The cost was a bit high for our budget (due to the complexity of the project), so we worked a few changes to lower the cost into our range. After we signed the proposal, he started immediately. He said it would take 10 days and he met that timeline. Throughout the project he had a few questions and alternatives, and he didn't move forward without first getting our input. He went above an beyond with quality, you can tell he loves the work he does and takes pride in his work; he did not cut any corners. The home is two stories with a 530 square foot workshop and 530 square foot apartment with a loft and large exterior deck. The home was finished in spring of 2019 and is currently my primary home and I rent out my other house on the property. Alex (the owner of WOB) and his team were awesome to work with throughout the project. Alex was good about communication and letting me know the various stages of the build. He is passionate about construction (and his mini excavator) and was out at the project much of the time directing and performing the work himself. This was my first large construction project and Alex made it easy to do business. The quality of the work was outstanding, and his pricing was very agreeable. WOB was flexible to changes in design as the project moved along and did not come back with price adjustments outside of large upgrades (which I requested) which were not in the initial design/build quote. I was expecting to engage WOB in conjunction with R&B Design Studio LLC (to provide the building design/permitting) to assemble a house based on architectural drawings. Both teams worked closely together to execute a full top to bottom project management services package that included architectural drawings, scheduling, material and design selections, construction, permitting, etc. R&B Design Studio LLC is a company that works in conjunction with WOB on many projects and did an outstanding job to design a space that feels much larger than it really is and is highly functional. WOB also has a show room to help select materials and builds custom cabinets making it simple to select materials without having to search for these items and do price/quality comparisons. This made it very helpful being a working professional. Also, both teams helped select interior flooring, cabinets, tiles, countertops, etc. which is a large benefit as I find this difficult without guidance. They made it super easy to do business with them and even found a way to shave about $8,000 off the project through working with the city on specific criteria. I would highly recommend both Western Oregon Builders and R&B Design Studio LLC for any construction project. The end product is so much more than I anticipated, I could not be more appreciative of their service.

He worked very hard to get us back into our house on schedule. He was honest about what he could do and what he couldn't do. He gave me updates regularly - usually daily. He went above and beyond to help me with some plumbing issues that came up when we removed a toilet and appliances. He helped me re- install appliances. Probably most importantly he did an excellent job installing the floors per my fairly detailed request (nail down with underlayment). He had to pull many of the baseboards and he reattached them and touched up everything. The final result is an very nice house. We are so happy with how it looks. Thank you! They took a kitchen to the studs and built a masterpiece for my wife and me. How much do we love them? We rehired them to renovate our master bathroom completely. The fact that we rehired them should tell you all that you need to know about how amazing they are. So, again, the best review is that we are using them again, and you should use them too because they are the best. What made them the best: 1) They helped us save a lot of money. They have a unique approach to ordering materials for the project. They let us know what they needed, and we ordered it directly. We ordered the new cabinets, the new doors, the new appliances, etc. By doing this, there was no additional markup on the items ordered, and it saved us a lot of money. Other contractors we met with didn't want to do this, and their quotes were at least 20 percent more than PDX Homeworks. 2) Their work. Unlike other contractors that we have had in the past. When they saw something that wasn't quite right but that we would never know about, they didn't just cover it up and move on; THEY MADE IT RIGHT. Not to mention that their work is very precise. I once watched Nick get so frustrated when he was leveling the kitchen as he tried to level everything because it was off, to me, an imperceptible amount. At least the amount was imperceptible to me, but to Nick, it wasn't perfectly level, and he continued until it met his exacting needs. 3) Helping with design. We were amazed at how painless the whole design process of our kitchen was. We gave Amanda some inspirational pictures, and she came back with a fantastic design that only required a few minor tweaks. THANK YOU, AMANDA. 4) They only work on one project at a time. It is just Nick, Amanda, and Kailash. They don't have multiple crews doing multiple jobs that they are overseeing. They were at our house every day, working and working. It was so lovely that we had consistency in seeing them every day. 5) They're very clean. Every day, they would use drop cloths on the ground to make sure they didn't get the carpets dirty. I even told them that they didn't need to do that because I was getting the carpets cleaned after they were done. They didn't listen to me and continued to use drop cloths every day. They also vacuumed and cleaned up every day. It was a very clean renovation. 6) They are just the nicest people. It was great getting to know them during the whole process of our renovation. They don't do this type of work to become huge builders with millions of dollars of work completed every year. They are just the nicest people who love remodeling, helping people out, and helping them save money where they can. He yelled and said I was trying to trick him because he claimed the order was placed 4 weeks ago. Looks like I'll be going to court for a refund.
