Delicious food & drinks, great playlist. All the baristas are very welcoming. Love coming here

A very, VERY medicore breakfast sandwich. Mushy bagel, weird chorizo sausage that tastes mainly like a hot dog. So icky. Honestly should have ordered from McDonald's and I DO NOT like McDonald's. read more

I visited during the week and it was extremely busy. Seems like a popular work from home spot. They also had tons of comfortable seating with a good amount of outdoor seats. The MIT bookstore is downstairs which is nice if you want to browse the books with your coffee. I ordered the brown sugar latte and thought it was really good. I was able to taste the flavor of the syrup while also tasting the espresso. The service was friendly and my drink was made extremely fast. I recommend checking it out! read more

I can vibe with the vibes here. When you walk in, you're hit with moody tropical forest vibes, between the darker lighting and the greenery wall right when you enter. I'm here for it! A great little gathering spot near Ashmont Square. I got a hot pistachio matcha latte - it had a subtle nutty flavor without being too sweet or overpowering the earthy matcha flavor. The Spicy Dejeneur breakfast sandwich was filling and had a good kick to it. The staff were cheerful and friendly. I can see this being my go-to spot for caffeine in the area! read more

I started going to Ripple back when it first opened, and it's been beautiful to watch it grow. The owners are Black millennials--innovative, community-oriented, and intentional--and you can feel that in the space. The vibe is always evolving: whether it's the greenery, the art, or the little design touches, it stays chic while still feeling cozy. For me, Ripple is more than just a café. Whenever I feel stuck and need silent inspiration, this is where I go. There's something powerful about being in a space cultivated by Black people who are paving their own way--it leaves me walking out with more than I came in with, every time. Food-wise, I love their veggie patties, and their Haitian limeade? Top tier. Never misses. I've tried the matcha (needs sweetening for my taste), and a few smoothie-like drinks that also weren't quite sweet enough for me, so I usually keep it simple with limeades or tea. Their bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches are good--I lean toward the croissant version. I also like the grilled cheese with bacon, though sometimes the edges of the bread come out a little too tough to chew. Note worth mentioning. I also appreciate that they experiment with menu items and give customers a chance to try new things--it keeps it interesting. And while service can vary (some staff are all warmth and energy, others more stoic and straight-to-the-point), it's never been a deal breaker for me. I actually like that Ripple gives people a shot to work and grow there. The fact that they've expanded into another location makes me happy--it's proof that their vision resonates. Ripple is one of those cafés that isn't just about what's on the menu--it's about the community it reflects and the inspiration it gives. read more

Ripple Cafe is all about the vibes. The beautiful natural decor and R&B music transport you to a different world and instantly puts you in a good mood. It's an oasis among the Ashmont area and features a black women owned business. The coffee is solid here. The cappuccino was smooth and nicely balanced. The almond croissant was nice as well especially when warmed up. I didn't get a chance to work out of here but it's on the louder side so not ideal for calls. I think you are also limited to 60 min of wifi as well but if you are an Xfinity internet customer, you can use their hot spot here. read more

Really nice two young girls working on the counter making coffees and then one girl making sandwiches and stuff in the back. They were kind friendly understanding. Let us use the restroom even though it's only for employees because my husband is older. They're right on a Very Busy St., Dorchester Avenue, but there is ample parking if you have the right size vehicle Right across from the Ashmont T station for the red line walk right up is right across the street it's perfect. They have some cozy and comfortable couches and chairs window seats some dude lighting not busy like really cool comfortable atmosphere like there's lots of plans and it's really soft type of environment. It's handicapped accessible will write in no stairs no steps nothing we definitely come here again. If I'm in the area I just happen to pick this up off of yelp like a second coffee place from where I was coming from just down the street like five minutes and it's not too far off the highway I'd say like maybe at the most seven minutes with no traffic so it was kind of perfect for us for today we just want a quick cup of coffee and a treat before we head back home after doing business here in Milton. Definitely worth looking into. read more

Definitely recommend the pistachio vanilla latte here! It was really good, a bit on the sweeter side but nice balance of flavors. Didn't have to wait long for my drink either! It did seem like it was a bit of a wait for food though. read more

This review is for the Cambridge location. I ordered the jerk turkey tip bowl with djon djon (black rice) and a Haitian patty. Prior to going there I looked at the pics because I know that when food is served in a predominantly white area, it tends to be served different/ in an inauthentic way. I looked at the pics and was like ok, the rice appears to be legit. So I order the bowl and got double rice instead of the salad. I open it at home and this is what I found. Some uncle Ben's tasting white rice with green peas. Not a tint of black to it. Almost $20 for a bowl and I wasn't provided with what I ordered. I ate the turkey tips (which heads up it isn't an actual jerk taste. It is sweet with a clove and pepper taste). And I ate the Haitian patty which was actually good. Side note, I've had the coffee in Dorchester which is delicious so I'm not knocking the establishment altogether but the bowl was atrocious, the rest went in the trash. The pickliz were not at all spicy and the rice was mushy and flavorless. I called the only number provided on their site (the Dorchester location) and I left a message because they didn't have a number for the Cambridge location to provide. I was told someone would call me back and heard absolutely nothing which is disappointing. My money went to waste and I don't appreciate that no one reached out to discuss this. read more

Usually when a cafe is directly across major public transit, the atmosphere is harder to maintain (in my guesstimation due to higher traffic/ppl asking to use the restroom, etc) but this space was a pleasant surprise. I was an hour early for an appointment for the first time in my life and didnt know what to do with myself, so walked in. Side note: I do have a secret weakness for pink xmas trees. yes, its Feb. but why cant it be xmas all year round, I say. Ambiance: positive vibe cashier and sandwich-maker woman who had a bright smile. Ppl here were chill/not yappy. Though I did come in on a weekday so wkends might differ. Food: I got the Pistachio Walnut Muffin w Moroccan Mint Tea. (Love the two tea bags. The muffin was on the sweet side but thats what I get for not listening to the cashier who reced the corn muffin instead) but it was Moist, wasn't swimming in almond extract, and had nice crunchy walnut texture bits. I also love that the yelp community is intentional about supporting Black, Woman owned businesses. If I had to offer one crit, it would be to offer a few other creative bakery options. My dream would be for Clear Flour(brookline) to offer BIPOC business connections in the greater Boston region so that all stellar cafes like Ripple can offer high end, affordable, creative bakery options read more

This place has changed & I am not thinking for the better either. They have a digital display w/ their menu items, which is too bright & annoying to look at. They have this tall shelf w/ random things on it for some reason that just takes up space that could be used for tables. I was not impressed by their baked goods which they obviously don't make there since what you get is a cold, refrigerated muffin. Makes no sense to me as I was expecting a room-temperature muffin. So when I ordered it based on what I saw, I didn't realize I would have to wait for whoever was not the order taker to get it. So as much as I wanna support local, this place isn't worth it. read more

The food is absolutely pleasing to the palate, The service comes from the heart. ( The ambiance is very urban of course being in Cambridge/Dorchester. But once you step inside the establishment you'll feel right at home, with space to study and sit around with family/friends. ) read more

The breakfast sandwich was absolutely horrible they used something that looked like eggs hard texture rubbery for a place that looks so good inside terrible quality food. Recently moved into the Dorchester area, seems really local and it adds really good ambiance to the neighborhood. It has the basic menu of lattes and espresso drinks and also smoothies. Definitely a great pick me up when getting right off the Ashmont T station! read more

Bummed because it was raining and they weren't letting anyone sit inside because it was "reserved". It was a little weird to watch a few guys sit all by themselves with a bunch of empty seating around them. We went during the morning rush on a weekday. It was obvious the baristas were new, they didn't have much of a flow. In the time we were waiting, several people were confused/trying to get an order fixed. The menu is simple but solid. I got a cinnamon roll and my friend got a breakfast sandwich on a croissant. Both items were good, nothing impressive, nothing to complain about. We both got a latte, again, no complaints. The place was averagely trendy. Overall a fine place if you are in the Ashmont area, not really worth a trek to otherwise. read more

I wish I never ordered from here because I now know where all my money and calories will be going towards I've had my eye on this place for a while. I live close and work close to it and today decided to order the tuna melt for lunch and it was like the upgraded 3.0 take on a tuna sandwich. The peppers were a nice touch and I added bacon. Honestly I'm prob going to get one later in the week. My only complaint is that we can't modify items, I would like to try different items but don't eat some of the ingredients listed. read more

So I don't post often. I traveled to Boston to conduct a rehearsal . Arrived in town early and looked for a place to grab a cup of coffee! What incredibly friendly staff and such an amazing ambiance. My colleague and I met at Ripple Cafe for a work meeting. We wanted to support a Black-owned business in the neighborhood. I'm not a coffee drinker so I got a berry smoothie and a muffin. The smoothie was great, and the customer service was amazing. I live nearby, so I'll definitely be going back soon. I had already had breakfast, so I wasn't hungry, but someone recommended the hash browns and breakfast sandwich, so I'll try that next time. (The hash browns are popular and they run out often). read more

My husband and I found this place during our five day stay in Dorchester. Conveniently located just outside the T station in Ashmont, so we could grave coffee each day before hoping on the train. Service is friendly and the music is the best! Found some new music by the Carter's I love! I recommend the iced americano with cream and hazelnut. Good tasting espresso for sure. A plus, the women working there are very kind and quick. I was impressed! That's why we returned every single day we were there. Thank you for having us! read more

Went there due to vegan options. We got 2 coffees (which were very nice) 1 bacon and egg sandwich for my dairy allergic wife and a steak and cheese vegan pattie. The bacon and egg had a weird sauce that they didn't tell us would be on it and could not tell me if it had dairy. The vegan pattie was the tiniest microwaved thing shoved into a crassiant. 2/10. Edible but would never eat it again. Overall kinda disappointed in the food, coffee was good. read more

Ordered a coffee and a bacon egg and cheese one a croissant for my boyfriend and he said it was the best bacon egg and cheese he's ever had!

Such a cute cafe!! I stopped in to get breakfast, and ordered a bacon egg and cheese (with chipotle mayo!) and an iced mocha latte. Both were DELICIOUS! I've had my fair share of iced mochas in my day, and this one is up there for the best. The staff were kind and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I will definitely be back! read more

Cute picture place!! With an awesome feel!! A women ran business!! The drinks are delicious!!

I've tried it twice now because I'm really big on supporting local coffee shops, but both times has gone terrible. The first time I got a cold brew with oat milk and specifically asked for only one pump of simple syrup and it was sweeter than a blending a donut into a Dunkin' coffee. That was a waste of $6. The second time in asked for plain cold brew with oat milk and a blueberry muffin. I had to leave the cafe before getting my muffin bc it took them over 15 minutes to get this and I was going to miss my train. Another waste of $9. Unfortunately, this is the last time I give this place a chance. read more

Great coffee, pastries and super friendly service. Love the space. Just wish there was more seating.

I ordered the Greenhouse Smoothie and the Gourmet Gourmet Grilled cheese + avocado. Everything was fresh, delicious and delivered quickly. I will be returning. I've never had a grilled cheese that wasn't grilled/toasted and the cheese wasn't melted. I also received undercooked hash browns. The muffin was nothing special. I did enjoy the coffee but it was $7.59 for a medium sized iced latte, so not worth it. I won't be back read more

The drinks are delicious. The new Haitian Pattie's are a good size with a flakey crust and a truly yummy filling.

I LOVE this cafe. The coffee is delicious and all of the food offers are SUPERB! I just had a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant this morning and a hazelnut latte. First time having a breakfast sandwich and I was NOT disappointed. I wanted to write a review to support a local black-owned business. There are really good vibes inside the cafe. I would DEFINITELY recommend going and sitting down in the ambiance post-COVID. Everyone is nice, the owner is committed to quality, and every drink I order really perks me up. I HIGHLY recommend. I am a teacher and I am never inside for more than a couple minutes when I stop on my way to work. I do not go anywhere else in the morning because I don't want to be disappointed.
