We liked the work so much that Vortex did on our kitchen drain pipe (see below) that we had them come back and re-pipe our entire house's hot and cold water pipes. Our home had the original galvanized pipes from 1967. This which meant that the pipes were flaking (potentially a health hazard) and had a lot of mineral deposits - making the water pressure pretty bad. Baldeep and his team came in quickly and had a clear plan that reduced the amount of demo'ing they needed to do. Everyone was very nice, professional, organized, and did a good job following covid-safety protocol. I can now highly recommend Vortex for both big and medium-sized jobs. -- Vortex did a great job replacing our kitchen drain pipe too: We noticed water leaking in bubbles in our drywall ceiling, opened it up, and realized the entire drain pipe needed to be replaced...stat. We couldn't use our kitchen until we had someone out to do the work (doing dished in the bathroom sink is not fun, let me tell you). " When it rains it pours. Don't blame the Plumber." I had a "simple" bathroom sink leak. A leak in my sink drainage. Cody showed me my cold water intake valve was bad, leaking. He replaced it. When he left it was dry. Next day still wet. Cody returned. My faucet itself was leaking. When he left it was wet. I purchased a new Moen bathroom sink faucet at Home Depot. Cody returned and installed it with my original tailpiece. When he left it was dry. Next day wet. My original tailpiece was leaking. Baldeep came to service me. He reinstalled, tightened a few fittings. When he left it was dry. Next day wet. Chase came next and installed the Moen tailpiece. When he left it was dry. Next day dry ? Almost. They installed water heater in our house. The strap was not properly installed. I called them twice and they promised to come but never showed up. My under mounted sink was falling and every plumber I called insisted I could do it myself. I'm fairly handy, but I hate taking a chance on plumbing (or electrical). Vortex was priced similarly to other plumbers, but they knew exactly what to do to fix my sink. They came out, took the sink off, stripped down the old adhesive, and reattached it. In 24 hours they were back to remount the remaining plumbing. With that, all was well. However, after my sink was reattached I noticed that it was still leaking. The caulking wasn't done well. There were still gaps where water could get through. I chalked it up to the caulk settling, emailed Vortex about the issue, and they were back within several days to reseal my sink. Except, even after this second time the caulking had gaps. This was pretty frustrating. After doing a great job attaching the sink, they couldn't get the easiest part right. I sent a subsequent email and just told them I was disappointed. Sent a photo of the remaining gaps and told them I'd fix it myself. After $600 to fix my sink, I shouldn't have to buy caulk myself, but during a pandemic I really didn't want people to keep coming in my house to fix something easy that should've been done right the first time. read more

Used their services on a rental property. They showed up on time did a great job extremely good value.

It was a small plumbing issue, a dish washer backing up. But it was close to the holidays when I needed it to work, and Vortex Plumbing was able to send someone the next day after I called. 4 Stars for prompt response and scheduling. The plumber arrived on time the next morning. He noticed the kink in the outlet plumbing and used a hose clip to increase the flow of water through that stretch (he explained that would be cheaper than him replacing the entire plumbing hose). He then uncovered the countertop drainage and push some wire through it to ensure there were no food lumps. Ran the dish washer, and it worked great. But the cost of the hose clip is less than $2, and his actual work time was about 15 mins. He committed to leave the invoice later that day or following day. MIA. I had an electrician and his trainee working on installing a security camera today. The parts included commercial tubing and they spent a solid 1.5 hours. When I compare both invoices, the plumbing was 65% of the electrician. In summary, if you need immediate prompt attention, they are responsive. Price vs work effort is terrible. This is the second time I've hired Vortex, as I was very happy with their services the first time. Today-Thanksgiving Day with 6 guests staying through the weekend-downstairs toilet clogged and a plunger wasn't working. Turned off the water to the toilet. Someone decided to shower upstairs, which flooded the bathroom toilet. I called Vortex. He came out in 2 hours and quickly found the problem (roots blocking drainage from the septic pipe into the tank). It took him 45 minutes. He has all the best tools, i.e. cameras, etc. and quickly fixed the problem. It was $600 with tax, which is pricey in general, but it is Thanksgiving. 2-3 years ago we had a problem with the kitchen sink clogging. Another plumber snaked it but it clogged a few days later; he told me to find someone with a camera and jet cleaner. This is when I first found Vortex. Again, with all his equipment, he located a nasty, solidified mass in the pipe that looked like concrete, and replaced that section of pipe. I will always call Vortex for my plumbing emergencies. He was very professional and obviously very adept with his skills as a plumber. He was articulate and kindly negotiated a fair price for his plumbing services. We hired Vortex Plumbing to install a new 50-gallon gas hot water tank for $2,200. Afterwards the inspector cited 3 violations of City and State laws stating a need for 1) Expansion tank on the water heater 2) Earthquake straps and 3) Exhaust vent to slope per manufacturer specs. Later Vortex demanded we pay them an extra $500 to correct their 3 violations which they stated were "add ons," and we refused of course. Everyone especially Seniors (elderly) should be alert for extra charges or "add on" fees being assessed. read more

STAY AWAY!! Deep arranged a time to replace a bathroom faucet and was 45 minutes late. He then complained that the original faucet he was removing was badly corroded and difficult to remove. Really?! That's why I'm having the faucet replaced by a -supposedly- professional who should have experience removing challenging plumbing fixtures. Deep finally did replace the faucet but now the sink drain leaks. He blamed the leak on the installation hardware included with the Moen faucet I bought. He said he did not have a replacement on hand. I was shocked. What professional plumber doesn't carry common and basic parts to a job. He offered "to buy the part but I'll have to charge you to come back and install it." I was incredulous! I paid Deep the $200 -minus his offer of $10 for the leaking drain- to get him out of the house. He literally took the money and ran. He packed up his tools and was out the door in a flash. Two other complaints. 1) Deep was on the phone THREE times while working on the faucet. 2) He left with the bathroom sink filthy and stained with plumber's putty. STAY AWAY from Deep. Take your hard earned money elsewhere and find a real professional plumber to do the job correctly. I will update this post if Deep responds. Or if he calls me back (he still has my number). In 12 years of being a homeowner I never had to call a plumber before. I had a shower control valve that wouldn't shut off water in a rental property I own and manage myself. I was pretty sure I had fixed this issue before on a same model valve but I happened to be 200 miles away at the time. Not wanting to leave my tenant without water until I could return the next day, I was able to get these guys to go out same day. They communicated with my tenant when they would be late due to traffic and then texted me when they had completed replacing the cartridge on the valve, gave me the price in range I expected and sent me an invoice for billing. My only compliant is I paid the invoice with a check and it took them a few months to cash it, no communication if they had received it or not when I asked them. Usually the business has to hound a non-paying customer, not a customer needing to follow up with the business to take their payment. read more

We had multiple plumbing problems and Vortex Plumbing fixed them all quickly and completely. They assessed our situation and sent a plumber right away. In their assessment they told us what needed to be done to fix our leaks and what they recommended should be done to prevent similar problems in the future. They gave us the option of fixing only what was urgent or being proactive and preventing future leaks. We chose the latter but it was entirely our choice. Once the plumber arrived, he was quick, systematic, and considerate in checking off our problems one at a time. In one case the plumber didn't have the exact parts needed but he left and came back with the correct parts within an hour. We have no complaints. (PS. The only reason I give them four stars instead of five is that none of our problems were extremely challenging.) read more
