Separate areas for bar and table seating.. it was great to be able to watch World Series at the table! The food is cheap in every way except price! Lots of pretzel dough wraps many of the items, the rest are fried to oblivion. The burger was small the bun was large! I don't think I will be back. Awesome atmosphere! We had the mozzarella sticks, the cranberry walnut salad when the vegan chicken and the buffalo mac and cheese. The max and cheese was a little spicy but it was all good. It is very loud so if you don't like that sort of thing, this place isn't for you. We were there around midnight on. Saturday and the place was super busy. I'm a patchogue resident and have lived here my whole life. My boyfriend and I were so excited when we heard aroogas was opening because there's only one other sports bar in town and it's pretty small. This place is awful though. Yeah they have a lot of tvs and a big bar but it's nothing more than a glorified applebees with HORRIBLE service. The food is alright, and they have a lot of gluten free options which we like so we've given it multiple chances. But every time we come here, without fail, someone is rude to us and the service is just horrible. There have been multiple times where we have been the only ones at the bar and the bartender has completely ignored us. Once the bartender actually came out from behind the bar, sat at the bar, started watching tv and left us there for like 20-30 minutes. Every time we go there it's something different. And everyone who works there has such an attitude - most of the employees are young lazy kids who could care less about customer service or if they get fired. I won't be coming back here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone - there are too many other amazing places in patchogue to eat with so much better service where they actually care about the customers. read more

Bar gets 4 stars. Lots of different beer on tap and always a TV in close proximity. The food is mediocre. Too long of a wait (40 min) to be seated at the restaurant when plenty of tables were open. Just opened so I'm hopeful they'll work the kinks out. read more

The wings are amazing!!!! Cool spot and I'm not just saying because I got the free wings for a year. I bring my whole family to eat and have a good time. My favorite server is Gabby. On November 12, I went to Arooga's with a group of friends. We went there because I have celiac's disease and they seemed to have a rather large gluten-free selection. I ordered the turkey wrap. The waiter asked me if I wanted a whole wheat tortilla or a white flour tortilla. When I questioned him about a gluten-free tortilla, I was told they didn't have them. I told him to put it on a gluten-free bun. I proceeded to eat the sandwich (at this point, it was no longer a wrap). On my way home, I started to feel sick. I knew immediately what had happened. The bun was not gluten-free. As of this writing, I am still sick. As a side note, one of my friends had ordered the chicken fingers, and they were undercooked. I guess the lesson to be learned here is that if you are celiac, have a gluten intolerance, are on a gluten-free diet (or just like food that is cooked properly), this not the restaurant for you. No matter what the menu says. This place could put your health in serious jeopardy. read more

several friends and myself went last saturday to patchogue's chili and chowder tasting fest. for an additional price you could purchase pumpkin beer tasting tickets. it consisted of a 2oz plastic cup and tickets. we were very disappointed when we showed up here and they decided not to participate in the pumpkin beer tasting despite having over 40 taps. read more

First time here and everything was great. Pamela, our server, was very knowledgeable. She was patient with the first timers trying to figure out what they wanted to order out of the many items on the menu. Decided to check it out last night during alive after 5, place was packed which is typical during these events. We got a table for the four of us . Place is huge ! The separation from the bar is a great idea , it was like 2 separate places . The staff was great , everyone smiling and very attentive. Wanted to take my boyfriend for a nice late bday dinner so we go to Aroogas, id never been but he has and always had a good time at the place. We didnt know a major WWE event was going on so on 30 loud ass tvs was wresting, which is fine and all and even tho we don't like wrestling we just made fun of it. What was the issue is our server disregarding us and waiting an absurd amount of time for our check. I ended up having to go to the hostess after 15+ minutes wait for our check in order to get it, I understood it was busy BUT the reason why we had to wait so long was because our server was sitting at table right behind us bullshitting with other coworkers watching WWE, knowing we were done and clarified that. You can enjoy your job and watch WWE while giving decent service. Best part is watched our server pick a nice deep wedgie right before giving us our food . No complaints on the food, but expected a bit better service. read more

I never bash restaurants but I really had to write this review since your restaurant I found was severely lacking,I ordered the Bratwurst and paid and extra 2 dollars for the Tater tots also ordered the fried pickles and pretzel bacon cheese dog, my freind ordered a medium rare burger. When the food arrived, the pretzel dogs were sporting a good amount of raw dough,my friends med/rare burger was well done, the bratwurst was obviously cooked off either the day before or that morning and was way beyond it servability and dried out, the stone ground mustard looked as if it has been sitting under a heat lamp, the tater tots were sitting under a heat lamp also for what I would estimate was an hour longer than they should have been and they were soggy and tasteless my second order of the pretzel dogs came out with............wait for it............ raw dough again I sent the brat back and didn't want a second order since it was already too long a wait I asked for my check with a hundred dollar bill in my hand so I could pay and leave but was made to wait while my server chatted with the next table and was only approached by the manager after I stood up to go pay at the bar I do have to say we were offered a free dessert for our trouble but declined since it would probaly have been just as awful as the previous meal we were aslo given card with a 10% discount off out appetizers on our next visit, they were left on the table as I will not entertain eating here again, there are many restaurants in Patchogue to choose from and this establisment has been crossed off my list of places to visit, I feel they should invest more into training their culinary staff than boasting about 105 televisions read more

I was a regular after moving to New Village apartments last year. It was a great place to go to, then they got really busy and decided to get these bouncers who think they are the owners of the place. They are rude, nasty and quite honestly not so intelligent. My son had an empty growler which they sell at Aroogas, and was entering the bar to have it filled and one of the nasty bouncers told him to leave and asked him now why would you bring an empty glass bottle to a bar....lol really, the growler had Aroogas written across the front. The food is not the greatest and they honestly get your order wrong almost every time. The beer selection is not the greatest either, there are much better bars along main street that have a better selection. They have a new rule now, no flip flops or tank tops, and it only applies to the men, I know this because my son got told to leave mid drink because he was wearing a tank top, a top he has worn many times there....so in my opinion, Id find another hang out, this bar is not what it used to be! We won't ever be going back and will tell all our friends not to go too! I wouldn't even give it one start!!!! read more

The atmosphere is great, the drinks are ok, however the food is def. not what I expected. I ordered the much hyped crab dip which was a giant clump of cheese on top of crabby tasting dip which had absolutely no crab in it or if it did you needed a microscope to find it. I ate some of the cheese off the top and that was pretty much it. For dinner I ordered the grilled chicken salad (which by the way it was worded sounded like a whole chicken breast was going to be on the salad) I asked for no cheddar cheese just mozzarella and add avocado. It came with no cheese at all, 4 small strips of chicken and a mound of lettuce for $12. I ate the 4 small chicken strips on it and left the rest. The waiter never asked about my appetizer seeing that I ate none of it and didn't want it boxed up to take home. He did however ask if I liked my salad, I said no he apologized and took it away. Check came and nothing was comped. I didn't think they would do both the app and the salad but one or the other would have been the right thing to do. A reputable restaurant cares about their patrons experience. I don't make a fuss at the restaurant over stuff like this I don't find it necessary but I will not recommend nor eat there again. I did go once before and got the cheese steak, thought it was alright, nothing to write home about but thought I would give it another chance anyway, wrong choice. This was a great sports bar until they treated my son like a piece of crap! We moved to New Village last year and were regular customers, my son has been harassed by one of the older bouncers for wearing a tank top, and another night for bringing in a growler to be refilled. The bouncer asked my son who was holding an empty growler " Where do you think you are going with that?" My son politely replied " you sell these here I'm getting it refilled" and the bouncer actually didn't believe him, made him feel like a jackass and made him wait at the door for 5 minutes while he went to go ask the manager. Just last night my son was told he needed to leave as he was at the bar ordering food because he was wearing a tank top. He has worn the tank top many times prior and never once was he told to leave, but this same bouncer threw him out! My son asked the bartender what is going on and she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. We used to eat here regularly, but after the way they treated my son who is a Veteran, we will never go back and we will make sure all our friends know about the crappy way he was treated! Just left Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar Patchogue NY for Mothers Day brunch and our experience there was absolutely terrible. Terrible!!!!!I am not one to complain and pick everything apart, my family is friendly and by no means snobby food critics and I understand today is a holiday but I am not sure one thing was right from the start. I made a reservation earlier this week for 8 adults for the first sitting and we were brought to a small booth that they still had to wipe down and couldn't possibly fit 8 adults. After they finally found a table even though the place was empty we sat with no brunch menus and waited for our simple drink order of coffees. Earlier this week I asked for a brunch menu that the manager did email me to which I greatly appreciated however we found that what was sent to me wasn't the same as the actual menu. After we finally received drinks we all put in our orders. We were first to sit down and received our food after the couple of tables that were there (again still not busy). The food was brought out maybe two plates at a time so that all the food was cold. The French toasts were dry and burnt, the waffles and pancakes were very bland the tater tot nachos were wrong and the loaded tots were just tots. My steak omelette was the first to be brought out so by the time 7 other plates came out it was ice cold. I wish I wasn't a polite person that waited for everyone else to start eating because when i finally cut into my eggs it was completely wrong. I had to wait for a server to come see us to tell them and then wait more time for the eggs to come out. My original order was a Philly cheese steak omelette The actual eggs were watery and tasteless , you couldn't taste steak with all the red pepper flakes and the caramelized onions weren't there. Again we were the first ones there and maybe by the end of our experience there it was starting to get busy. Wait staff and maybe a manager did come over and apologize so our terrible experience was acknowledged. If a restaurant advertises brunch starting at 10 on the weekends staff should not be showing up at ten and just wiping off tables. They advertised a free meal for mom but only one per table. So to compensate for everything they were so generous and split our bill into two so we got two free meals really? I feel that we really shouldn't have had to pay for much if any of it. I am totally let down and upset that a thoughtful Mother's Day brunch was completely ruined by terrible service. read more

We went to the bar that was packed and waited to be recognized by a bartender which never happened. The bar is huge and not nearly enough bartenders. They only seem to notice you if you are sitting down. After about an hour I checked on the status of our table and they said another fifteen. Twenty minutes later we went back and they said they had texted us a while ago. However, we didn't receive a text until ten minutes before we left. The food was dry and just below Friday's quality. Wing sauce was okay but nothing great. The beer selection is good but I don't even think my drink had liquor in it and when I got something different in a smaller glass it was exactly the same. All mix no liquor. They seem to advertise "real sour mix" and are proud of it, well they should use less. Won't be going back. read more

Sooo my boyfriend and I live in Patchogue and we frequent many places in the village ALOT obviously based on location and convenience. When I saw this place advertised on Facebook I knew we had to try it. Wings looked amazing along with any and everything else that they advertised. So yesterday we gave it a shot....20/30 wait and it was not even that busy (this was around 2). Sat at the bar for a drink waited.. then waited to close out once we were seated - not enough staff behind the bar that was our immediate impression. We were seated and greeted by a friendly enough waitress but the service was slowwww.. drinks took forever, food was just okay.. had a "blackened chicken salad" that I had to add chicken on and as the waitress put it "the menu is misleading" like wah?? Wings were dry and rubbery...not what I had expected. The only thing that was excellent was the buffalo chicken pretzel.May or may not give this place another try, get it together or you'll never make it with the competition high. read more
