With the septic system completely backed up, we couldn't even run the dishwasher. To make matters worse, it was during a snowstorm and on a weekend. We called that morning, hoping someone might be able to help, and this company absolutely delivered. By 1 PM they already had a crew at our house servicing the septic tank. Considering the conditions and that it was an emergency weekend call, the price was incredibly reasonable. The two technicians who came out were fantastic. They were professional, efficient, and clearly knew exactly what they were doing. They handled a stressful situation with calm confidence and had everything working again much faster than we expected. A special thank you as well to the owner, Mario, who made sure we were taken care of even though it happened to be his birthday. That level of dedication to customers really says a lot about a company. If you ever need septic service, I would highly recommend them without hesitation. They've officially earned a permanent spot on my emergency homeowner contact list.

I was told there was an extra fee because my particular type of system required a camera scope. After booking the initial service, I get a call back from them stating that I also needed an updated as built drawing. They said that if I didn't do this, it could create potential hold-up or red flag for the county. I'm guessing for this scam what they do is look at the google maps aerial view of your property and compare it to the most recent as built on file. I was told they normally charge $350 for this service but since I was already paying them for other services, I would get $50 off. woohoo, so generous. I also didn't quite know what the drawing entailed and if any special county filing was included.I was skeptical but I let it fly. Two guys show up for the pumping. The buff tank top guy from the website and a smaller dude with tobacco in his cheeks. Apparently more of the system needed to be dug up for the inspection. My husband does all of the digging and they kinda tell him where the stuff is. He gets the d-box exposed and the smaller dude, (Nathan, I think his name was) says that our d-box needed to be replaced as it was deteriorating and he couldn't give us a passing inspection without it. He quotes us $1500 and says he will come back and do it tomorrow morning. I'm obviously shocked to my core as my original estimate for services has now more than doubled. There's no way I'm paying this without a second opinion. So I call a few local, reputable septic companies for a second opinion. One company referred us to the man that they contract out for d-box replacement. I call that guy and it was our lucky day, he was doing something else in our neighborhood and could stop by right after. He confirmed that the d-box needed to be replaced. He also informed us that is a $200 part and we should not allow them to perform the work at the quoted price. He could come back the next evening with parts to help us finish it. Obviously at this point, I am livid. It's already annoying to be paying $1500 for a service that took less than an hour to complete. But then to try and pull a fast one on us like that? Nope. I called the main line right away. I said hey your guy told me i needed a d-box and it was going to be $1500 but I have this other septic company telling me it's a $200 fix. WTF. The receptionist, Tyler, is like well it requires a lot of digging and tried to justify it and also explains he doesn't really know much. I was like okay well my husband did ALL of the digging so there is very minimal labor involved. He was like well you can try asking the field guys but I can't really do anything about the price. So I call Nathan multiple times. And he doesn't answer and his voicemail is not set up. How convenient. I was calling to cancel and tell him to not show up. He shows up later than he was meant to the next day. Unfortunately, I was not home and this guy was dealing with my husband. Bless his soul, my husband is a sweetheart and the nicest person on the planet. People love to take advantage of that. He bullied my husband into agreeing to allow him to do the work for $500 off of the $1500 d-box repair. He convinced my husband that the other guy wouldn't have been able to do the d-box repair for us if he was licensed. He was in fact licensed but my husband wasn't the one speaking with him or the other septic company so he didn't know. My husband didn't want any more complications or hold-ups with the sale of our property so he just let him do the repair. 45 minutes later he was gone. The cherry on top really was that he charged us all that money and didn't even backfill the stupid hole when he was finished. Ah yes, SOOOO MUCH labor involved. I waited a week and had to reach out to them because I hadn't received a report or anything yet. Again, I was LIVID when I saw the updated as built drawing. All they did was reuse the old drawing and scribble out the things that were no longer there. I'll attach a photo of my $300 artwork so you can see the quality of work they'll provide you. What a freaking joke this company is. I will continue to blast this dishonest company on every platform available. I have informed my real estate agent to stop recommending them to her clients. I will make sure anyone in the neighborhood seeking septic services knows who not to call. I honestly don't even know how they are running a successful operation. They are obviously benefitting from taking advantage of people who don't know better because let's be honest, septic systems and inspections are not general knowledge. Shame on you. This was a very expensive learning experience and I hope this review helps you avoid the same mistakes.

The cost of having other companies review our project was costly, but there was no destroying our side yard and the final project was much less expensive. I would be wary of hiring them.

Josh explained everything he was doing and told me what items I could service myself, which you rarely encounter. It turns out the previous owners had it wired incorrectly and there was also corrosion at the connections due to caustic gases coming up through the conduit. Josh was very thorough in his troubleshooting and left no stone unturned. tl;dr: Fair pricing, quick, reliable and professional work, kind personalities…read more After being forced to snake my drains every couple of months, the galvanized pipes in my 60 year old home finally decided to call it quits and I decided it was time to replace them. I started getting estimates from different companies, and Wyatt from Piper's came out to see the scope of the work. Whenever hiring contractors I try to understand beforehand the work involved with the hypothetical if I had to do the work myself, that way when walking through the project with the person giving an estimate it helps me figure out the rough bound of what I think the project should cost in labor and materials and to help me catch if there's additional "work" or costs that get put into the bid. With this in mind, when Wyatt walked through the issues he saw and roughly the work involved to fix the issues, it was nothing but an accurate assessment. I felt comfortable bouncing ideas of what made sense to try and tackle in the scope of the repair and what might be unnecessary as there was no real sense of an upsell, just what seemed like honest, professional opinions. Time is money for lots of these companies, and sometimes estimates get rushed which happened in some of the estimates I received; but not with Piper's. They took the time to understand what my priorities were, what constraints there were, and give fair realistic suggestions. After accepting what I believed to be a very fair bid, they were able to schedule the work and came exactly when they said they would. My plumber was Wyatt with a secondary helper - both did a fantastic job and were great at what they needed to do, so only praise there. They were respectful, used shoe covers and moving pads so as to not track dirt on my carpet, cleaned up all the debris from the work, and showed great care in their work. They also were considerate of my requests to minimize the cuts into the drywall and whereas many other bids told me it was necessary to cut drywall in three different rooms for the work they took on the extra inconvenience and were able to keep all the cuts contained to just the bathroom. Time will tell how well the work holds up, but as of now I have the utmost confidence the work will last.

The water was just leaking in between that gap from overfilling the tub. But I'm giving you 4 stars because he DID advise me that I didn't need a water heater flush yet since it's only a year old. And he advised us we could easily do it ourselves, when I told him my husband and son work for SPU in Seattle. We have a State Water heater which it turns out is not the best kind of water heater to have when something goes wrong since they have proprietary parts that can not be ordered unless you go directly through a State distributor. On Christmas eve our pilot light wouldn't stay lit and thus had no hot water. I called Dave at Maple Valley Plumbing at 10:00 pm on the 23rd just to leave a voice mail to see if he could possibly come by on Dec 24th to check out the problem. He called me back in 5 minutes and came out to our house at 8:30am on Christmas Eve! He did a little research on our brand of water heater and found a potential solution that wouldn't require any new parts....just cleaning the corrosion off of the burner element and then put it back together. Tada! Hot water heater is functioning again. It is 10 years old, so not expecting it to last too many more years. He even gave us a credit for the money spent for his labor to go towards the purchase of a new hot water heater when it is time to replace. Our old 1950s plumbing finally failed. Never EVER EVER call Southwest Plumbing! My husband called them to deal with the initial emergency and they were incredibly expensive and they provided a solution that, in the end, wasn't efficient. We called Dave at Maple Valley Plumbing to come out and do the remaining (bulk) of the work and we couldn't be more satisfied. For the same price that the other company bid to complete one section of the work, Dave was able to do that work as well as replace all of our galvanized pipes, switch out our water heaters for tankless, replace our outdoor water bibs, added another one with hot/cold and he included additional fixes for issues identified as he found them! His crew showed up when they said they would, they were polite, careful and knowledgeable. I am so happy to finally have a reliable plumbing company I can trust. A week later, my son also had a plumbing emergency. Dave was all over it and fixed it at a most reasonable price. This company has my highest recommendation. read more

Dave undoubtedly knows what he is doing, but he was extremely disagreeable and short with me when I tried to inquire why he wanted to charge 3-4 grand labor for a 2-3 hour install. I remain very upset with him as I type this review. I had looked up replacement units, they range from 1200 - 1600. Because it is preplumbed, requiring only minor adaptations for the inlets/outlets, the websites estimate 2 hours labor. I was willing to pay for 3-4 hours. His quote was 6000. When I asked how much of the quote much was labor he said "I don't break it down that way". That's it. Then he walked away. I suspect this man has been able to up charge because of Covid and he just cherry picks his clients, but I don't know. I do know that's a huge pile of money. I have scheduled multiple other contractors to bid, I will see if he is an outlier or the "new normal" If you call him, be prepared to pay. A lot. I was not. read more

As new home owners in Maple Valley, we were desperate for plumbing maintenance. After reading countless reviews, we called Maple Valley Plumbing. The business owner Dave is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He put us on their schedule right away. Justin and Tucker arrived friendly and professional. They got the job done except for one part that needed to be ordered. Dave said not to worry and that he would send his guys back out (no extra charge) to finish the job. This time Danny and Andre showed up to finish and they were also a delight. Maple Valley Plumbing is an excellent company with excellent employees. I had some issues with my hot water system and it was costing me a lot of money. I had Maple Valley plumbing out to give me an estimate to modify my system. They gave me a fair price and outstanding service. I had estimates from some of the big companies and was frustratd at their prices. Dave, the owner, and Danny, employee, were awesome and so easy to work with. Great people doing a great job at prices that are realistic not like the bigger companies that came out. There's no one I would rather have help me with my plumbing needs besides Dave Sipila and any of the plumbers that work with him. I have been hiring Maple Valley Plumbing for 30 years and I trust them. The job is explained to me, the work is done in an efficient and timely manner. In addition, the cost is reasonable. Below is the replacement water system that was quickly finished today. In the past, my old fixer had plumbing replaced. In my current custom home, the plumbing was installed. He came out late on a Friday and replaced my leaky gas water heater, and helped fixed my ducting to my HVAC and did all the soldering about 500% neater than it was originally installed. Reasonable price for the repair to my main waterline. Arrived right on time, got to work exposing the leak, and completed the repair with the proper brass fittings (the old ones were plastic & cast iron). Professional workmanship from start to finish. Justin looked at the issue, offered several quick fixes and made some suggestions we can do without needing expensive repairs. To be sure, when I do need any plumbing help in the future (because with a house it's always "when" not "if") you can bet Steady Flow will be my first - and probably only - call. Just as a side note - I had two other plumbers come out to review the same issue. One said it would cost $1000K+ to fix, the other recommended replacing our 6 year old water heater (which is working fine btw). Many small plumbing companies are being bought up by private equity firms, which push expensive and unnecessary repairs or products to pad their bottom line. Steady Flow is a company that is still on the side of their customers!

I also had a new sink fixture that seemed straightforward to install, but while I had someone out, might as well have them do it. Scheduling was pleasant and we talked through the options and an estimate. I learnt that Mark (whose company was merged) would be coming out, and that sealed the deal, so to speak. (Back then, another plumbing service had done work that was ... needing a professional to fix. Mark and his father came out and took care of that and some weirder things (pressure reducer) with aplomb. Stress level was greatly reduced and led to immense respect for high-quality plumbers.) Fast-forward to 2023. Mark arrives, very pleasant, and walks through the requested work with me. The faucet turns out to be a lot harder because the one it's replacing had rusted/seized, but he gets it done and it looks great. My spouse is pleased. Next up, the toilets. Turns out the leaker was not what I thought it was, but it was simply addressed. The two others were inspected and those are fine. tl;dr: Pleasant folks, professional work, would not hesitate to recommend them.

Han's plumbing replaced a sump pump in my basement. The pump they replaced had lasted me 12 years…read morewithout a problem. The one that they replaced it with failed within 5 months and flooded my basement. Also the alarm failed to warn me so I couldn't prevent the flood. I called them and was told that I was out of warranty because it expired at 3 months. It was a $1500 parts and service. Justin came out and looked at it and told me that I was using too much suds in the laundry, That was a $250 visit. I lessened the suds dramatically and it flooded again. A year after the bad pump was installed and ANOTHER flood (3 floods now) I called another plumber to take a look and they told me it was the wrong model and type and replaced it with a better fit for another $1500. It all turned out to be very costly (not to mention the $5000 I had to pay in damages from the floods). They also pointed out that Hans Plumbing did not install the alarm properly as well. The new pump is working like a charm now AND it has a one year warranty on it, as it should. I'm also secure in the fact that the alarm has now been installed properly and will let me know if there is an issue. I'm so disappointed in Han's Plumbing and how they handled the situation. What is sad is that His father, the founder of this company worked hard to keep a successful reputable stance, hence why I believed in them. I was a client of theirs for decades! And now the name is being compromised due to unethical practices as of late, But the happy ending is that I am so happy that I found a good and honest plumber, FINALLY!!! They are awesome!!

After some diligent effort using a drain snake followed by his high‑powered water flushing equipment, the clog was finally cleared.
