Ca Phe Kem Pho Mai - one constructed, one customized
    Taylor S.

Always hunting for the top notch Vietnamese coffee, found some spots that come fairly close to being top notch and this is one of those places. Plentiful space that encourages a vibrant environment with a good number of students studying. I only tried their coffee and basically got a deconstructed version of their Ca Phe Kem Pho Mai as I don't like too much sweetened condensed milk as it's too sweet. They gave my the condensed milk on the side so I could add to my own liking. It was a fun drink and looked cutesy with the dried orange topping. My partner got the regular Ca Phe Kem Pho Mai and thought it was too sweet, he wished he had gotten my version. The staff were very friendly and tried their best at accommodating. I wouldn't go out of my way, but if I was in the area I would stop by again.

    same price as SB Cortado.

Enticed by menu and had wanted to visit. Came by after lunch on a very cold day; asked if they had hot coffee since menu only offers cold beverages. Got a hot ca phe latte. Taste was on par, but that's just about it. $5 for a cup smaller than Starbucks cortado, and only about 85% filled (so, more expensive than Starbucks). Most interestingly, this hot coffee is not even hot. Barely warmer than lukewarm when the cup was passed to me, which quickly turned cold by the time I walked back to car. What I wonder is: how can a freshly made beverage not even hot to touch? The water that has been sitting in my thermos for 3+ hours was hotter than this "hot" coffee. The place was seated to capacity and the ambiance not bad. Food looks good too so I'm sure they're doing something right. But hate to say that it was a disappointing experience for me.

I love Vang Coffee Bar! They have plenty of seating & free wifi so it's a lovely spot to get comfy and get work done. Their staff is so nice & helpful as well. I went with their Banh Mi Chao Tieu Den (tender steak plate with eggs) which was so incredibly delicious! The bread on the side is nicely toasted so you can put together your own breakfast banh mi. The steak, eggs, & pickled veggies were perfectly cooked and seasoned immaculately. I also got their Ca Phe Kem Pho Mai (viet coffee with whipped sea salt cream) and the coffee was strong! You really feel the caffeine kick & I love the slight sweetness that comes from the condensed milk / sea salt cream. Would highly recommend giving them a try if you're craving Viet comfort food.

Honestly, love this place. Food usually comes relatively quickly, plus it's pretty filling despite not being very heavy! The staff are also quite nice, patiently answering any questions we've got regarding the menu items (and shooting some recommendations here and there too). The only downside is that the shop does feel a bit small, but it's got a pretty refreshing vibe to it. Definitely coming again, especially for their rich and creamy egg coffee and black pepper pan.

If you're ever around Quincy, I highly recommend coming here. You can dine in or a quick grab and go. Their Vietnamese coffee is so good. We knew that we wanted to stop by Vang's for breakfast before our Cape trip. We needed a hearty and fulfilling breakfast. They did not disappoint. The Bo Ne was amazing. My only minor complaint is I wish the skillet was still hot when it comes out. Other than that, from the steak to the pate, everything was amazing. My favorite part of the Bo ne was the cow cheese they added. That brings up childhood memories of my family eating this. The pho was something different. It was similar to Vietnamese beef stew (Bo kho) with fresh pho noodles. I did not mind at all! Only complaint was I wish there was more broth. lol I almost went up to ask for more lol. Coffee was on point! If this was located a little closer to home, I would definitely come here every weekend to get their Vietnamese coffee. Shoutout to the worker who knew what I wanted when I requested for something spicy. I asked if they had any hot sauce. She offered me chili peppers. It definitely made my Bo ne up a notch! Great staff, friendly service. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Exceptional food and drinks but the physical space could use some work. We came on a Wednesday morning and it was pretty much empty. There's wifi and plenty of outlets for people to use their laptops, but it's also good for just enjoying a nice meal. I got the Nhai Kem Pho Mai drink and the Bahn Mi Trung Lap Xuong. The drink had a pleasantly strong tea taste, and the sea salt cream added a nice touch of sweetness. The bahn mi satisfied my breakfast craving with the balance of all the fillings. There's one bathroom but compared to the beautiful dining area, it wasn't the cleanest. The toilet seat was askew and there were no paper towels or hand dryer, just a patch of wall missing paint where I assume it'd be. The dining area also suddenly got uncomfortably warm. Maybe the air conditioning broke or wasn't strong enough for today's heat. We planned on staying longer and getting a second round of drinks but ended up leaving earlier because of this. Regardless of the issues, I did enjoy my meal and would come back when it's not as warm out.

Absolutely yum! 10/10 for hospitality and drinks. The hostess was really friendly and made great recommendations. There's plenty of space to sit, perfect for WFH. I just wish they had vegetarian options for food. My favorite part was the house made syrups for drinks and I was able to request without added sugar!!!

So happy to have discovered Vang! I've been looking for a proper Vietnamese coffee and Bahn Mi in Quincy and this spot nails it. Classic bahn mi - full of crunch and flavor! The bread is fresh and light. The crispy onions and pickled veggies add even more texture. The meats are tasty. Hanoi's golden - Bitter strong coffee + rich creamy sweet egg foam = winner. Definitely the place if you want quality coffee and want something different. Definitely give it a try if you are a cold foam fan. This ambience is laid back like a cafe more so than a restaurant and features counter service. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Food came out quick. Lots of room inside to accommodate a large group. Looks like they do have wifi so you could do a little work here as well. Prices are on the higher end but the food quality is great.

Golden Peach Blossom and Salted Jasmine Tea

Vang Coffee Bar is a newly opened spot located in the heart of Quincy Center, serving up Vietnamese cuisine! I've been here a handful of times at this point and have tried their Vegan Banh Mi, Black Pepper Pan, Golden Peach Blossom, Sea Salt Foam Coffee, Ca Phe Sua Da, and the Salted Jasmine Tea. - Vegan Banh Mi: An eggplant and tofu banh mi that is so soft and packed full of filling. I really enjoyed how their bread was so soft and airy on the inside while its exterior was nice and crispy. - Black Pepper Pan: The sauce was so good; I just wish it were a little bit more flavorful. The steak was perfectly cooked, and their pate was the perfect amount of savory. The Banh Mi was a terrific pairing. - Golden Peach Blossom: A little bit on the sweeter end, but the Orange and Peach flavors really stood out and were a great complementary blend. This was a super refreshing drink! - Sea Salt Foam Coffee: I love a good sea salt foam coffee. Vietnamese coffee tends to be a little bit too strong for me, but this was perfect. The sea salt foam was really good as well. The space is quite large, so I think this would be a perfect spot to study or even host events. The owner is very friendly and the service is fantastic. Overall, I would highly recommend giving this spot a try! I do feel like they're a bit on the pricier end, but they are still in their soft opening phase, so I am sure that they are working out the kinks. The owner is very receptive to feedback as well, which is awesome, showing that they prioritize the customer experience!

The Vietnamese coffee was strong and just the right sweetness. I also had their croissant with egg which was pretty good. The other drink that's a must is the green tea with sea salt foam. Haven't had a drink I didn't like!

I was sooooo excited all day to try their bánh mì chảo after seeing all the videos on Instagram as well as the reel that the owner posted about how she relearned entrepreneurship!! However, the experience couldn't have gone any worse! We ordered 2 different types of banh mi chao, their signature dishes: - The red pan of Saigon - The black pepper pan + grilled pork for my kids and an egg coffee. We placed a separate order for the sticky rice as a to go order. Now let me walk through the things that went wrong. 1) Instead of having my sticky rice to go, they served to our table. Since nothing else came out any way, it was fine. We started munching on it! 2) They forgot to make the red pan of Saigon and the black pepper pan was the only one that came out! Now I recalled the number on the receipt didn't add up and I went asked the staff if they charged for the red pan of Saigon. She said no worries - it was on the receipt. I went back to my seat for 2 minutes and she came to me said she forgot to charge! At this point, I still had a lot of patience and told her it was fine! Charge us and go make it! I wanted another black pepper pan, not the red pan initially because my family was all hungry so I had them eat mine first. 3) I thought that was the extend of the inconvenience. However, we waited for another 30 mins and nothing came out! There were only 3 tables at the restaurants so there should be no excuse!! When I saw they tried to bring what seemed to be my dish to another table, I lost my patience and I told the staff I was still waiting for my dish and it had been a long time. At this point, she brought me exactly the dish that the other table refused! Since it had the distinct tomato sauce taste, I knew they brought me the wrong order! But whatever, I was done! I was so pissed that I forgot to take pics of their signature dishes! 4) They ran out of bread at the end and offered me a refund of the bread later In term of the taste, I agree with the other review that food is 7/10. Even the way they heated up the bread could be better! It was hot outside and cold inside the bread! My kids did not like the grilled pork. The only thing we all really liked was the sticky rice! The only other good thing was the decoration and the staff seemed to be nice! I would have given 1 star with this experience, but since they are still in their soft opening period, I understand things could go wrong (in the acceptable threshold)

Finally had an opportunity to try Vang Coffee Bar. It's definitely more than a coffee bar. This spot has yummy Viet food. My fave was the pepper sauce steak with the bread. I totally recommend that dish if you have to pick one item to try. Drinks were decent (tried Viet coffee and ice tea with cream foam). We ordered at the counter and the staff explained to us what some of dishes were. They were friendly. The bar/cafe is spacious. I would come back to try other dishes as we only ordered 3 items on our first visit.

Didn't realize shishi boba turned into Vang. I like the concept that the owner is trying to pivot to. We don't have Bo Ne in Q so that'll fill a void. May have to come try the food at some point but i do think some of the price structure is a tad high compared to other competitors in this viet food scene nearby over the neponset bridge. We grabbed two drinks in the go, mainly tea and syrup and egg coffee which both were fine but it didn't hit for us. I commend the owner and her journey, i know it's not easy to do. I wish them nothing but the best and hope they can, as a team keep bringing ideas to fruition!

For dessert, we shared a slice of avocado cheesecake! Odd but totally delicious with a cookie-like crust and ribbon of brown butter buttercream. Chef's kiss all around.
