By far the best Asian Buffet in Tucson. What struck me first upon walking in was the cleanliness of the restaurant and food lines. They offer items not seen at most other Asian Buffets. Their selection of sushi is good and you have the option of ordering fresh Mongolian Stir Fry. Their desert and salad bars are small but adequate. This new spot is clean, the food is displayed clearly, and the staff are helpful. Unfortunately, it is ultimately all about the food. Meh at best and pretty inedible at worst. Typical buffet. Okay. Meat was kinda warm, soups were decent. Sushi wasn't bad but not quality. Servers are slow to fill up water. Mongolian bbq was good. It was a completely "good" experience. Soggy egg rolls though. I didn't like the table they sat me at, but had it really concerned me I would have asked to switch. The table was set nicely though. So happy we have this new buffet in town!! Well priced & the food is great! They have all of our favorite Asian food! My kids love it here! Highly recommend! Service is great! The food is soooo good here. The Asian buffets in Tucson have not been that good but this place is the exception. The food is continually filled and is so fresh I enjoyed everything. PART OF YOUR MEAL MAY HAVE COME OFF MY PLATE!!!! After shopping, Ophelia, who's my wife, and I decided to go to what used to be our very favorite buffet, the Asian 1 Buffet. We have gone many, many times, and have taken many friends and family, too. Upon finishing our meal, I saw the crab come out. Hey, it's crab; so, even though I had already eaten I grabbed two claws, four legs, and butter. I was about to partake in this little treat, skipping dessert, instead, when our server stopped me. He informed that the crab was for their dinner patrons only. He pointed out we were lunch patrons. He asked if I would like to upgrade. Embarrassed, I declined and he took my plate to the room next to the desserts, where I think they keep the beverages. A few seconds later, he emerged with what looked like my plate, sans the butter. He then dumped those claws and legs into the bucket of a young woman filling the buffet steamer. In went the crabs off my plate. Gross! Now, was the crab I served myself ever near my mouth. No, they were not. Did I breathe over them? Yes, I'm still alive and breathing. Did I touch them? Yes, I had just arranged them on my plate and had picked one up to crack it open when I realized I had no utensils and went to fetch a fork and nut/crab-claw cracker. I had just sat back down and picked the claw up again when the server approached to inform and take the crab away. One, if I were the server, I would have politely informed the customer, and then I would have encouraged the customer to please enjoy the ones taken, but to be aware in the future that lunch slides into dinner. There is no break in between. I would never have insisted the customer pay dinner prices to keep the paltry amount that was on his plate. I probably would have said something along the lines that it was not like I could put them back. Two, I would never have put them back out for another diner to consume. Did I mention how gross it is to do something like that? Do I need to mention that, if this is what happens in the front of the house, in full view of their patrons, can you imagine what goes on in the back of the house, when it's outta sight, outta mind? Three, when I spoke to the front house manager, and the woman standing behind him, neither one said a single word in response - nothing, and I know they understood me, because, like I said, we've been there many times in the past; I'd spoken to them before today, and they always replied. As much as we liked this place, driving across town from the Southwest side to eat there, we're done. I have visions of servers stirring yesterday's left overs into the cook's offerings for that day, in order to save money. As it's been said, whatcha don't know won't kill you. Great food and brighter space than the buffet place at Heritage Plaza on Ina. (I think dark spaces are dated & depressing). I got mostly Chinese food and all tasted great.
