage. A wrong move could have caused a disaster but there were no wrong moves with this crew. Luis was especially good. He was hard working, polite and very competent. They also did a clean-up job on an old Elm we had that was in sorry shape. Clean up afterward was very thorough. Ohana's folks showed up on time at 8 a.m. We have two large pine trees in our backyard, both over 100 feet, and they were infected with fungus. They are located right behind a wood fence railing. The cutting took over five hours. They are true professionals. I was concerned when the tree trunks were cut and dropped to the ground, they could damage the fence or the trees around it. All the plants, including a manzanita tree no more than 10 feet from the tree trunk, were undamaged, really impressive! Ohana's folks had to wheel barrel the removed trunks and debris for over 200 feet of rough terrain to their trunks and equipment. After they were done, there was very little physical evidence of the tree-cutting. Cameron is one of the owners. He stayed with the crew throughout the work. CUSTOMER BEWARE: The absolute WORST service we have ever received. After sending a crew of two at a premium hourly rate, the owners never showed up to manage their employees who spent most of the time on their phones, talking or "fixing" equipment. We had to text them directly to get back to work at which time we were assured that they would be discounting the hourly price. The real issue began when we received the bill. We were sent an invoice that included an unusually high credit card service fee of $30. We paid this within 24 hours. We then received a second bill several days later while on vacation that was marked as "overdue" (even though we had not previously received it) with another credit card service fee of $40 and inaccurate charges based on our conversation. Upon reviewing it with the owner Bonnie, she agreed to remove $300 from the bill but never sent an updated invoice to pay. The other owner Chaz called us today to berate and demand payment immediately, using foul language and threats of collections at which time we explained we still had not received the updated bill, nor had we ever been given a contract or estimate to being with. When we told hime we'd be sharing our experience, he told us he "didn't care about reviews and that they didn't matter". We have never received this type of treatment or harassment from a company and hope our experience can send other customers elsewhere. read more

Yes, they are hired Ohana train line to remove a tree and roots as well as prune a different tree. They were very prompt and getting back to me with an estimate which I accepted. The morning they were to do the job the supervisor arrived exactly on time. I walk through the project with her, pointing out the tree that I wanted removed, along with the roots, and also the tree that needed pruning. The first truck arrived approximately 25 minutes late with two gentlemen. The supervisor said the second truck was not far behind, as well as the chipper. The 1st man climbed the tree that was to be removed very efficiently, and the second gentleman was dragging the tree limbs out to a trailer. The supervisor said she needed to leave, but she would be back. The second truck arrived at approximately 40 to 45 minutes late. That person stayed in the trailer and recut limbs and stacked them in the trailer. Again, I asked when the chipper would arrive and was told it's on its way. The chipper never showed so they stacked everything in the trailer. At approximately 3.45hr they said they were done so I went out to inspect the job. The tree that was to be pruned still heads suckers shoots, running up from the bottom of the tree. I alerted the gentleman of that he went out to get some clippers. I walked over to where they removed the big pine tree, and I immediately tripped on a root. I also noticed that now there was a mound of the shaving. I brought both to their attention. The leader stated that they didn't have time to do anything else that they were two hours behind schedule and I would have to reschedule and pay for another day. I told him that the roots needed to be removed that they were dangerous and he stated it was not in his work order And that again they did not have time. I said I'm not asking him for the little roots however I want them to remove the large roots that were protruding from the lawn. Again, he declined stating he did not have time that he was two hours behind. And then they left. They under estimated the time need to complete the job. After they left I found their drink bottles thrown behind my bushes as well as more shaving Sad, I have high hopes for this company. I really don't like to give negative reviews. I was just very disappointed at the end. read more
