We recently had a power outage and ventured down to Asian Corner for dinner. We were greeted promptly by a friendly staff member and were seated right away. The restaurant is relatively small with a handful of tables inside, and a counter where you can pick up to go orders. They have several different options on the menu for you to choose from, many with both veggie and meat related items. There are several different soups, salads, noodles, and curries available. We started with fresh spring rolls and edamame. The spring rolls were incredibly fresh and are made to order every day. He did mention that they usually run out because they are a favorite. I elected to go with the drunken noodles with chicken, spicy #4 for my main dish, and my husband went with the pad Thai with chicken. My dish was incredibly tasty, lots of great flavors, the chicken was fantastically cooked, and the heat level was perfect. I absolutely enjoyed the food here and I look forward to coming back. I had a great Thai dinner at Asian Corner in Valley Park, Missouri. I ordered the beef drunken noodles which were excellent and some of the best I've had in St. Louis area although I've had better in other parts of the country and also in Thailand, where I've traveled a few times, but it's top notch Thai for St. Louis. Also, I enjoyed my vegetarian spring rolls although I was just a little bit disappointed that they were out of the fresh spring rolls that night, but I'll get those spring rolls next time I go back for lunch or dinner. I would just like to say how comforting this place was after a long day. The atmosphere was so calming especially with the choice of music. The chicken was so good especially with the sauce. And the mochi was literally so incredibly phenomenal, I just wish that it was an item that could be ordered for takeout, but it is the only item that has to be ordered in the restaurant. We've been hunting hood Chinese food for s while now in our new neighborhood and we struck gold, at last! Delicious (not sweet) crab Rangoon, excellent dumplings, and wonderful tempura vegetables! I took bits of the various appetizers while the husband had garlic and peppers with beef. Even our son, Champion Picky Eater ate a fair bit of Teriyaki chicken, with the remainder becoming part of our lunch next day. Service was fast and friendly and though we were the sole dine-in table at first, a steady stream of to-go orders were picked up and then, by the time we left most tables were full. They offer a scale for spice level. The only item we didn't love was the chicken satay. It was good enough, but I would have preferred a slightly sweeter peanut sauce and without lemongrass. I was not a fan of their spring rolls and the Panang curry- flavor was lacking a bit and it had a very watery consistency which is very odd for a curry. I have nothing but great things to say about this place, but to start I'll say: Asian Corner is consistently consistent. It's a family-run restaurant and you can tell that they care about the food they serve. I get the Drunken Noodles and Spicy Basil there each week and not only are they fantastic, but they are fantastic EVERY SINGLE TIME. The food is properly spicy (ie as ordered), flavorful, and precisely what I am looking for. EVERY TIME. The lobby is closed these days, but when it was open it was always clean and the service was friendly. ps. Their spring rolls left a lot to be desired, but really I cant expect much as they are not a Vietnamese place, and i am a spring roll snob. And finally i had Pad Thai which I've never had before so I have nothing to compare it to but It was delicious to me, I got it level 2 spicy and wish I had gotten level 3. Great spot that I never would've known about if it weren't for Yelp as it tucked away in a strip center. I had the Thai iced coffee and it was delicious. We shared the crab rangoons which were fresh and filled with filling. For our lunches I had the vegetable stir fry which came with white rice and was tasty. Since my last review, we've tried a couple other items: Stir-Fried w/ Eggplant (Eggplants, Bell Pepper, Green Onions, and Basil) for $10.95 and the Salmon Fried Rice listed at "Market Price". Both were overpriced as the eggplant entree was small, and there was very little quantity of small pieces of salmon in that fried rice, with a ton of salty brown sauce. It's good enough for people in this area who crave Asian and don't want to drive to the more authentic restaurants further away, but this won't be a regular spot for us. read more

I will start by saying that this business was delightful to deal with and I will be 100% coming back. There were a couple of misses but they were mostly preference things and that happens when you are trying to figure out what your favorite things are at a new place. I wanted crab rangoon and I wanted to get my kids to try something new. Asian Corner has some delightful american chinese favorites so I gave it a go. I initially started by ordering online via yelp but I always wonder if there are surcharges so I called to place my order instead. The phone ordering experience was simple and pleasant and the stated wait was only 20 min. I ordered crab rangoon, potstickers, chicken drunken noodles, chicken red curry, and lo mein. I clearly stated that the lo mein was for kids and I wanted nothing but noodles and sauce and the woman on the phone was very nice and understanding and gave me no grief. When I arrived for pickup I was very pleasantly surprised by how nice the inside of the restaurant was. It's not in a super high class location so I expected a basic carry out experience. It was very clean, nicely but simply decorated, and just generally felt good. I will definitely be coming back to eat inside. Only one person was at the counter and he helped me quickly and with great service. I found that my bill was the same as it would have been via online yelp ordering, so no surcharges for ordering online. The very nice man at the counter seemed very worried that he notices that the top of my paper bag tore when he removed the receipt. He reminded me twice to be careful picking it up and offered me a plastic bag. When I got home I found that my food was all correct, exactly how I ordered it and packed neatly. The crab rangoon were perfect, crispy, creamy, and not strongly flavored with anything, just like I like them. They came with an interesting vinegar based sauce that I really enjoyed. The potstickers were not loved by my kids. They seemed to be wrapped in egg roll wrappers instead of wonton wrappers like the kids are used to. I think they tasted good but the different texture threw the kids off and they didn't eat as many as I hoped. I may try the steamed dumplings next time instead. The lo mein was exactly as I ordered, just sauce and noodles. The kids liked it and were so happy not to have to pick anything out. They didn't notice but I noticed a faint fish-sauce flavor. I think this is to be expected with thai food since that's a staple of pretty much everything but it did taste different than your garden variety lo mein, so please be aware. The kids didn't complain but it's not my favorite flavor so I would not order again for myself. They were a thumbs up to order again from the kids. I felt like possibly my spice levels were mixed up between the noodles and the curry, but it was not significant. The curry was ordered at a level 1 and the noodles at a level 2 and I felt that the curry was a little hotter. Both were so good and such a nice tingly burning level of spice. I may very well have ordered wrong but I did expect the noodles to be spicier than the curry. I would not go over a level 2 unless you know for sure what you're doing. The drunken noodles were perfect and I will absolutely order them again. The curry was a little thinner than I have had at some other thai places but the flavor was delicious, and I just ate it with a spoon out of a bowl like soup. The curry came with a very small order of white rice. I would have probably preferred a larger size but it was fine. I had a delicious dinner and found a new great place! I just wish they had Crying Tiger on the menu because that is my absolute favorite. read more
