    miso ramen
    Nelson L.

Get the miso ramen it's soooo good. The ramen came out quick and it was super delicious. the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the service was super great they split up the check for us no problem. I will definetly be back.

    Miso ramen. Large size.

Food was great. Miso ramen was made with a delicious chicken and miso broth. Unfortunately the menu photo included slices of meat, but there was no meat in the bowl, just half an egg. But, this was still very good. Fried chicken thigh bites/karaage was very good- perfect tempura with a savory sauce. Service was great. Restaurant was clean.

The ramen here is amazing! I love the miso ramen and my boyfriend likes the tonkatsu ramen. The spring rolls and gyoza are also yummy. The service is great, Jessica is a great server who seems to run most if not all of the tables every time I've been there. The place is clean and cozy, definitely a staple ramen spot in this area!

I just went through thinking that good Japanese style ramen cannot be easily made in the US, (see my Portland Afuri review), then I came across this little place. We were traveling and we were looking for some place to eat. The nearest place with high marks was Asa Ramen. Well, I am always in for ramen, but always not expecting much. This little tiny shop was nothing to look at so I went in not expecting much. Inside, most of the workers all looked to be college type students - working their first jobs. They had a tonkotsu ramen which everyone ordered. Believe me, I was not expecting much. When I asked for the bamboo shoots (menma), they had no idea what it was and I heard them keep talking and asking about what it was. When we got the bowl, it looked pretty good! Everyone was enjoying it and I have to admit the broth was among the best I have tasted in the US. It was smooth and rich and had great flavor! When I ate some noodles, which were cooked perfectly, I felt the noodles were maybe a bit thick or that they were not "grabbing" onto the broth as well as they could have. Another issue was that the egg was slightly overcooked, however, upon tasting it, it was very good. I'm going to say that while the workers may not have known that much about ramen, whoever is in the kitchen is very knowledgeable and has managed to produce one of the best tonkotsu ramen broth I have tasted in the US and makes me think that a really good bowl of ramen CAN exist here. The broth itself was better than pretty much every place I have tasted in Hawaii. Really good! With an adjustment to the noodles and a minor tweak on the egg, this is a superior ramen. Oh, did I mention that they char the chashu using a blowtorch before serving? It adds to the flavor and adding a little chili oil to this ramen took it up a notch too!

It was my friend's birthday dinner, and it was just the two of us. The restaurant was full and steamy on this cold winter night. We were quickly seated at the bar and were given waters and ordered shortly there after. To view the menu you need to scan a QR code. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and the Tayoyaki and my friend ordered some Chashu Buns and Gyoza to share. Tayoyaki was better than the stuff I had previous, it was very crisp on the outside but the right amount of chewy smooshy goodness on the inside. The Gyoza was crispy had a nice texture. But the real star of the show was the Chashu Buns very pillowy, and the sauce was excellent and the meat at the perfect ratio of fat to meat. When our Ramen arrived, I was glad I ordered a half bowl because I was already full from our appetizers. It was just as I remembered, I'm not a connoisseur of Ramen but it seemed fine. A word to the wise and the reason I gave the restaurant 3 stars was that their restrooms are not in good shape. The family bathroom I was in, the toilet paper holder was only connected to the wall on one side, causing the paper to lay on the floor. Gross. The state of cleanliness was not great either.

Asa Ramen really is one of our hidden gems in Utah County. I still have yet to find a ramen that is better in our valley. And it's still reasonably priced! I also appreciate that they have full size and half size options. The half size is plenty enough for me. Especially since I want some of their appetizers are well because their appetizers are delicious. Their gyoza are some of the best around. Shrimp tempura is lightly battered and crisp. Service has always been very helpful and upbeat. So glad we have Asa here!

You're not sad... you just haven't had your Asa Ramen yet! My favorite ramen joint in Utah!

Fresh. Delicious broth. Delicious mochi. Small, but a might place! Knowledgeable and friendly staff. You can't go wrong!

Delicious broth! Fresh food! Yummy mochi! Knowledgable and friendly staff. A small, but mighty place! You can't go wrong with them! We took some ramen home and their pork belly sandwich & my husband was floored by how good it was! We will return!

I had the tonkatsu/shoyu mix. This is some of the best ramen I have had in the area, I went home and dreamt about this ramen. I write this review 3 days after I ate it because I am still thinking about it. That is how good this ramen was

Ask the Community - Asa Ramen

Do they have gluten free noodles?

We don't have gluten free noodles, however you can swap the noodles for rice. We also have one gluten free broth (Tonkotsu/Pork Bone Broth) but there can be cross contamination with soy products, so I'd keep that in mind if you're deathly allergic.

    Do they have vegetarian ramen?

You can order the miso ramen with hot water and no pork. It still has a great flavor and creamy consistency. There are also lots of veggie and egg add on your can get if you want to replace the pork.

Any vegan ramen options? *edit: No. All of their noodles contain egg.

Their vegan option is miso with hot water instead of chicken broth all the normal veggies( bamboo, green onion and mushroom) with rice instead of noodles. You can also add from their extras list nori, corn, garlic and more. They also have vegan… Read more
