After initial emails and a call with Carlos, we set up a meeting to review our needs at our house. Throughout the entire process, Carlos was prompt in replying and always very helpful and gave us great customer service. When his team arrived to complete the install, the work was also completed professionally. The team of three wore masks and shoe covers when inside the house. They were very courteous and explained everything they were doing prior to doing the work. I was really impressed by the job from start to finish. I'd recommend Carlos and Security Doctors.

I sent out a free estimate request via Yelp and received far too many responses…read more My primary, evidently probable Yelp Elite and Yelp All-Star review are based on Yelp and my communication with the owner Shay. Perhaps he is of Irish heritage, I never had the opportunity to find out 1) I have seen over 300 photographs of his work This man is the very BEST if you are only looking for a handyman or have no assistance from even an essentially useless husband in the paint or a long hair clogged shower drain 2) Shay is a LIAR I appreciate that he was willing to drive out to The suburbs of Chicago from all the way East in Logan Square His estimate is NOT free as Yelp guaranteed He requires photographs (easy peasy) of the locks as well as *$45* to even come out to take a look He broke the Yelp Guarantee right there Chicago Locksmiths should be banned from Yelp same as nobody should have voted for Trump. There were zero good choices but at least ond was NOT a babbling dementia suffering 90 yeat old 3) Shay claims the his primary concern is home and auto safety If that were actually true then with photos in hand he has zero reason to have a $45 fee to take a look I have zero reason to take issue with Shay - especially his quality of work All that I know is that Shay LIED to Yelp in order to gain business and if that works for him, then I do not give a fxck I shall not be used I have Elite and All-Star status that I EARNED with Yelp and followers Every single one of my Yelp reviews are shared with Google I sincerely hope that my review discourages anybody and everybody from hiring Chicago Locksmiths

They made new keys for each unit so one key could be used for both the front and back doors, which made things much simpler. They also created two separate versions of common area keys for the front and rear buildings, while making sure both worked for the shared laundry room. They were also helpful in pointing out old cylinders and handles that needed to be replaced. Everything was handled smoothly, professionally, and for a great price. I'd definitely recommend them.

Last summer, we had a break-in at our condo entrance, and found a need for a Full Length Interlocking Door Guard. (Highly recommended as burglars love to shimmy a screwdriver between your door and lock & open into your place easier than a SPAM can.) Pro Video Security let us select the guard. They gave a great bid to put install. We even chose to do 2 doors, given their great rate. Flash forward to 6 months later we found a small (but significant) installation error on one of the doors. Rather than haggle and hassle, they came right out and fixed it at ZERO extra cost. (As expected.) On top of that: The fix came right on time. We caught this picture of a rather infamous trio (USPS is after them) trying to break in and being foiled by the door guard. SEE PIC.

I wanted to be able to keep a watch on the dogs and also of course on my house in general. If anything goes wrong, he is right there ready to help me fix it and get it up and running again. I could probably find someone locally, but there is no way I would ever find such great, friendly, knowledgeable customer service. So wherever you are in the world, these guys are the best! One night it doesn't work at all and it takes 45 minutes of trying to get into my car. Also, at this point I notice that the poorly-copied blade doesn't open the physical lock on the door! When I call Chicago Locksmiths about this, the technician says it's Honda's fault with the door and that the car key battery is probably dying. He was surprised when I told him that the old blade worked with the car door. So the following must be true 1) They made me a fob that only had 3 months of battery life or something is wrong with the transponder in the fob they programmed. 2) New blade was not properly cut. Update: They offered me a partial refund, cut the key into better shape, and reprogrammed a new fob. All done very quickly and conveniently. Came to my house to do it.
