And they didn't need to take out my fence to bring in equipment like the other two wanted. Good old-fashioned tree climbing. While he was here, I asked him for a quote on four other trees. again a reasonable estimate and they got it done the same day. When they were done, they raked and used a blower to clean up all the debris. I'm very pleased and recommend them highly. To start off the appt, they called to say they were going to be about 2 hours late. When they arrived they had no equipment except chainsaws for trees that were 40' tall or more. When I saw one of them climbing on my barn and cutting while leaning over, (not tied off) some trees that were nearby, I had to tell them to stop. Then the insults started as they were angry that I had the nerve to tell them to stop. I would never recommend these thugs. read more

I highly recommend Northern Nevada Tree Experts. We had two large trees, an Ash and a Willow, that had blown down in our back yard creating a total mess. I called in and spoke directly with Marx. He was attentive, communicated well and gave me a fair quote. I let him know the urgency of the project and he scheduled me quickly. He and his crew came out in a timely manner and did a quality job of breaking down both trees, grinding the stumps, removing the roots and hauling everything off. First the disappointment: One the reasons I chose Northern Nevada Tree Experts is that Marx, the owner, is a certified arborist and he told me he would be at the job site. This didn't happen. He didn't even show up at any point. So why am I giving this company 5 stars? The foreman, Deshawn Vargas, did an outstanding job. He even went out of his way, clearing the debris on my patio and taking it with him along with what had been cut down by him and his crew. They send a guy with a pole trimmer to trim a large tree. All they do is THIN the tree with the pole trimmer. The tree never was trimmed and same for my smaller tree. The cherry picker truck never came.... If he even owns one !! Very disappointed with them and their work. The crew arrived early on the scheduled day and completed the job in a little more than one hour. Cleanup was complete and through. On the day of the appointment, he was early and walked the property again. His crew was on time and immediately got to work. They had the job completed, cleaned and on there way in less than 1.5 hours. I had three trees that really needed attention, 5 that just needed a little clean up. During one of the 3 trees they found a nest with baby birds, they took the time and care to not disturb the nest, truly respectful and professional. Momma bird came back shortly after they left. Took quite a while to get the service done (removing a number of trees), but everybody is short staff these days, so I guess its to be expected. The work was quite good, although one of my drips lines got pulled out instead of capped, so its digging a big whole in the ground where one one of trees was and is wasting a lot of water. I've called the company and the owners cell phone many times to get this fixed, and left at least half a dozen messages. As of 6 days later now, I have yet to receive a call back. We hired this company to remove a tree from our front yard. They cut the tree down and told us their stump grinder was broken and they would call us back when it was fixed (in a few weeks). We had to call them back a month later to remind them. They came back out to "remove the stump" and tried to charge us more money to finish the job they didn't do in the first place! When they finished, It was left covered in wood chips and when we hired a landscaper to clear the wood chips and put grass back over the area, they said the stump was protruding. We tried calling them back and spoke with their secretary who told us we would receive a call back and we never did. I left several more voicemails and never received a call back. We eventually had to hire another company to take over and fix their poor work. We used Northern Nevada Tree Experts for some tree trimming shortly after we moved into our house in Sparks, so when our 40 foot Rayburn Ash fell into our house during the recent storms, we knew we wanted to call Marx and his crew to help us. Marx responded quickly to our need and was able to remove the tree, including grinding out the stump, safely, quickly, and efficiently, to our great satisfaction. Marx made sure that his invoice was written in the manner that our insurance company needed, and as a result we were quickly reimbursed for the work that was done. It was fascinating to watch the work being done, because when a fallen tree is exerting pressure against a structure, each cut might trigger a spring effect that can cause further damage. It was like a chess game, where they had to think several moves in advance, and Marx and his crew played it perfectly. read more

Marx and his crew did a wonderful job removing two large pine trees from our property and trimming out dead branches on several other trees. He worked for the Forest Service and knows trees how how to trim them. He doesn't use spikes to climb the trees, thus he doesn't harm the trees when working on them. He's been one of the "go to" guys in our neighborhood and has done work for at least 4 other neighbors. (All of us had a lot of damage from the big storms in 2017.) He also very knowledgable about mistletoe and has removed lots of it from the trees up here off of Mt. Rose Highway. All of my neighbors who used Marx and his team have pleased with his work. We contacted this company right after we purchased our home in the Galena Forest last year to assess our many pine trees, and to discuss removing the ones that were overhanging our roof. We decided that 10 needed to be cut down. Marx, explained that many would need a crane due to our terrain and closeness to our home. We agreed, and the crew showed up 4 days ago. When Marx talked about using a large crane, he wasn't kidding! It was huge, and ready and able to tackle this job, as our trees were 90-110 ft . It was impressive to watch Marx harness up, and lock himself in under the ball of the crane and be lifted to the top of each of these ginormous trees. His ground crew worked seamlessly with him, as did the crane operator. It was like watching a perfectly tuned orchestra. These guys know their job and worked beautifully together. When the pieces of the tree were brought down by the crane, they worked in unison to de-limb and chip the branches in the waiting chipper trucks. Then, they cut up the trunks and rolled them away. All 10 trees were down in a matter of within 6 hours. We were blown away! Over 3 days they cut up all pieces of the trunks into rounds for us to split for our firewood. They chipped up and hauled away all the branches, ground the stumps, raked and cleaned up everything. Marx finished by removing dead branches from multiple trees on our 1 acre property, helping our fire risk here. I want to highly recommend Marx and his whole team for their obvious knowledge, professionalism, teamwork, safety and cleanliness!!!! It is damned hard to find this today, in any service company!
