My experience with this company was fantastic, and quite a relief after receiving a quote from…read moreanother Yelp highly rated plumbing contractor in Issaquah. The first quote I received was the price of a small, used car to repair a freeze damaged underground water line to my shop. The break was within 1 foot of where it daylighted from underground. At the price quoted, I was debating whether to repair it at all. I then got a quote from MV Plumbing, and it was 15.8% the amount of the other. That is not a typo, or 15.8% discount over the other quote, it was literally 1/6th the amount of the other company. Not sure if they used a different approach to the work or not. They showed up at 8:00 AM, and left at 8:50 AM, so you know they did not misquote the work to be done. I had installed a water meter, so could immediately verify the repair was proper and not leaking. Anyway, this is my 'Go To' plumbing company for sure, and another lesson in why we all need to get more than one quote whenever possible.

They then charged me 800.00$ gave me no receipt and didn't leave the box the faucet came in so I had no idea how to take care of it. I checked prices on the internet, even the Seattle plumbers do not charge that much He's done three jobs for me and it's always top dollar... so if you can afford this guy and don't mind paying cash and not getting a receipt, he's the one.

I started getting estimates from different companies, and Wyatt from Piper's came out to see the scope of the work. Whenever hiring contractors I try to understand beforehand the work involved with the hypothetical if I had to do the work myself, that way when walking through the project with the person giving an estimate it helps me figure out the rough bound of what I think the project should cost in labor and materials and to help me catch if there's additional "work" or costs that get put into the bid. With this in mind, when Wyatt walked through the issues he saw and roughly the work involved to fix the issues, it was nothing but an accurate assessment. I felt comfortable bouncing ideas of what made sense to try and tackle in the scope of the repair and what might be unnecessary as there was no real sense of an upsell, just what seemed like honest, professional opinions. Time is money for lots of these companies, and sometimes estimates get rushed which happened in some of the estimates I received; but not with Piper's. They took the time to understand what my priorities were, what constraints there were, and give fair realistic suggestions. After accepting what I believed to be a very fair bid, they were able to schedule the work and came exactly when they said they would. My plumber was Wyatt with a secondary helper - both did a fantastic job and were great at what they needed to do, so only praise there. They were respectful, used shoe covers and moving pads so as to not track dirt on my carpet, cleaned up all the debris from the work, and showed great care in their work. They also were considerate of my requests to minimize the cuts into the drywall and whereas many other bids told me it was necessary to cut drywall in three different rooms for the work they took on the extra inconvenience and were able to keep all the cuts contained to just the bathroom. Time will tell how well the work holds up, but as of now I have the utmost confidence the work will last.

We had scheduled another company to replace our water heater soon after our failure, and we knew we had to wait due to quarantine. Out of nowhere, the next day, they canceled their appointment with us, saying only that our technicians are injured. I looked on Yelp and found Water Heater Doctor. I called & discussed our situation with Patrick. After sending him some pictures of our existing water heater and home layout, he gave us a very fair quote over the phone for a high-quality Bradford White electric water heater and scheduled an appointment for the next morning after we were out of isolation. Patrick realized we needed a hot shower ASAP! Luke, the installer, and his assistant arrived as scheduled and installed the new water heater within 90 minutes. Good to know some companies still have this level of professionalism and customer service. We will be recommending Water Heater Doctor to all our friends.

Counting the business owner, three plumbers came today. This time my initial request was to replace two faucets. The plumbers who came to give an estimate a week ago discovered that the cold water valve needed replacing. Notice must be given to building residents 3-4 days in advance of water shutoffs per my HOA rules. A few months after the first time I needed this plumbing company, a contractor working on remodeling my kitchen should have found the valve problem. But since he did not, the silver lining is the quality of the work by this company. I have complete faith that the replacement valve will work perfectly since they installed it. They showed me the plastic valve they replaced and how it would not turn at all. We all liked the faucets I chose for them to install. In the bathroom my glass waterfall faucet has LED lights to indicate cold, warm and hot water. After installing it the plumber showed me a video of the lights working before I went in to try it myself. The kitchen faucet is a Moen which looks nice to start with, and has some great functionality. As the handle is turned for the water the head floats down a little. Then it is possible to select an angle for the head to remain, for example 45 degrees. It will stay in the selected position while the water runs. The owner took a video for himself! Besides the top quality of the work, I appreciate the polite and respectful manners of the owner and all the plumbers.
