Stopped by in the morning. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the front with the staff member. I got an iced Americano that was really good. Staff were super pleasant and friendly. Very beautiful interior atmosphere. Need to come back and try some of the breakfast food. Highly recommend.

Another Instagram hyped spot. I went on a Tuesday around 2 PM, and it was extremely crowded. Luckily, there was just one table available. The place gets very noisy, which made it hard to relax. I ordered a latte it was meh, nothing special that would make me want to come back. With all the noise, I couldn't enjoy my coffee in peace. Honestly, the ambience looked much better on Instagram than it did in person, in my opinion.

Great coffee and a nice space, but the timed internet is ridiculous. Being kicked off after 1.5 hours makes it hard to work here, so I won't be coming back. The café itself is good, but the Wi‑Fi policy ruins the experience for anyone trying to stay and get work done.

The building is beautiful inside. The architecture and decor is really lovely inside this historic building. The service was also very kind and patient. They don't have a lot of food on their menu or bakery case, which is maybe the only downside for me. The drinks were lovely though and it looks like a fantastic space to plop down and read or work, especially if you can snag a window seat or one of the comfy armchairs. I believe they're dog friendly in summer when they have patio chairs but there weren't any out and available during winter when we were there today, so we took ours to go.

Their cortado was wonderful and the cafe has such a beautiful scenery. Definitely would recommend to bring someone here, or if you want a cool place to study!

Very beautiful interior. I ordered a cup of tea and had a very peaceful, rainy afternoon reading my book.

Spectacular interior and charming service. I ordered the cafe latte with no syrup and it tasted great. The body was creamy and smooth with low to zero acidity and great coffee, nutty after taste. Once I entered I felt as if I was transformed into another place in Spain. The decor and architecture of this place is amazing. They really spent a lot of focus the details and thought put into the design. It would a more complete experience if they played some more fitting music other than the mainstream pop and rock songs though.

I loved this beautiful and cozy sitting area.

First impressions walking into the establishment, is that I'm loving the decor. The place is housed on the ground floor of an historic building. The interior is beautiful with beautiful columns, and gorgeous furniture, and filled with local patrons. The not so great about the establishment, is it did not feel very welcoming by the staff member behind the counter. We came to order 3 coffees to go but we found a vacant area to set for a spell. Our person who took our order kinda gave the vibe that we were a burden upon him. There was no energy in the interaction, nor did I feel he cared that we were looking forward to trying a new place. I had a cold brew with half an half, TBH it was less than meh. The coffee tasted less than fresh and lacked the punch of a good coffee. Again, it's a beautiful shop on the interior, but I'd take a hard pass on buying coffee there again.

Great music, great coffee, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The space is super cozy, I felt so relaxed I could've easily taken a nap on the green sofa. The cafe features high ceilings and east-facing windows that let in plenty of natural sunlight. The design is beautiful and there's a generous amount of seating. One thing to note: it can get a bit warm and humid inside, likely due to limited ventilation. I'm guessing that's why the front door is often left open.

Cafe Mocha and a blueberry scone
    Mikah M.

The food was great! I got a caffe mocha and ordered it extra sweet. If you have a sweet tooth make sure to do so because here the coffee really shines through and is bitter. I also got a blueberry scone and it was delicious! The staff were super accommodating of my wheelchair. This was also just a really pretty cafe. Downsides: the front door is very narrow with a bump and I needed help getting through. The front counter is also not at a good height for wheelchair users or anyone short. There are not any shorter bar counters for wheelchair users.

I accidentally stumbled upon The Piedmont Café in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle one recent Sunday morning and what a wonderful surprise! I was drawn by the beautiful tile work on the exterior of the building and wanted to see more of it. As soon as I walked inside and saw the grand ceiling and Spanish architecture, I was immediately transported back to my travels in Barcelona, Spain. I decided to order a light snack (Sausage Roll) and beverage (a hot Dirty Chai) and I was lucky enough to snag a table. What a cool place to hang out and people watch. The snack and drink I ordered were satisfying and the service was great-- the staff even delivered my order to my table. I wish I could have stayed longer. I thought, "What a treasure this place is. I need to come back here soon and bring a book."

I visited piedmont cafe on a sunday to study with a friend! There's a decent amount of seating which accommodated the steady stream of customers. Interior-wise we thought the space was stunning, and gave very european vibes! It's definitely a charming place to study or read. I ordered a 16oz iced matcha latte ($7) which was just okay. I tasted the vanilla(?) milk a lot while the matcha taste wasn't very strong. With that said, my friend's chai latte was really good! One thing that's noteworthy is that there is free wifi, but it constantly kicked me off. I could always reconnect but it was just a bit annoying. I know the cafe has either a 1.5 or 2 hr guest limit (most likely enforced when it's busy) so maybe that's why. Overall I'd come back, and i'm happy there's another cute cafe in the first hill area!

I…read morereally paid around $25 for two drinks, but they were tasty so I'm bouncing back and forth here. Most people have claimed this is the best matcha spot and it's easily up there among the top. Visited on a Friday morning just before rush hour. Lots of people were already seated working and a ton started lining up after us. Honestly surprised the wait hasn't died down more. Not sure what the cup sizes are, but there is a small and large. I'd guess small around 12oz and large around 16oz, but unsure because they like to use the shorter, stubbier cups. Price is steep. Oat milk still costs extra and is not priced in. Sweetness can't be lowered. Most matcha drinks have set sizes and no flexibility. Those are some of the main downsides. Beyond that, everything such as ambiance, coziness, third space vibes, and quality are upsides. Banana Pudding Matcha Latte - this drink is so good. Matcha super smooth, complementing the banana pudding with a soft texture. Matcha is a bit on the sweeter side and cannot be unsweetened, but caters to the general majority. Banana flavor elevates that sugar a bit more but not overly so. Definitely more of a dessert but also a hefty $11 price point. Strawberry Matcha Latte - while the matcha is again smooth, whisked well, and umami, the strawberry jam is nothing special. I personally see strawberry matcha as the older, safe choice for those who disliked the bitter or grassy tones of matcha. Similar idea here, which I think detracts from the quality of the matcha here. Would skip this for any of the other drinks.

We were finally in the area to try Phe out and once we got there we were not greeted by the staff but with a long line. This only meant the drinks are really good right? Once it was our time to order, the lady behind the register had the most bothered face on her. I understand, dealing with a "rush" of paying customers, it can get overwhelming, but it shouldn't be taken out on others. Anyways, we tried very hard to be nice to the worker and we asked questions about the matcha to get an idea on which to order but her attitude was completely disrespectful. I don't think this worker wanted to answer any of our questions or even help us at all. She laughed and with an attitude said "ha what?" when my friend asked about the matcha quality and notes that can be expected. Again, I understand working in customer service can get overwhelming sometimes, especially on a Friday morning but this experience just made us very uncomfortable and not welcoming in the slightest. It also makes it difficult to justify a $12 matcha when the staff is horrible (receipt in picture). The drink itself was good and the presentation was great but I'm sure you can find the same elsewhere in the city with much better customer service.
