I needed an updated outlet for an electric range for my home and Tony Wilburn came out to do an assessment and estimate. I would highly recommend. He was on time, professional, and efficient. It's a small thing but I also really appreciate how he had shoe covers on. The overall process took about 90 minutes for a 2 flat apartment (2 units). I appreciate Tony's transparency, ability to explain what's going on, and friendly attitude. They also gave a few options based on my priority of things to get done. It didn't feel like he was trying to gouge me or upsell problems, which I appreciate. I also like how Arnold's is overall pretty tech friendly in terms of communication and scheduling. I had trouble trying to figure out how to reschedule and needed to call, but not too bad. They had an AI scheduler/customer service that was honestly a bit hard to work with for rescheduling but pretty cool to see it implemented. I had to call a few times to speak with a person to reschedule/cancel an appointment time. read more

I received an estimate from the Arnold technician saying that swapping out eight switches could take most of the work day and the cost would be $1447. Not being an electrician I had no idea how long it would take. It took less than 90 minutes. The company refused to charge me anything less than $1447 which works out to more than $900 an hour. read more

I had them come over to my condo in Downtown Chicago to "diagnose" a problem with a circuit breaker tripping. A few weeks prior, I had a microwave installed. The installer drilled a hole into the wall, damaging the wire, so I already knew what the problem was. I explained this to the Arnold Electrical technician who came to assess the situation. They charged me $149 for the assessment, which was refundable if I proceeded with their service. The problem was that he gave me a quote of $1,672 to rewire between two switches, which I found ridiculously expensive. I paid the $149 assessment fee, and he left. I found another company that fixed the issue for me the next day for $300. Cut the story short: Arnold Electrical Services are fraudsters... P.S. I left a Google review for them, and they responded a couple of days later saying that customer satisfaction is very important and that I could email them with my concern. I did, but I haven't received any response, and it's been several days now. read more

Called for service on overloaded lines and possible breaker issues. They quoted me $1200 to assess issue plus another $4000 for any work. I almost started having convulsions. Finally got ahold of my old electrician found the problem was 2 hot lines on one outlet and neutral line burnt off which was overloading the other lines on that breaker. The repair was $200 not $5200. I would never trust these guys they wanted $1200 just to even assess the issue. I'm kinda shocked the yelp reviews were good but not to get scammed $5000. I recently had a sump pump placed in my crawl space, but had no electrical outlets in the space that this could be plugged into. I was recommended to use Arnold Electrical Services by the company that did the sump pump installation. After contacting them, I had a service rep named Robert Aguilar come out and go over a full inspection, coming up with a plan for the installation, as well a few minor code issues that he could repair. The appointment was scheduled right there. When Robert came back out, he performed exactly what was expected, and did so in a timely fashion. There was a billing issue that I did not catch right away, but upon calling the office, this was immediately fixed with no hassle. We have used Arnold Electric on two occasions. Both times they were excellent. On August 9 2024 Jon, Nick, and Carlos came out to our house. They came to install new can lights in our 1st floor living room. After introducing themselves the explained the work they were there to perform. Since there was no attic access they informed us that they would need to make cuts in the ceiling to run the electrical wiring for the can lights. Before they started they took precautions to protect the floor and furniture. They asked our input on the placement of the can lights and got to work. The can lights look fantastic !! They change the whole "feel" of the room. The repair of the ceiling cuts is our responsibility but well worth it, they gave us a list of contractors to get estimates for the repair. After they finished the installation they cleaned up so you couldn't tell they were even there. We were so pleased with the lights that we had them come out again on August 20 and 21st to install the can lights in our dining room, kitchen , and 2nd floor hallway (Attic access, no additional holes to run wire) This time Jeff, Sam, Carlos and Alex came out. While Jeff rewired the parts that had the old cloth wires, Sam, Carlos, and Alex worked on the can lights. As before they protected the work area and sought our input on can light placement. As before they needed to make holes in the 1st floor rooms to run wiring. The lights are great. When the ceiling are repaired we are having the rooms repainted. They really bring value to the house. We should have done this sooner. The cost was reasonable and the work excellent. We are planning future projects for the house and will use Arnold electric again. Highly recommended. read more
