The problem is that the items we ordered had some short comings Big breakfast - the French toast was cold, the potatoes not seasoned enough and the toast stale and dry. Almost like 2 days old with no cover. The eggs Benedict were fine just here as well a little more seasoning and a little more freshness/ hot would have helped. The English muffin was almost burned. Ashley's is always a great experience especially if Cyndi is your waitress. along with the food being delicious and always being able to get a table quickly, Cyndi's friendly and pleasant service was a treat. My boyfriend and I went in for breakfast and I got decaf coffee and he got regular coffee we had Cyndi for the first time going in there last weekend. When we went to Ashley's the next day and Cyndi was our waitress again she served us two coffees right away and we had a party of four, we looked up and said hey! like we were surprised because we didn't even order yet and she went decaf and regular right! We felt special in that moment that she remembered us and that we had those coffees! definitely go to Ashley's for a good breakfast with a homey feel and if you get Cyndi you're lucky! My whole family loves coming to Ashley's!! They have something for everyone from fresh cut to order fruit cups to hash Benedict with homemade hash! The service is fast but not rushed. No matter how busy the girls are they always make sure we have full coffee cups and everything we need. Even the owner will come out to greet customers! And have our drinks poured before we sir down. Ashley's is by far the best breakfast spot on the south shore. With virtually every breakfast item imaginable on their very modestly priced menu I can't think of another breakfast spot that is even in the same realm. The place is definatly full of charm-Patty is a great waitress and if you dine there enough she'll learn your order. There is plenty of parking located next door in the CVS parking lot. It does get busy on the weekend, however, i've never waited longer than 10 mn for a table. Just OK. If you're going here for a cheap, greasy breakfast you'll be well served. Nothing that exactly stands out but an all around good place to visit for early morning fare. Ashley's has an expansive menu, which can often be a bad sign in the restaurant industry. My recommendation would be to focus on a few key menu items. My husband and I went to Ashley's one morning after church because our usual breakfast spot was too busy and we were in a rush. Perhaps I was wrong to go there with expectations it was like the other restaurant, because we were both pretty disappointed. I ordered pancakes and a cheese omelette. I wasn't expecting anything fancy, but I also wasn't expecting a paper thin omelet with a little bit of cheese and dry pancakes. My husband's omelet was better, which saved the dining experience. It was pretty crowded while we were there and the service was fast, but our waitress seemed to be half-listening when we were ordering and only came back once to deliver our food. At the recommendation of my brother-in-law and his wife, we stopped at Ashley's for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place is small and hub of activity. The menu offers plenty of choices, including 3 different types of sausages. We both ordered the Greek omelet, which consisted of tomato, onion, spinach and feta cheese. Home fries came with the omelets and we also had an order of the sausage. The food was very good and service was quick, even though it was crowded. Ashley's was filled with repeat customers as the servers greeted people by name as they sat down. We recommend Ashley's as a friendly local place that serves good breakfasts. I went to Ashley's today and was unsatisfied with the food. The energy in the restaurant was off. Some of the staff seemed to have issues with one another. My waitress was friendly. The food was mediocre. The pancakes were hard on one side. (so my son did not eat them) The bacon was dry. My omelet had a burned taste to it. I ordered steak and they didn't have any. After I left Ashley's I went & got McDonald's pancakes. I appreciate mom and pop restaurants but Ashley's needs an update. The staff as a whole could be friendlier. They need to update the whole look and feel on the inside. They need to have food on hand that is on the menu. The best looking part of that place is the bathroom. This place has a rock out extensive menu with lots of great choices and cozy inviting atmosphere where you'll feel like one of the locals... Me and some friends at down in this place. First off there is very little seating for big parties. When I was getting my food the waiter dropped some of my food and said she would bring some of it back out because it was 2 pieces of toast and some home fries. She never got any of my food back. Kelly and I try to go to new places when we go out for breakfast on the weekends. Last weekend we decided to give Ashley's in Braintree a try. Now, when I go out to breakfast on the weekends, it's because I am either too lazy to make something for myself or because I want something that I wouldn't typically make at home (i.e. Belgian waffle, Eggs Benedict, etc.) or both, so when I was sitting in Ashley's last weekend eating bland eggs and sausage patties from the freezer aisle of Stop & Shop you can probably guess how disappointed I was. My waffle was overcooked, making it almost unbearable to eat. The lack of variety of breakfast combinations was also concerning for me. I love to see places that offer up a good selection of combination plates, and less a la carte! Ashley's does offer free WiFi, however you have to ask your server for the password. Good luck with that, after our food was dropped off we couldn't even get her to come back for a refill on our drinks. The place was quite busy and it seemed as though all the staff just waited on whoever, there didn't seem to be any assigned sections or tables. Sitting at the counter didn't help much. I would probably not go back to Ashley's. They could be so much better if they just put a little effort into it. If we were looking for a breakfast spot in the area skip over Ashley's and head down to Kristen's. read more

Ashley's is truly a hidden gem of the Boston area. I end up coming here almost every weekend for brunch with my boyfriend, and we are truly sad if we have to miss a Sunday spent in one of their booths. The place gets pretty packed on weekends, but I've never had to wait more than 10 min for a table. The waitresses are busy but friendly, and after coming a few times they'll get to know you and your order. I like the fact that we have two cups of coffee on our table before we even order. The menu is pretty extensive; pancakes are yummy and fluffy, there is a HUGE list of different omelets to choose from, and the portions and prices are very reasonable. This is a true neighborhood joint-- you'll see all kinds of people stop in, from families, to couples, to teenyboppers, etc. And they have a dedicated base of regulars too. Big fan here. read more

We love this place! My husband and I have been here a couple of times and the waitress remembered our drink orders and us today! They are so sweet and were accommodating even though we were there a little late today and stayed a few minutes passed closing! They gave my husband two orange juices even though the machine was shut down (because he loves it and last time they were out)-! So so sweet! Our company has ordered from Ashleys for many years now. As of recent they continue to get the orders incorrect. After the 3rd mistake in the past 3 weeks I finally decided to call and speak with them about what has been happening, Ariano who stated he was the "manager" and then later stated he was the "owner" initially blamed the mistake on the computer program that they use for on-line orders, then blamed me stating that we must have entered the order incorrectly... (of course we did, 3 separate times we have entered in the wrong food, it could happen). Ariano refused to replace the order or offer a refund. Multiple times Ariano stated I wasn't telling him the truth, when I asked if he was calling me a liar he stated that I wasn't telling him the truth. If I'm not mistaken if someone isn't telling the truth then they would be... (wait for it) that's right LYING. Ariano said that he would send me the copy of the order, I don't know what good that would do as the "copy of the order" is not what I had planned on eating this morning. I highly doubt that Ariano is both the manager and the owner...that's sort of a one or the other type of thing, you are or you are not. At the end of the day (and I hope many other people follow this rule) I will not support nor patronize an establishment that either 1.can't get the job done right, 2. will not do the right thing by either making good on the purchase or refunding the money, 3.blames a software company in California (which is who Ariano told me to call to get a refund). 4. accuses me of "not telling the truth". If I could have left work and gone directly to his establishment I would have, and more than likely made a VERY public display of Ariano's CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS... OR LACK THEREOF. Funny things is over the past few months we have been thinking of trying a new place to get breakfast at work because of the mistakes and the decreasing quality of the food. I wish we had looked at the reviews because we would have found a better place a long time ago. If it was possible to grade individual aspects of this establishment I would give the food 2 stars, service 1 stars, value 1 star, and management/owner (whatever Ariano is) a flat Zero star. I have never believed in the adage "the customer is always right" but I would never treat any customer with the level of disrespect and lack of courtesy that was shown today. Because of Ariano's decision we will stop spending the roughly $200-$300 a week (yup that's right Ariano...add it up, I'm sure whoever really is the owner won't mind losing that income over the course of the year. But in the end things happen for a reason, we will find a place with better FOOD & EMPLOYEES to order from, Ashleys will lose more customers and go out of business. read more

The breakfast I ordered was not hot enough and the two biscuits that I received looked like the waitress puked on them. They put some kind of horrible gravy on them. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT order anything except for breakfast foods here. My sister ordered a chicken panini and it came out on a hotdog looking bun and tasted like defrosted chicken cutlet. Mom ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and the buffalo sauce was so spicy, it was inedible. We also ordered a Caesar salad and it was shredded lettuce with wayyyyy too much dressing. It was sad. I ordered the Greek omelette with home fries and cinnamon raisin toast and it was phenomenal. We happened upon Ashley's because Kristin's down the street was closed. While the restaurant itself was cozy and had that nice neighborhood feel, the food and service was sub-pare. In fact the only reason this gets 2 stars is due to how fast the food was brought out. To start, the waitress was behind the counter talking/texting a good portion of the time. I find this unprofessional to say the least. I ordered the eggs Benedict which I was barely able to eat because the hollandaise sauce was SO sour due to excessive lemon juice. It was obviously bought pre made. The eggs were also way over cooked. My husband ordered french toast which wasn't bad but nothing to write home about.
