We got two lattes--just normal lattes--to accompany us on a walk around the Arboretum. For the price I was really hoping I would be wowed, but it tasted like burnt drip coffee and milk. It was difficult to drink and neither of us finished our drinks. This spot might be more of a cozy eatery (there was indoor and outdoor seating) but everyone we saw eating also had coffee so we figured it was worth a try. Nada. Seemed like just meat and shredded cheese on a ciabatta roll with a side of a creamy sauce, so a little simple, though I'll admit that the meat and bread were pretty good. I tried their iced Signature Mocha and loved it ! I wanted coffee and not a dessert (are you listening Starbucks??) and that is what I got. You can actually taste the coffee in there and I loved the strong flavor and the just the right amount of sweetness. I didn't care for how hot it was in there but they did have a fan running. The best place for cheap but delicious brunch! I came by with a friend the other day, and the first thing I loved was that there was ample parking. It's a small, casual spot, so you order at the counter and they'll bring it to you. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - probably some of the best customer service I have had here in Seattle! I decided to get a waffle with Nutella (strawberries in the picture are from my friend) and a Spinach and Feta Danish. Don't be fooled by the size - the waffle was surprisingly filling! It was soft and just a little chewy, and the sweetness of Nutella made the whole thing sing. I walked over this morning bright and early to get a coffee. Yes, I walked over 2 miles at 6 AM for coffee - it must be a Seattle thing. I got there right at 6:30 AM and met the owner at the door. He rushed right in, jumped behind the counter, and smiled. We had a pleasant exchange; this gentleman was seriously lovely. 10/10 customer service! Then he handed me my mocha about 30 seconds later (and that is not an exaggeration). The real star of the show is the specialty mocha. It was TASTY, folks. This is such a hidden gem!!!! I was doing a morning jog in the area and decided to give this place a try. Looking through the menu and Yelp reviews, I wanted to try their liege waffles. So I ordered the liege waffle with turkey and ham. I thought it was going to be like an open face sandwich, but what they did was cut the waffle in half and add the turkey and ham in between and grill/press them, almost like a panini. I really like the taste as you get the sweetness from the waffle and the savory from the meat. When you do a Yelp check in, you get a free cookie, so I thought it would be one free cookie, but it turns out to be a bag of 4 delicious chocolate chip cookie! That was awesome! Service was also really good. The guy was so sociable and loving his job and makes it feel really comfortable talking to him and start a conversation. Really nice family run cafe! Convenient place to go if you're in the Arboretum area. They use Fonté beans , and their espresso is richly chocolatey. Their egg and cheese ciabatta sandwich is quality too -- not too salty like a lot of other places. The barista is really friendly, and he was happy to tell me about the beans they were using. He was nice enough to give a complimentary hot chocolate sample too! Also got a fat amount of free cookies using the Yelp check in :). Had to double check with them because I was shocked haha. The interior is homely and slightly cluttered. They have an entire wall full of pictures with their customers. Also, there's not too much seating for l groups larger than 3-4 people. read more

Lovely little cafe! Met with friends for a cafecito and walk in the Japanese Gardens. I got their mocha and a Nutella +Strawberry waffle with whip cream per their suggestion. It was super good!! They're not massive circular waffles like you might get at a diner served on a dinner plate, they're smaller square ones and they're crispy outside, fluffy and sweet inside, served on small plates. Similarly, I saw the other items the girls ordered and they do look on the smaller side. I think the focus here is more on serving high quality quickly than on giving you a big honkin thing. The food and drink were out pretty quick, there wasn't a line when we ordered, but it did get busy after we were seated. You may note the espresso machine is very loud and this is a small shop with limited seating, so it might not be the best option for a large group or a long visit, but for our purposes it was just what we needed! I'll for sure bring the fam next time, my mom loves waffles and I don't think she's had them like this before.
