This company was hired by our property management co. to remove a tree in our front yard and it was a HORRIBLE experience. This was a very large evergreen, so not an easy job, but the two guys they sent to piece down the tree showed up without any proper gear or safety equipment. My boyfriend works for a crane company and has removed many trees so he knows how it should be done. They removed about a third of the branches and decided that was good enough and it was time to cut it down. Well, the tree did not fall where they wanted it to so it fell and completely destroyed our gate. Luckily that was the only thing that was damaged and no one got hurt. They then proceeded to cut off the remaining branches in the middle of the road in front of our house and just left all of the braches where they fell in the street. I called my prop mgr to tell them about the broken gate and he said he would call the tree company and would make sure they would replace it. All that incompetence made them hungry so it was time to sit down for lunch in our neighbors yard. They proceeded to talk loudly about being on parole for drugs (Loud enough for us to hear from inside our house from across the street). When they were done, they left their trash in our neighbors yard and decided to sharpen their chainsaws, letting sparks fly, while still in our neighbors yard. Mind you, this was not in preparation to finish the job because after a few minutes of silence, we looked outside again and found they had left and the tree and all of the limbs were still blocking 75% of the street in front of our house. When they hadn't returned in an hour, I called my landlord because I was beside myself with anger. I explained that I was not comfortable with them coming back without additional supervision. He called the owner and had him come over to supervise the rest of the job. The owner did listen while my boyfriend explained everything that transpired but as soon as he turned his back, the owner proceeded to mock him to his workers. Real mature, buddy. The rest of the job went off without incident and when different guys come over to grind the stump the next day, one of them made a point to apologize profusely and tell me how embarrassed he was for what happened the day before...which is good but doesn't matter when the owner couldn't have cared less. I cannot express how awful the whole experience was and how much I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. The one thing I can take solice in was the fact that they did have to pay to make a custom gate to replace the one they broke, only to have the owner/prop. Mgr remove the gate when we moved out a few months later. I hope they ended up losing money on that job and that they go out of business before they seriously damage someone's property or (god forbid) hurt someone. read more
