I hired Daniel based on his reviews and knowledge. I have a poorly installed sprinkler system that has leaked several times as pipes were not connected properly and several are exposed. Daniel came to "diagnose" the problem , which could be seen because the pipes had come apart and were above ground. The pipe needing replacement was easily accessible and approximately 10 ft. long. The estimate seemed fair because he stated he would repair the pipe and bury it as able. He did fix the pipe, but nothing was buried and he left the old pipe lying in my yard. When I complained, he stated that he didn't bury any piping because it would have increased the "scope of work". I paid $400 for one pipe replacement. His "remedy" was to offer to come remove the old pipe. I can't cut it into pieces small enough to fit in my trashcan. He didn't do this . Daniel replied to this review. He charged an initial fee for "diagnosis" of a visibly leaking pipe. This was supposed to be credited. The total was $400. I got a pipe fixed and left unburied in spite of the quote including this. Hi reference to the previous work is irrelevant. He had no responsibility for the exisitng state, which , as I said was poor. He fixed a leaking pipe. That's it. All arguments other than one leaking pipe being replaced, above ground, are not relevant nor do they justify charging $400. read more

"Do not let the high rating or social media videos fool you. I paid $750 for a sloppy, rushed job that I had to supervise myself. Despite claiming years of experience, Daniel showed a complete lack of basic horticultural knowledge. I had to stay outside for 6 hours (9 AM - 3 PM) because he didn't seem to understand simple plant logic--like the proper '4 and 4' spacing (4 inches of soil and 4 inches of mulch) to prevent plant rot. Major Failures: * Logistical Oversight: The crew arrived without a wheelbarrow. After an initial disagreement, Daniel acknowledged it had been requested, but they were forced to improvise using a trash can and my personal buckets. This lack of proper equipment led to an inefficient process and unbalanced soil use. * The 'Extra Time' Dispute: I paid a premium for a 4-hour job, but it took 6 hours because I had to constantly correct the work. Daniel claimed the extra time was my fault for insisting on correct measurements, and he suggested I should be 'happy' he didn't charge me for those extra hours or a trip fee to get more soil. In reality, the soil shortage and the delays were caused by his own lack of preparation and proper tools. * Poor Execution: The results are unprofessional. When additional items came up, I framed them as "if time allows," and I remained available because I was asked to be present for clarification. However, I found myself needing to repeatedly restate basic instructions--such as consistent plant spacing and proper soil and mulch depth--because those details were not being followed consistently. For that reason, I do not agree that the additional time was caused by my involvement. The response I received focused primarily on the time spent exceeding four hours, rather than addressing the quality concerns raised. The pressure wash job of my very dirty concrete driveway was done professionally. They went above and beyond by cleaning up the moss on the curb! The only negative aspect was that they postponed at the last minute on the day we had scheduled. I understand unexpected things come up, and work may need to be reprioritized. I had a great experience with Daniel Landscaping, a Father & Son Business. They responded quickly, and the bid quote was very reasonable, comparatively to their competitors. Our project was to replace the old grass and layout new sod, prune a tree and remove couple of small trees. They are prompt to respond and start the work on time. It seems that they paid attention to details and stepped up to do more to make sure things around look great. We had a special request to make sure the grass type was of our liking, they went and got it from Portland. That was very nice of them and now our lawn looks fabulous. They did some work on our sprinklers too as they were not at their optimum positions to make sure all of the grass would be watered properly. They did an excellent job of transforming our lawn and they were efficient and did an excellent job of cleaning up the debris. Dan and his crew did a fabulous job for us. Last year the constructed a cobble stone path and a retaining wall. Both projects turned out better than we expected. We asked them back this year to take out our front lawn and replace e it with a semi-formal garden. It has an 8" wall on the perimeter and a pathway meanders through it.
