I took my car to Davie Garage after getting a quote from Nissan Authorized dealer after an oil change from them for over $550, for brake pad replacement, cabinet and oil filter replacement, wiper replacement. My car had only 12,000 and odd miles. Mr. Robert assured me there is no need of a brake pad replacement after 12,000 miles, he just changed my windshield wipers. Now I am reaching 15,000 miles and the car didn't have any issues in plying another 3,000 miles. I am taking my car for another service this week. My daughter's 2003 Buick Regal was stalling and running poorly and she was relocating from Miami to Boston. Davie Garage had it for 4 days and concluded it need 3 ignition coils and an ignition control module. They charged her $1,136 including a large upcharge on the parts. This had no impact on the stalling and I had to drive it home with 2 feet for 1500 miles. Once home, I quickly figured out the problem by looking at the vacuum line into the fuel injection pressure regulator. It was wet with gas indicating a failed regulator. This is a very common issue with this engine and should have been found during their initial inspection of the fuel system. I replaced it in 15 minutes with a $58 Genuine GM part from RockAuto and it runs like a champ. I had a nice conversation with the mechanic about their expensive, missed diagnosis. He asked why I didn't bring it back so they could do more work on it. read more

Where do I begin? I will sing the praises of this business and recommend them to do anyone who needs their vehicle serviced. From the vehicle service to the customer service, they are the ideal establishment to patronize. It started with Cynthia, who was so pleasant and kind from my first call to set up an appointment to 3 days later at the time she released my vehicle back to me. In between this, Robert contacted me regarding my vehicle and what issues were found. Throughout the process we discussed the problems and potential cost. He was informative, polite, prompt, professional, and there was no pressure to accept services on every issue found. It was costly to have the issues fixed, but I'm certain it was fair and Robert worked with me to see how we could get my vehicle functioning properly within my budget. I've taken my car to a local firestone complete auto care because it was close to my house and convenient on two separate occasions. Both times the Firestone was unable to fix my problem, each time my car would experience the same problems and Firestone would keep trying to add new items that needed to be repaired; they were basically just guessing. I can't express to you how fantastic my experience has been with Davie Garage, they identified the problems immediately and within one day the car was performing with no malfunctions. I just took my car here to just get the windshield wipers replaced, but they still went the extra mile. Robert, the owner, greeted me very kindly, and then later told me my splash guard (or whatever it's called) was loose and tightened it up for free, but I would have definitely been willing to pay a little extra for the effort. As I was driving home, I noticed that they also wiped inside of my car windshield too. He still only charged me 20 bucks for the parts and labor, and it was done in 20ish minutes for everything. Also, when Robert was on the phone, I felt like he sounded like the hosts of the old NPR show, Car Talk. Nice place with some rustic charm. I like that the business is local and run by people who care about cars and keeping customers. I'll likely switch to this place when it's time to get my oil changed. Just so so to be honest - they can and will work on foreign cars but they are by no means experts - they will however charge you a fair and honest rate for the things they can work on. The guys directly across the street who do specialize in German cars charge almost as much as BMW - eeeeks. However at Davie Garage - he will tell you if he can fix it or not. However that said - if you have an electrical problem in your car - foreign or domestic - this shop isn't going to go all out with an ammeter testing for shorts. Beware of these guys. Nice people they just charge too much and don't quite disclose what your mechanical issues are. They fixed my AC, told me I had a leak they couldn't find after testing and looking,etc. 4 months later I go back in and by a miracle they instantly find the issue. For 1800.00 more than half is labor because their book states billable hours even though it takes a fraction of that time to complete. Gouge much?? Bottom line, go across the street and price the work,their guarantee means nothing because they write a tiny sub clause invalidating the original work. Bottom line, if the cost of repair exceeds the value of your car,don't waste your cash. Buy something else and have it checked before you pay for it. I'm certain garage owners should be politicians. No BS shop! Took my Jeep in to get looked at in preparation to move overseas. They didn't try to convince me to get any work done other than one minor thing that needed adjusting. The tech even told me not to worry about another minor thing as it might lead to more serious problems breaking it apart. Overall these guys are honest and know what they're doing. STOP!! DO NOT GO TO DAVIES GARAGE!! RipOff. I have never written a review before but I had to write a review just to warn people. I wIll never come back here ever again! Robert, the owner, at first was real friendly. He seemed genuinely concerned and sincere however it's an act people!!! Robert is the most deceitful business owner I have ever met! I took my truck here because a friend heard this was a good place. I had a problem with my brakes ) I thought). I was the only one in the waiting room so I wasn't sure why I had waited 2 hours which I found strange. Finally robert comes out and proceeds to tell me I need new brakes and rotors and my motor mounts needed to be replaced. I thought to myself " that's impossible" Then he quoted me an outrageous price. My gut was telling me something Isn't right here. . So I left and went down the street to get another opinion . I explained the same problem WITHOUT telling them i just came from Davies Garage. Long story short, I waited 20 minutes and they ended up telling me I just needed my rotors resurfaced. I then did ask them if they saw anything wrong with my brakes or with my motors mounts. They checked and came back and said I was not at the point where i needed to replace my brakes. And as for the engine mounts the mechanic took a second look and said there's nothing wrong. He asked me what gave me the idea that there was something wrong? That's when I told him about Davies Garage. He said that he was not at all surprised. He's been known for deceiving customer. I wanted to let as many people as I can, Don't GO TO DAVIES GARAGE.
