This is my 2nd time working with Luong's! I have a 1/2 acre lot, so needed ideas to take up space, not require lots of maintenance but look great! First year Tom and company did my backyard, including designing and installing a waterfall that all of my neighbors would kill for! This year, we did a small update on the front yard, adding trees, bushes, and a lovely rockway path! Just love it! Tom has wonderful design ideas, and his teams are great to work with, including always leaving a clear worksite, and keeping me informed on next steps! You will love working with them! read more

Would never use them again! Had a small ($12k) project done, brickwork and artificial grass in half of backyard for new pup. Also was having a vinyl chain link fence to divide yard installed by them. Started on time, workers did the brickwork and turf well. Great employees. Then Tom showed up saying "my fence guy wants to do a wood/wire fence instead...he says it will still match your existing fence." I asked about price adjustment, he said it was more expensive but he wouldn't charge anything. This was a horrible decision. Fence looks like a middle school project. It took me a month to finally get Tom (owner) to come out. Stain was not complete, rough cuts were left as-is, latch didn't latch. When he finally came out, he had a ton of excuses. He "fixed" the latch by inserting a piece of wire to jimmy the latch. Told my wife that "the stain just looks different in the sun and it's completely stained (it's not). Told her the rough cuts and ripped/frayed edges were normal (I was out of town). I asked him to come back when I was home, it took almost two weeks to get him back. He told me the same, when I confronted him about the wire piece "fix" he said "not me". Said rough cuts/frays "can be filed but will change the look of the fence". I told him I wanted the fence re-stained and to have his office contact me with a date so I could be home. That was 2 months ago. I'm simply chalking it up to "shame on me for this choice" and doing the fix myself. read more

Tom's crew redid our backyard irrigation; tore out old lawn, scraped, leveled and added new topsoil and put down fresh sod. They redid our wonky side yard and added river rock and gravel where needed. I can't believe how hard his crew worked to make the slopes just right and get our formerly ankle-breaking yard into newly tip top shape. I'm so pleased with their work, I break out into the biggest smile when I look outside! Worth every penny, and he stuck to his quote- no up charges. I got two other quotes and his was best and he made suggestions on how we could save money. They even installed a temporary fence to keep the dogs out while the sod takes hold. They were meticulous with cleanup every night and at the end of the project. So professional!!! Three thumbs up!!! read more

We were really pleased with our finished yard. Tom went way out of his way to make sure we were happy with the work that was done. He was willing to work with in our schedule . We just love our new 3 bubble fountains and our graveled area and fire pit. read more

We had interviewed multiple landscaping companies and ended up with Tom and his crew. We recently purchased a new home and tore out 100% of the landscaping and installed astroturf and new flower beds. We could not be happier with how it turned out. Our backyard is shaded by big trees. Grass was never going to grow back there. Tom brought in astroturf and it looks amazing. The backyard is now very private, green year round and lush looking. It does not look fake. I also wanted a stone and rock walkway... gave Tom some photos of what I liked and he did a great job! Tom and his crew did a great job. Candace helps keep everyone on schedule. Tom was wonderful to work with and offered a fair price for the work completed. read more

I'm so happy with my yard from Tom's crew. We had artificial turf installed, a concrete pad for a hot tub, new bark laid, and trees/bushes planted. I vaguely knew what I wanted, but didn't fully have the vision of how I wanted it to be designed. Tom worked with my ideas, my budget, and helped me come up with something I was really happy with. I also have to add that Candace was great to work with. She was quick to respond back to questions and had great communication throughout the entire quote and execution. Working with landscapers or contractors you often don't get quick responses, however Candace handled everything and made it all a great experience. From a pricing perspective, the turf was in line - a bit lower - than other quotes I received. I have a very unique property in that everything had to be hauled in and out via wheelbarrow up and down a hill. So I know there was significantly more labor involved in my project than an average project. The cement price was significantly lower than other quotes I'd received. Overall the project was very reasonable and incredibly competitive, but the quality hands down top notch. It's rainy, foggy, and gloomy. But when I have a chance to get a better photo I'll update the review. Thanks for all the work! I love my yard. read more

Update: after receiving a bid on our second landscaping project from Tom at Luong's Landscaping, we decided to accept his very reasonable bid and move forward with our larger landscaping backyard project. This project included new irrigation, new sod, cobblestone pathway, new plants and shrubs, and barkdust in both front and back yards. His team did an excellent job! They are very professional and respectful. They clean up their workspace each evening before leaving. Our project took 5 full days to complete, and was completed within the time-frame quoted by Tom. We were so happy he could get us worked into his schedule so quickly as well. We will definitely be working with Tom and his team in the future! We're already discussing other landscaping projects we could utilize his expertise on. He has quite an eye for design! I would highly recommend! read more

Very happy with their work! I had a vision, but he took it even further. We live on the side of a mountain and had just clay and rocks and he crafted a beautiful front yard for us including pretty mature plants and trees. I understand Tony X's review, but I considered the conversations more friendly than manipulative. While it was pricey the end result was worth it. We just started a monthly service with him and hopefully it will go as well as the landscaping! read more

Requested house pre-sell landscaping brush up. And was given an estimate that was fair that included a lot of other materials, rock, bark, etc. . Did a high-quality job that was more than I expected , I was very pleased. Came out four weeks later, and all the plants that are growing like weeds were trimmed and put back to perfect . I highly recommend Luong's landscaping for good value and quality very conscientious and I!! read more

The owner came out to look at the scope of work and gave a quote on the spot that was 4x the cost of 5 other companies. He exaggerated the scope of work necessary while making small talk as if we were friends. I don't appreciate manipulation tactics, it gives the impression of untrustworthiness. Despite my questions and concerns raised, he did not indicate the equipment he planned to utilize or give any assurance that a property fence would not be damaged during the job. The impression given was he was used to dealing with millionaires who don't mind paying 4x the average cost for debris cleanup with 90% of the work being along roads with very little interior work. If the job was undesirable for him, he simply should have said so rather than test the waters. I made my choice to go with another company. read more

I literally dread choosing any contractor. It's a lot of money and a big gamble. I have had average experiences in the past bordering on bad. Luong's has been by far the very best experience we have ever had with a contractor. He was a breath of fresh air. A true professional. He had the best price, but I was so happy with him i would have paid more for the same experience. His team cleaned up after themselves every night, and he exceeded every single promise he made. He built is an incredible fountain, fire pit, retaining wall, laid pavers and put in an amazing lighting system. He came to check on his crew everyday. They worked Saturdays to get the job done. Our project took over a month with 3-4 guys coming everyday. We are going to have him put in a deck etc next. Thank you.. I have posted a before and after. It's not totally done yet but this will give you an idea. read more

I hired them to do yard maintenance for my yard, which includes a lot of shrubs and trees. During the first year they pruned back so many plants, including a lot of ferns, to the point that they died. Over time, it became clear that the agreement to maintain shrubs and trees really meant, as my neighbors put it, "Mow, blow and go". And, boy do these guys love their gas powered blowers! By the time I finally let them go, so much of the soil from my yard had been blown elsewhere that it was practically a desert. Communication with the person actually doing the yard work to ask them to do more than "mow, blow and go" was frowned upon by the people running the front office. Communication was only desired if it had to do with payment, which for "mow, blow and go", was prohibitively expensive. They had been pruning trees for me prior to doing regular service, and after getting a quote, agreeing to it, then I waited and waiting, reminded them, and no pruning was ever done. Now that I am again doing my own yard service my yard looks much healthier and happier-- not a desert with all life blown away from the surface. I'm using an actual arborist for the trees and shrubs, and it also really makes a difference having someone that knows what they are doing do the work. I would not recommend these people for doing anything. read more

We moved into a brand new house with a back yard that was nothing but a basic patio slab and mulch. Tom was able to take our vague desires (artificial turf and more patio) and also our vague likes and dislikes regarding plants and create a back yard space that is beautiful and perfect for our needs. At the first consultation he recommended a retaining wall and clearly had ideas about how it would all look. The crew that worked on our yard were great. They were obviously knowledgeable and meticulous about every step of the process. The paver patio and walkway on one side of the house are gorgeous. The plants look great and the artificial turf is well done. We absolutely recommend Luong's. read more

I cannot recommend Tom and his team more and would give more than 5 stars if allowed!   I've had the privilege of having two yards designed and installed professionally.  This most recent, completed by Luong Landscaping, has been the best experience!   It was reasonable, timely, and completed beautifully, the details that the team executes daily are impressive!   (leveling, layers upon layers of pounded gravel, rock, sand - each laid with intent and accuracy), Tom hears what you want and is able to visualize the concept and make recommendations to 'break it up' or 'add interest' -- all things I need assistance with!    The team is good-natured, respectful, hard-working and they clean up daily, Thank you, Tom and team, for such a showpiece - I am so excited to enjoy this space for years to come! read more

Communication was slow, but the outcome was great. I love my new landscaping. Could have used a few more annuals with color, I added them after this photo, but overall, Tom did a good job with the design. read more

We are very happy with our new landscaping! Tom and his team were great to work with. The guys showed up when they were supposed to, on time and worked all day, even in the pouring rain and cleaned up after each shift. They are very skilled and knew what they were doing. We have a new construction home and there was basically a sloped mud pit in the backyard. I gave Tom a design. He went over a few changes with me that were better suited to the lay of the land and they put it in just like the plan. It came out beautifully! I talked to 6 different landscapers when first obtaining a bid. Tom was recommended by a neighbor and we are so glad we went with him. The other bids were not as comprehensive and were 20% more for less work. Everything was laid out nice and clear. Candace is right on top of things and responds to emails and gets you quotes and answers questions. Would highly recommended them! read more

We have a small back yard that was mostly bare dirt. Our design was fairly simple, but Tom's team executed it beautifully. It took awhile to get them scheduled, probably because of high demand. The workers were terrific -- hard-working, putting in long hours, conscientious. read more

One of two companies that came out to give an estimate out of six that said they would. Came out on time. Had a huge clean up project. They arrived on time and worked hard to finish up. We wanted something simple for the backyard. We met with 5 or 6 different landscaping businesses and felt he would provide us the most for our money. He was always on time and appreciated his attention to detail. We were very pleased with the outcome. His crews were also great, they didn't leave messes behind and cleaned up after each shift. Outstanding all around. Would highly recommend. read more

We have used Luong Landscaping twice, and would not hesitate to hire Luong's again. Actually, I can't imagine you using anyone else other than Luong's landscaping. They have done an outstanding job replacing our mundane and overgrown yards with something stunningly spectacular. Tom is an exceptionally talented and skilled landscaper creating serene, tranquil, and beautiful landscapes at a fair price. He is not cheap. He is the best and he does the job right the first time and never takes short cuts. If you desire quality, something that will last and bring you and your loved ones years of enjoyment, then you should consider Luong's Landscaping. Tom, along with his professional, reliable and thoughtful secretary, Candance, and his diligent hardworking team, is an excellent choice if you're looking for a top notch landscape company. Candance is an excellent communicator and a pleasure to work with on any project. She's amazing. Also, I like to add that on this last job, at least a dozen positive comments were made as to the exceptional work ethic of the Luong Landscape crew. read more

We have a brand new home w/beautiful unobstructed mountain views out back. However, our yard shape is wide, yet very shallow w/strange angles & drop-offs. We saw the large waterfall at this year's Parade of Homes done by Loung's Landscaping & wanted this feature. Tom has incredible vision to make your dreams come true at a very fair price. Looks like they brought a totally natural stream w/4 drop-offs right off the mountain, w/beautiful miniature trees/plants to fit the water feature, along with dirt mounds & beautiful stones to fit perfectly in our yard, that can be viewed from any back window & from our patio w/that soothing relaxing sound to heal your soul. The Luong's crew was a pleasure to work with start to finish. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

Mr. Luong responded quickly to my request for a bid. I sent an e-mail to the business, and received a call from both the scheduler and Mr. Luong himself. Next day, at the appointed time, Mr. Luong arrived, surveyed the job's scope, and gave me a very reasonable quote for the services I had in mind. He was careful to indicate that the work would require a great deal of hand-clipping, and that aspect contributed to the bid. Having done this work myself for more than twenty years, I was well aware of the meticulous attention the yard requires. And, of course, my standards of care are high given that I personally planted every tree, shrub, and annual flower. At the appointed time, Mr. Luong and a colleague arrived, and completed the job with exceptional mastery. Mr. Luong is a professional of the highest integrity, and we plan to invite him back in the spring to trim the trees, as well as to maintain our yard on a regular basis. Many thanks to Luong's Landscaping for a most satisfactory experience. Sincerely, Andy Gregg, Barberton. read more

Tom did an amazing job on my backyard! I had just a general idea of what I wanted, and he designed a beautiful sanctuary for me, complete with lighting and a water feature. Highly recommended! Luong Landscaping just finished my small back yard (new development) project and I couldn't be happier. I showed Tom pictures of what I wanted done; he and his crew nailed it: Dry creek-bed with evergreen trees, plants, and boulders for a mini zen garden look, a small side yard gate, and a pergola. I am highly satisfied with the price, consultation, and execution phases of the project. The business is very busy and in high demand. I experienced a few delays during the execution, but it was well worth it! Check out their website for great landscape ideas. read more

Tom and his crew did a amazing job transforming my backyard. To be honest I can't stop looking at it I can't believe how gorgeous it looks. Tom was a pleasure to work with. Tom and his crews have done several jobs for us and we recommend them highly! When we built our house we got several bids to install our lawn and sprinkler system. Tom understood what we wanted and came in with a competitive bid. Over the last few years we've had them come out to help with small projects and then we decided to do some additional hardscape and irrigation. Again Tom completely understood what we were looking for and delivered a beautiful result. Besides great results, every single employee we've had the pleasure of working with is professional and considerate and they always leave the work site neat and tidy (which is great as the homeowner!) They also go above and beyond to make sure everything works and to fix things economically. We trust Luong's with our projects big and small and will continue to work with them! read more

Toms crew came out in the morning. With their excavator, they expertly removed about 70 scraggly 40+ year old arborvitaes. These "trees" were very close to the fence. There was no damage to the fence and his crew worked in a professional way. Well done. I highly recommend. read more

Highly recommend Luongs' Landscaping. My new backyard was a very different kind of project with a lot of unusual requests in its Asian style. They accommodated all my requests from a 'mole fence', to a Zen garden in concrete, and a full size torri gate, and all within my budget. I will definitely be using them again. We have used Tom twice for complete front and back garden landscaping - both at our old house and at the new house we just bought. He did an amazing and a very affordable job both times - including water feature, tropical island landscaping, lighting, pavers, irrigation system, etc. He returned promptly to make any minor adjustments needed, he was flexible to our change in plans, and he complimentarily replaced any plants that didn't do well upon plantation. He also has an awesome eye for design, we weren't sure what would look best and he basically designed it all for us. He was also honest and advices us against things we wanted to do that wouldn't look good or would last well / be easy to maintain. We got quotes from others for the same job and it was 30-50% more cost. I can't say enough good things about Tom! read more

I saw the great reviews for this outfit and called them up. I was only having them do a smallish job(clean out old flower beds and lay new bark dust) but Tom was enthusiastic about it. They quoted me a surprising low number for the work and I agreed. One of Tom's guys showed up a touch early at the agreed time, which was great. He really busted his ass off. A little bit over a year ago I hired them to do a small job: trim 5 trees and 4 shrubs. They skipped 3 trees and a shrub and badly pruned a maple. I asked for a partial refund for the incomplete work and he refused to give it saying he preferred to do the work this year. I looked at the results of his work and decided I did not want him in the yard again. Back in early spring of 2019, we reached out to this company to help us with backyard landscaping. It was not a big job, and the price quoted was much higher than expected, however they were referred by a neighbour so we went ahead. The crew showed up as agreed, however the Foreman attempted to receive payment before the work was completed and atempted to skirt some of the expectations per the agreement we made with them on work that would be done. Yes - I had to argue with him to get all of the work done that was promised per the quote. The summer following the work being done in 2019, one of the large trees they planted died. The contact in the office of the company promised that Tom would reach out to me to take a look and schedule a replacement, however Tom never reached out to me, even after dozens of attempts ( This is not an exaggeration I have the emails). When the rainy season began we realised that our yard had turned into a swamp due to the work done by the landscapers - Their installations had made it such that the lawn could no longer drain properly. When I spoke to the Foreman about this he dismissed my concerns How about this issue, so we hired another company at great expense to remedy the problem so that we could once again walk on our back lawn. After an inquiry last week and another one this week about the dead tree that were again ignored by the foreman, I have decided I should share my experience with anyone considering hiring this company. read more
