I made an appointment with this company and they were booked a month out, which is fine. After waiting a month for my appointment, I was a bit surprised that I never received an appointment reminder text message or phone call. I called the day before to confirm my appointment the next day (2pm). On the day of my appointment, several minutes after 2pm, no one arrived or called. I called the company and asked if the electrician was running late (which is perfectly understandable, but I just wanted to know because I planned my day for the 2pm appointment. The receptionist said she would reach out to the electrician and would call me back. She called me back and told me the electrician is running late, and that my new time is now between 330-4. I told her this new time is difficult for me and she said that I could cancel, but that I would not get into the schedule until next month (you would think due to the inconvenience they would fit me in sooner since the delay was no fault of my own. I also wonder if anyone would have called me to tell me the electrician would be there an hour and a half to two hours late had I not called. I told her not to cancel and I can be home closer to 4. I then left to run errands and at 3 I received a phone call from the electrician telling me he can be there in 15 minutes (about 3:15). I asked if he can make it closer to 4 and he said no, and offered to cancel the appointment. I told him I will race home and will meet him there in 15 minutes. He did not have my address and asked that I text it to him which I found odd. I kinda felt like I was inconveniencing them. The electrician was very nice and very helpful. He was very kind and personable, and I forgot his name but he seemed knowledgeable and had a very pleasant demeanor. The price seemed fair for the work although this was the first company I called so I don't have much to compare it to. I think this company can improve by providing an appointment reminder and a time window instead of a set time, and maybe some better customer service. I wouldn't write them off however and would recommend them with caution. It seems like a mom and pop shop which would probably explain some of this. read more

Victor came with his beautiful family for a visit as we just moved into a new house. The lights from the ceiling fan in the family room were not working and it didn't take Victor any time to get up the ladder and see what's going on. He mentioned that something needed to be replaced and we didn't want him to use time from his visit to fix our lights. Given the selfless person he is, he insisted we drive to the nearest Lowe's or Home Depot to get the part needed. I used Corb on a large-ish project where I installed outlets, changed out light fixtures, prepared sockets for appliances, and requires some phantom light switches to thhings that actually worked! Some of this required visits to my unfinished basement to go up the rough the wall, some were more straightforward tasks. This is the second time using Corb Electric & Victor. the 1st time was 20 years ago. This time we were looking to install a 220v line for a garage EV charger and decided to add a number of other items as long as we were doing the 220v outlet. In addition to the EV charger line, Corb converted a Laundry Room fluorescent fixture to LED, changed out a Kitchen ceiling fixture, replaced fluorescent under-cabinet lights to new LED's, switched out two kitchen outlets, relocated a basement outlet to another wall, added another furnace room outlet, and replaced the Master Bath exhaust fan to one that's quieter and pushes more CFM's. I've used Corb twice now, once to connect my hard-wired pool heater/heat pump (which required upgrading from a 30 amp to 60 amp circuit) and once to fix a problem with all my appliances being on the same circuit and overloading the circuit. I'm so glad i found Victor! What a great job. Perfectly run family business. He was more than professional - he acted like a family member. For the estimate, I walked him through the home, showing him all of the minor projects I needed done, in addition to re-wiring the lighting in my kids rooms. I explained to him that we were NOT handy, but he was extremely helpful and wrote little notes on things that we could do on our own, if we wanted. My husband was skeptical, so he immediately asked Victor for his card and proof of license, which Victor promptly provided. By the end of the day, Victor was under the sink showing my husband how to hook up the ice machine!... not exactly his call of duty. Corb Electric came recommended to us via Next Door app. We had a long list of upgrades and repairs to be done. Before we could get around to making the call, we had an electrical panel fire. Visit from the FD and Con Ed. Power out and pretty upsetting. I called Victor and explained my situation. Victor was there within two hours and got the power back on. My experience with Corb electric was less than acceptable. While the actual electrician was great (although slow), my main concern was with Victor, who seems to handle most of the business aspects. Not only was my electrician 45 minutes late, but they overcharged me for the amount of time spent servicing. The electrician was here very slightly over an hour and they charged me for an hour and a half. Victor did not apologize or acknowledge either of these things, in fact he defended his electricians tardiness. If I were running a business, tardiness would not be acceptable. I would take your business elsewhere for electrician needs. read more

My kitchen tracklight does not work, i explained the problem, maybe it needs a new fixture and my wires are old and disintegrating. They instantly gave me a quote, and explained what theyll do. Made me feel theyre easy to work with. Dave came early on the set appt, gave me options how he can do the job. Id rather keep the old fixture if it still works. So he check the wires, the tracklight and the switch, it turned out the switch is broke. So he replaced that and put sleeves on the wires of the light box, problem solved!
