Over the years, I've done it all, sat there working from my laptop, Ubered back after an early morning drop-off, and even had them drive me home when I lived nearby. They're always accommodating, patient, and genuinely kind. Their customer service is exceptional, and what really stands out is how they remember their customers and make you feel comfortable every single time. You never feel like just another number, they take the time to explain things and make sure you're taken care of. I've since moved about 45 minutes away, and I STILL come back here for oil changes and anything my car needs. That alone should say everything about the level of trust and confidence I have in them. This review is way overdue . I started using Armstrong about 2 yrs ago when they went the name Honest1 Auto Care. Same owners just a different name. After being ripped off by other mechanics over the years, I was on a search to find an honest mechanic. They were recommended on Facebook and I decided to give them a try. The service writers are extremely helpful and friendly. To give you an idea how honest they are.. A few months ago I got a nail in tire on my way to work on a Sunday. I stopped at a tire place near my office. I showed the worker there my tire and he told me I needed to replace the tire. He quoted me $245. I told him that I didn't have that kind of money on me. He then suggested that I could walk up the road to an ATM. He told me he'll do it for $200. It seemed really sus to me. I told him I had to get to work and asked him to put the spare tire on. He then gave me attitude, however put the spare on. I told him I would come back on Monday. I ended up going to Armstrong on Monday. They told me that I did not need a new tire and they could just patch the tire. This is why I go to Armstrong. A few weeks later I got another nail in a different tire and I took my car to Armstrong. Ramon took care of me and looked at the tire. Luckily it just involved patching it. I also noticed that my tire sensor light stopped working after the last nail incident. I asked Ramon about fixing it. He told me as long as I keep checking my tire pressure, I didn't have to fix the sensor, which would have run $240. extremely honest. Seven months ago I thought I found a great repair shop, fast forward 7 months and now I feel I was scammed and ripped off. I just paid $1300 to tighten several hose clamps . My invoice read removed old gas tank and install new gas tank test for leaks. After I went to another shop and had car put on lift , there was no tank ever replaced. I emailed the service advisor told him and was told in writing that fuel line hose only needed the clamps tightened and that the computer that did the service order wrote it up as a gas tank replacement as a generic description. $1300 to tighten two clamps . Other work that was written up to be done was never done. What used to be an honest business no longer trustworthy. read more

Not sure what happened to this place after they became Armstrong (they used to be Honest-1), but it has gone downhill. Today, I dropped off my car at 8:00am with an appointment for them to check the A/C. They said it would take an hour max to diagnose. Fast forward two hours, I called to inquire as to the status of the car. The person that answered the phone said they no estimated time and then proceeded to hang up on the phone on me. I called back and asked for the supervisor. I explained to the supervisor what was happening with the estimated time and the fact that his employee hung up on me. The supervisor laughed. When I told him I did not appreciate his laughing at the situation, he told me to come pick up the car and that they would not be servicing it. We had been taking our cars here for years. Ever since they changed their name, it has been nothing but bad service and attitude problems. A few months ago, I needed them to swap a tire. Pretty simple work. They promised me it would take 30 minutes or so, but ended up taking hours. I didn't write a review because I chalked it up to a bad day. Now I won't set foot anywhere near this place. read more

I found a screw in my tire with pressure loss yesterday. I had exactly one hour to spare before having to pick my son up from summer camp. I stopped in to see if they could handle the tire in an hour. Not only did they patch my tire in 30 minutes, but they were kind and honest. Don't waste your money and time here. Should have read the reviews. I took my Honda here for a simple evap error code and they charged me for it and found a bunch of "other" issues that needs to be fixed and I foolishly fixed those too. They say they have warranty on all service but the same error popped up two days later and they refused to fix it under warranty but offered to charge me 500 for parts only. What a scam. Run far away. New name same employees is a huge red flag. UPDATE!! I fixed it with one part. 80 dollars and one YouTube video. Easy fix when you're competent. This is a very nice place. I have only tried it once so far, but will definitely be returning. The waiting area is very nice and they even have a little play area for the kids. The people I worked with gave very thorough explanations for things and were not pushy about spending money immediately. Although I got a list of things that need to be done for my vehicle, I was told to do a little at a time. I was able to make an appointment online and I was in and out in about an hour for an oil change and some diagnostics. read more

I took my car in a week ago to check out my latches for my trunk and my gas since it was acting up- being stuck. They charged me 134.99 diagnostic fee to show me how to manually pull the lever from the inside of my car to release the gas lever. Which is ok.. I guess. But a week later my engine light comes on, after they did an oil change and they said they need to charge me $134.99 again to take a look at it. Something smells pretty fishy.. They aren't even looking at the long term picture on how to take care of a new customer - instead they are worried about paying their mechanics to look for a simple look and tell. read more

I was looking for a dealership alternative to service my 2019 Chevy Tahoe. After reading multiple reviews for Honest-1 Auto Care, I brought my car for service. Luis was the representative who assisted me this afternoon. I explained what the dealership said I needed at my current mileage interval. He educated me on the difference between manufacture recommendations and what my car actually needed. After him and the technician completed a thorough check, I only needed an oil change and my tires rotated. His honesty and service saved me from paying $300.00 for routine maintenance recommendations made by the Chevy dealership, that weren't needed on my vehicle at my current mileage interval. Thank Goodness for Yelp! I am the first to admit that being a foodie I started using Yelp exclusively for dining out. However, today while driving out of my hood, I received a warning from my Hum by Verizon device that there was a low battery warning on my car. So I opened Yelp and found some place with a good rating and called them, and made a beeline to them. Luckily they were only 4 miles away. Jason, who helped us was extremely customer service orientated and professional. Both traits I highly appreciate in service oriented situations. Not only did he check our battery and tolerate me watching everything. Yeah, I do that. In addition to checking our battery, he noticed our front tires needed to be changed and soon. We knew that. Although it is my car, my Dad, wants a particular tire, which after I mentioned them to Jason, he said he could get me those tires or whatever I wanted within 24 hours. Good to know. Thanks to my Yelp check in I received a 10% discount. Honest-1 Autocare is a large shop with a spacious inside area that includes a kids play area. Nice! I do not have children but I still appreciate the available service. I have been places with parents and children who had nothing to play with while there. It ain't fun. Funny ending to this story. I went out to buy some things at a nearby Walgreens and a different person checked us out. He wanted to know how I got the Yelp discount. He also asked me to reach him how to do it. So I taught him how to check into Yelp and how to save his discounts for later and how to find them. He was beyond thrilled. In exchange, I got the name of a dynamite ice cream store in Coral Gables called, Morelia Gourmet Paletas. He was drooling just talking about his experience there. So one time I brought my car in for a oil change everything was good and I went home to which the next day I found oil is leaking. So I brought back my car they checked it out and said the bolt in my oil pan is stripped. I asked why and they explained it's a wear and tear part and wanted to fix it for a lot of money and it going to be a few days. Do you understand how deceptive it is to strip a bolt and then try to explain to me it's normal... they probably do that all the time to suckers who don't know better. I walked in after having 4 brand new tires put on my 2012 VW Golf R. i looked on google to see what places provided alignment services because i had just had work done on vehicle (fuel injector cylinder 2) my regular mechanic (ASE CERTIFIED) does his multi point inspection as he always does he unfortunately doesn't have an alignment rack. So once again I get mislead by Googles star rating which gave honest 1 auto care a 4.8 which i find incredibly hard to believe considering the experience i just had. i walked in and asked the small gentleman behind the counter if I could please have an alignment done on my vehicle. His first question is whether i had any suspension work done. i said "no i haven't but i'm going to do some to it in the future." to which he replied " i would just be taking your money if i did that." i'm sorry but isnt that the point. Money in exchange for goods and services? The misinformation that this man was spewing out of his mouth was unbelievable. I stopped him and asked him to just please do the alignment. now this is where i was done. he tells me that since i told him i would be doing work on my suspension possibly down the road that he can't align my car. i usually am not one for reviews but i think the manager and or owner should know that the lost out over $100 for a 4 wheel alignment because of an employees ego. read more

Since moving to Florida, this has been the only place I trust my car to be in good hands . I have been to the location in Daytona and Fort Lauderdale. They are very honest and here's why ; I left my car lights on overnight and had to call AAA in the morning. The mechanic told me that I needed a new battery, and was charging me a high amount at the time. But I decided to get a second opinion or two. I visited a store and told me it wasn't the battery but another part they needed to be replaced. I went to honest 1, they ran a test, and told me nothing needed to be replaced. Since then my car has been normal. Nothing needed to be done. They are all very caring and want the best for their customers. I was told I needed sway bars replaced on my 2011 Acura MDX because the boots were worn. This was discovered when I was there for an oil change. I was going to do it later because I was quoted $275 for repair and also needed tires and an alignment. I was told they could not do alignment without doing sway bars first so I agreed because they did reduce price of repair. However after the fact I learned sway bars are not that necessary for driving. Better to have but not necessary unless you off road your vehicle or take turns fast which I don't do. Now have regret because my AC in vehicle is not working so they will be an expensive repair. Probably going somewhere where they specialize in this as they didn't even have a master mechanic to look at it when I was there for 2 hours. read more

I went there for ac unit turn on & off intermittently Our company uses fleet management service. This mechanic shop told the maintenance company ac us not blowing cold at all. THAT is a lie. Ac always blows cold. It just stops blowing then turn back on After speaking with a/c company that deals with automotive stated that is caused by a vacuum leak instead this company replaced compressor and evap coil. After $2000 later the problem did not go away. All Louis says bring back to further troubleshoot The vehicle was already there for 4 days to say it is fixed. And it's not. Okay first of all I just read another review of another pregnant lady that this company tried to screw over and I'm here to second that! I'm pregnant and took my car in for an oil change. To start, I had called them and asked for a price for my car and agreed to come in. When I got there the price went way up! That was the first red flag. Then the guy tells me they work on commission which made me way nervous they were going to try to tell me I needed work on something I really didn't. And it happened! They told me I had an oil leak! I didn't buy it for a second. I left and took my car to a trusted family friends mechanic shop (I didn't go to at first because it's kind of far from me) and THERE WAS NO FREAKING OIL LEAK!!! The "leak" they showed me was residual oil that was not related to a leak in any way! Really classy trying to take advantage of a pregnant woman And in response to the owner, the problem was there was NO leak anywhere on my car! So he was "showing" me a leak that didn't exist! They have great mechanics and staff who are friendly that guarantee satisfaction. My only suggestion for improving their service is checking the mileage with the cars service manual. That way I could've done the full engine change and prevented another trip back due to some other part on my engine breaking. It might've seemed more expensive to do the engine change than the minute repair but the separate break downs, tows to the shop and loss of productivity are a heavier drain on my time and wallet. Clean, friendly and a good oil change. Make sure and show them the coupon for the $20 oil change from their website. I visited to see if the 20 minute drive was worth the switch from the local jiffy lube down the street. The waiting area is huge, they have multiple comfy chairs to relax in, a cute kids area with table, chairs and a little kitchen play set. My little man spent most of his time there until he found the free snack area... Doritoes, nature bars, coke, sprite, tea, coffee... all for the customer! Oil change did not take long, maybe cause it was a Tuesday at 11am? Plus they didn't try to sell me anything extra, which I really appreciate. Just told me that my 90k tune up was coming soon and gave me price estimates for what it'd cost. The only issue that takes at that one star.... one bathroom that does not have a baby changing table. You have a kids area but no changing table? Thankfully hubby was there so he changed my son's stinky diaper in the play area as I watched... being 9 months pregnant its difficult to maneuver on the ground. I thought I just needed an oil change (overdue about 7,000 miles) and tire rotation. I saw other good reviews on Yelp about this garage, which is near where I live, so I stopped in. 1. The facility is great. It's clean and comfortable. They have wifi, comfortable armchairs, complimentary drinks and snacks including coffee, soft drinks, granola bars, and even a children's play area. 2. The people are great. The owner was helpful and explained things clearly. Manny, the mechanic who serviced my car, showed me what was happening and where repairs needed to be made. 3. The service was excellent. Not only did they do the work I went there for, but they solved a problem that had been bothering me for a long time. My old van had an exhaust leak that made the vehicle noisy and also stinky with exhaust if you rolled down the windows while you were idling. At least four other mechanics over the years have pointed this out and said it would be too expensive to replace or repair. But Manny at Honest-1 suggested a way to replace it with a flexible connector that could be welded in place. He did it in two hours at a cost of a little over $200. That was a week ago, and my van now runs like a dream. It's quiet and smooth and a pleasure to drive. I'm really happy I found Honest-1 and recommend it to anyone in the area. read more

I have a Sprint Drive connected in my car and a check engine light came up on my dashboard the Sprint Drive said I had a Active Air Grilled Shutter malfunction, as soon as I saw it the same app showed Honest1 Auto Care as my first option, read their reviews and were amazing rated 4.5 on Google. I booked my appointment and the next day @ 7:30am received an email from Luis (manager of shop) saying that they don't fix those kind of issues. As a women, I typically walk skeptically into any auto shop and don't take their word at face value. This place has never steered me wrong (pun intended) & I've grown to trust them.
