We've eaten at Ashley's 3 or 4 times in the last year, and each time it has been great. Today we stopped for lunch and I had the meatball sub with fries. It was fresh, hot and delicious. The servers are fast, friendly and efficient. We make it a point to eat here when leaving Boston. read more

Love Ashley's. We go here at least once every weekend. Perfect way to get the weekend started. They offer the standard breakfast fare but make the best home fries I've ever had and are constantly adding new things to be menu. Love the Bacado omelette. Service and prices are excellent. This was one of worst meals I've ever had! Really disgusting. I came here for breakfast, got eggs, Home fries, bacon, and sausage. The eggs were overcooked, the home fries were incredibly greasy, and the sausage and bacon were both burned. There was pretty much nothing redeeming about this meal. I would never return to this restaurant. There are other diners in Braintree that are much better! The waitress was nice at least. read more

Worst food ever I'm pretty sure it made my boyfriend get a mild form of food poison. Never again will be go back. We enjoy trying new places and eating out but the food wasn't fresh at all. The French toast was gross, eggs were even worse and the home fries were horrible. read more

Just came to Ashley's for breakfast ordered an omelette it was Burt to a crisp nothing in it the home fries were discussing the toast wasn't even toasted. The coffee is beyond strong. This was the worst breakfast I have ever had. I've eaten at a million restaurants and I have never ever written a review. That's how bad this place is. I will say The staff was very friendly. The waitress could tell I wasn't happy and asked a few times if it was ok. I'm not a person that complains to the staff so I lied. I wish I could give this dumpster fire -5 stars. read more

Ashley's is an amazing breakfast place! the atmosphere is so comfortable and the staff is unbelievably kind! the food is so good! they have new ice coffee flavors my favorite is the girl scout one way better and cheaper than going to marylous. it's very welcoming and inexpensive! love it ! :) read more

Not a bad place for breakfast at all. You can tell they have their fair share of regulars. My mom told me I spoke my first word here (27 yrs ago) so it's been around forever! It's nothing different, not too special, but definitely can hit the spot for a greesey egg sandwich or french toast and bacon. I'd prefer Kristin's in Braintree due to their variety and fun new things to try. It also seems a little cleaner than Ashley's. read more

Like the fact it's a non commercialized place to eat... Really can't go wrong with breakfast but wished the home fries had more flavor. Coffee was good, hot and strong with good service keeping it topped off. Portions were full plates. Prices were very reasonable. Would definitely return and recommend to others. read more

My mom and I like the Olympian Diner but they were closed so we walked over to Ashley's for breakfast. We both ordered pancakes, eggs and coffee. The food was horrible. The eggs were supposed to be scrambled but they looked like plastic omelets. I took one bite and couldn't take another. The pancakes tasted like bisquick patties. The meal was awful - worse than a hospital. When the waitress asked how it was I replied that I did not care for it and got nothing. No I'm sorry you don't like it, no would you like something else, no whats the problem, just walked away without a word. I don't understand how this place stays in business or how some of the reviews on here give it a good rating. Will never go back and do not recommend. read more

After reading reviews about this place, I finally tried it this morning. It was not busy when we arrived. My granddaughter ordered waffles with fruit & whipped cream. They forgot the whipped cream. I asked for my toast dry, it came buttered. They overcharged me $1 for waffles. When I asked it be corrected, she argued with me. Not good business practice. Food was average at best. The owner of this restaurant argued with me when I told him that his sour cream was spoiled and that I could not eat my breakfast. He accused me of not wanting to pay and that he tasted the sour cream and it was fine. I asked him if he had also smelled it because there was a foul smell and it tasted awful. He continued to raise his voice at me and argue. I have never been so embarrased and will not be returning. I am a full supporter of small local family businesses and I would have returned if this situation had been handled differently. read more

We hit up Ashley's when our usual brunch joint was too busy and I don't know that we will be back. Pros: Super fast service - this is certainly not these ladies first time at the rodeo - they moved lightening quick. Affordable, they don't waist money on garnish and presentation, you get what you pay for and that is that. Cons: Perhaps it was what we ordered and we just got some of the "meh" items, but I felt the food was bland. The hubby ordered a crab benny, the crab filling was very bready, and the egg was on the side! I ordered the ham and cheese bagel which also required assembly. That bummed me out - my favorite part of a breakfast sandwich is that is comes all stacked together forming a melted mess that you just bit into - I was not in the mood to piece it together, and having an egg patty, slice of ham and a toasted (not grilled) sitting on a huge plate with lots of empty space made me say boo (at least plate it on a smaller dish) . The home fries were ok, but tasted and looked like they came out of a freezer. Next time I will just wait at Nikos - I feel bad for straying. read more

food was just okay. our waitress's hands were visabally dirty with a thick lining of filth under each of her finger nails. moreover i felt like this place was mildly racist. we were the only people of color (black and Latino) in the whole restaurant and none of the staff treated us as warmly as they did any of their white customers. it was our first visit and we'll never be back. read more

One star... for what was obvious to my family and one lone white stranger who observed how disrespectful we were treated. They did not even offer us our mother day roses... she ran out the restaurant to offer us hers SHAME ON ASHLEY's.... Walked in and we were greeted by a non smiling person who seated us..no biggie if the food is good. The three of us ordered, while waiting we noted the sloppy handwritten signs and less than desirable surroundings...no biggie if the food is good. I ordered an iced tea, it was served in a 16 oz plastic cup, with extra ice as I ordered. I, also, ordered egg whites scrambled (prepared- well done), sausage patties and hash browns...how could this go wrong at a restaurant only open through lunch. The eggs were folded not scrambled nor cooked completely, the sausage was warm at best, the hash browns although the same shape as Micky Ds, were not browned, nor as good. Go figure! My companions were not pleased with their meals either, I will not bore you with the details but skip the pancakes if you insist on ignoring this review. But the topper, in addition to everything else already noted, when I asked for more iced tea, the waitress asked if I wanted to finish what was in the cup because there was a charge for seconds. I explained it was not soda but iced tea, she knew, I said "no thanks". We were so disappointed. We had this meal as part of an eleven day road trip from MI to the east coast ...without a doubt this was the worst breakfast we had, in oh so many ways. read more

Tremendous breakfast options with combinations located on special pink board which include coffee!! Lunch starts at around 10:30 and includes a wide variety of lunch fair. Seating is cozy with a nice counter which is usually filled with local regulars. Parking is on street. read more

We loved this place! Stuck at the Motel 6 in Braintree, so we asked for a good place for breakfast. Not disappointed. Very friendly and helpful staff gave us good service and good travel advice. And where else can you get a delicious Greek omelette with potatoes and English muffin for six bucks?? Peanut butter-banana French toast also available. Located a few blocks from the train station. Terrible: Just tried Ashley's, wasted my money and will never go back. The homefries were burned, the hash was not edible. The eggs were dirty as if the grill had not been cleaned. I had the salad which small and just a bunch of iceberg lettuce with the dressing coming in packets. The crispy chicken was frozen patties cut up and tough to chew. Just lousy food in a dumpy and unclean environment. The staff was better than the Olympian Dinner but the food at the Olympian is far better for the same money. read more

The best breakfast in Braintree at a very fair price

wow i just came on this site to tell you all what a wonderful breakfast i had at ashley's this past saturday 4/3/09. and after reading thru the reviews i was shocked to see that the party of five from eastham that were behind us were so dissatisfied. i believe it was the same party of 5 just from the description, i remember the girls being extremely friendly and apologetic for our slight wait. on a saturday with the restaurant as busy as they were our wait was minimal. the three small tables that were referred to are just that 3 very small tables. the girl i believe to be the head waitress explained that the tables together would still be cramped and that they might feel uncomfortable, the wait would be just a minute and that she would attach one of the small tables to the end of a booth so that all would be comfortable. during the wait the cashier was talking to everyone enquiring as to where we were from and talk of opening day at fenway. after we were seated we noticed the older man in the group saying something, one of the young ladies with him motioned he be quiet and told the staff they were fine and would wait, the man then headed to the door with group in tow and left. not 3 seconds after they left tables opened and the wait was no more. read more

if I could rate Ashleys in the negatives I would. I ordered a menu item that was supposed to come with cream cheese but it arrived with sour cream instead of cream cheese and nasty artificial strawberry syrupy stuff. I sent it back to the kitchen and the waitress returned with the mess on the plate saying there was nothing wrong with it and they had already sold 2 that morning.. they wouldnt take it off the check. So if 2 other people were dumb enough to be duped into thinking it was cream cheese instead of sour cream, I should be too right? She asked me if I wanted anything else to be made while already paying for the sour cream french toast. I declined. Then another waitress offered a coffee refill to my dining companion, he declined and she rudely didnt even offer a beverage refill to me and walked away . This place deserves an F, and obviously make their money off customers that think mediocrity is excellence. read more

Given all the reviews we read of Ashley's in advance, we expected, coming from out of town, a fun time and a great breakfast. We never got that far, and were sadly disappointed. We were a party of five adults, which seemed to overwhelm the people working there (for some reason they felt the need to announce to their kitchen staff that we were a party of 5!). Three people behind the counter watched and seemed to ignore us as we waited 15 minutes to be seated, despite there being three empty tables for two each directly in front of us. These empty tables could have easily been turned to permit the five of us to sit comfortably together, and still allow more than sufficient room for others to walk past us. We asked if this could be done. We were rudely told 'No'. They intended to sit the five of us in a small booth instead. It was clear to us that the people working in Ashley's had no interest in making sure we had an enjoyable visit at their restaurant for breakfast. After a continued, prolonged wait, we left for the Olympian Diner just down the street. We were welcomed there, had a wonderful waitress, great service, and a terrific breakfast! read more
