Never having been to the College Park area, I decided to meet my mom here for dinner one Wednesday evening. Little did we know just how much we would love this place and how we would soon become regulars. We always sit outside due to COVID, and the fact that the weather is beautiful. I am a big fan of vodka sauce, so I ordered their Chicken Tatiana and was simply amazed at my first bite. This is truly the best pasta dish I've ever had in my life, and I order it every single time. Pizza was decent but the pepperoni was a bit spicier than we expected. Server should have warned about it. We had a 2 year old with us that loves pizza, so it would have been nice to know. Lasagna was average, portion could have been a bit bigger. Very typical traditional menu. I have eaten at the other location in the past. I would have to say that some dishes are better executed than others. There are not too many nice and casual places in college park so this is an obvious choice for many locals. Nothing spectacular. Love Italian food but this was pretty good, not great. Antonios in Maitland has the best italian food in Orlando. Cant wait to review them soon. Long overdue! read more

Amazing service! Went to Armando's last night with a friend who is a sommelier. We always have the worst luck with wait staff botching the bottle opening process, but our waiter here was flawless. The service is so bad it's prompted me to write my first review. Twice now my wife, daughter 1.5yr old and I attempted to eat here and exp the same treatment. With a young child we are trying to be respectful and eat outside both times we were completely ignored. It's 90+ deg outside waiters walk past multiple times without even bringing water. The host asked "how long do you plan on staying?" We felt bc we had a small child we were not welcomed. At one point a server came out to greet a table which he knew personally, walked past our table (clearly empty zero water) and refused to make eye contact. Even after confronting the "manager" zero attempts were made to remedy the problem. read more

It's open! I was so excited when I learned about this spot opening up in my neighborhood. I already love the Winter Park location and this corner spot on Edgewater was craving something delicious. Went for lunch yesterday and it was gorgeous out so we snagged a table outside. Our server was so dang nice. Appreciated that, it really stood out. Also, it was pretty quick service from order to receiving so it was great for a quick, relaxed lunch. We started with the Caprese and the mozzarella was so fresh that it was almost zesty. It came in the middle of 4 sliced tomatoes and arugula on the side. I appreciated that there was no balsamic on it as I enjoy just olive oil. I seriously could have just kept those coming for my meal. It was a fabulous start and perfect for 2 as a starter. My main meal was the Orecchiette Primavera with broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, and olives, finished with white wine sauce and a touch of cream. I would say it was a bit more than a touch of cream but I didn't mind, it complimented all of the ingredients. Keep in mind, if you don't love salt, maybe don't get the olives but I welcomed the burst of flavor and salt that they added. It was a pretty large portion so I took some of it home. I can't wait for a lovely evening and just grabbing some dinner and wine outside here. The inside is huge as well and lovely. So excited to welcome this spot to the neighborhood. read more

The sangria was also super strong, which is a good thing I guess :-) I don't remember our server's name but he was very thorough, almost too thorough, to the point where he would correct our pronunciations a bit obnoxiously, and honestly it was kind of awkward whenever he was around, but he did his job as a server well. I had high hopes for this place, but in the end, I was disappointed. It's a nice casual atmosphere and has the making for a good Italian meal, but that's where it ends. Service was spectacular. Our server was helpful without being overbearing,friendly and informative. The menu is quite extensive, as is the wine list- however, the evening we went, they were in the process of redoing the wines, so the choices were not listed, but we were told what was available. Our waited brought bread and a nice balsamic/olive oil mix. The bread was horrendous- it was a small loaf that was not sliced- and since it was old, it had the texture of stone, nearly impossible to slice and then the bread inside crumbled from being so old. The highlight of the meal was the fried calamari- excellent, crispy and flavorful. As a main, I chose the Spaghetti alle Vongole (clams), and was sadly disappointed. It was a small portion for $22.95, and had very little flavor. The clams were served on top in their shells, which made for a beautiful presentation, but the beauty of the dish was undermined by the lack of flavor. The spaghetti was slightly overcooked, but acceptable. My wife had the Ravioli Ai Funghi, which I tasted, and while better than my main, it wasn't as flavorful as it should've been as well. For desert I had the Tiramisu, which was very good, so at least the meal ended well. While the Calamari Fritti was incredible, it didn't save the meal. I have heard that the Winter Park location is better, I may try that, but I doubt I will go back to the College Park location. read more

I ordered the Pappardelle Ala Vodka, fried calamari, and Cesar salad. For the price and reviews, I was let down. The pasta was okay, but I found the sauce to be underwhelming. Not a lot of developed flavor, it was pretty bland. When you order fried calamari, you want it to be nice and golden and crisp but not chewy. The calamari I got looked anemic. It was pale and not fried properly. The Cesar salad was simply some chopped romaine, two croutons and one single anchovie that was obviously from a can. The dressing was also quite thick. It was definitely not worth the $50 I spent. Overall I was not impressed with this meal. It was pretty pedestrian. read more

This place just opened another place in Lake nona on Narcoossee next to 310. I was looking forward to trying their food. Screw this place unless you know the bartender from Chroma. I stopped to have lunch but apparently I didn't have enough clout from the bartender from Chroma. I sat and watching as she treated the people coming in after me as VIPs and took their order and got their food before I was asked to order. Of course they receive their food before I was ask to order, as well as another couple that were also her other customers from Chroma in Lake Nona. I'm so glad she got what she got from her past customers but, I like between the bridges, I support these businesses and I know a lot of people here. I stop in to have a drink while I waited for someone to handle business at another place near by. I sat at the bar and order a long island ice tea. I asked to close my tab, but when I received my check it said 13.08 for one drink. So I asked to speak to the manager to see if they use top shelf or is that for regular. As I'm waiting for the manager the bartender is saying I'm being cheap, as well as to tell the manager I'm crying over my drink. The manager came over and started to explain to me why the drink was the amount it was, the bartender is still talking to me crazy so much so that she told him to walk away. I told her I noticed I'm the only black person in there and he wasn't talking to the white customers the way he was talking to me. She had the nerve to say he was half black, that's when I said I don't care about him being half black!! She refunded my money but I noticed as I'm still waiting for my friend outside that she was laughing and talking to the bartender like he had not just talked to one of their customers crazy. This place is racist they do not have one black person working there except for the half black bartender. Save your money and time if you are not white because they will let the employees talk and treat you any kind of way. P.S. as I was standing outside he also took a picture of me. read more

It is Thursday night, 8pm, and I tried to order dinner for pickup. The young lady who answered the phone three times said, "I can't hear you, it is noisy here." I asked about the dinner special, and she replied, "We don't have one." Asked whether a specific item was on the menu, she replied, "Not that I know of." She clearly was there to answer the phone, yet without any knowledge of the restaurant's offerings. We hung up. I called back 10 times to order a pizza, line was busy. Really - busy in 2021? I've called many other times when the phone is busy and same type of phone service. It's a shame. Food is delicious and serving staff is always over-the-top friendly and efficient - that is, if you're sitting in the dining room. Clearly, ordering for pickup is not a priority at Armondo's. read more

We choose this place for date night this week, and the whole experience put a damper on the evening. From the start it seemed like nobody really cared about us & our experience while being there! It would be one thing if it was busy, but the location seem pretty dead ! Being in the service industry myself, I cut a lot of places some slack but it was a good 10 minutes until someone came to take our order! Multiple times it happened that waiters would pass by with our food and would try to sell off our food to other tables, because it seemed like they didn't know our table existed. Had a great date night dinner at Armando's in College Park last night. We were fortunate enough to have fantastic weather and were able to enjoy dining al fresco with our pup. I love the location right on Edgewater Drive which makes you feel like you are in a big city and makes for great people watching. Our server (I think his name was Scott) was very attentive, but on more than one occasion dropped the ball. He asked if we would like bread and we said yes, but he never brought any. Another time we asked what flavor was in the canoli cream and he said he would find out only to not provide the answer. We had the Carpacio for an appetizer, which was fresh and fantastic. I had a blackberry mojito which was pretty bitter and could have used a tad more simple syrup, but my husband's old fashioned was perfect. I got a pasta dish with papardelle pasta (made in house), white wine cream sauce, onions, mushrooms and peas. It was good, but could have had more flavor. My husband's entree which was the special was pasta filled with ricotta and parm with mixed meat ragu. The pasta was like cheesy pillows and the ragu was to die for. Definitely the star of the meal. For dessert we split a canoli (which was large enough for two in my opinion), the cream was decadent with citrus undertones. read more

We are regulars at Armando's in Winter Park but decided to try the Edgewater location on Mother's Day. The customer service from the hostess was severely lacking. There were tables open but she was extremely conflicted on whether she should seat us at 2pm because the table she was contemplating on had a reservation at 7pm. I kid you not, she said these thoughts out loud. I gave my husband a look and he winked and nodded, agreeing to be patient and give her a chance to think through the timeline without our input. The hostess walked away into a back room, leaving us waiting at the front with our children for 9 minutes. Yes, I kept track. That's an eternity for kids. The other guests were friendly, mentioning how handsome our boys were and asking if they were triplets. She finally came back and sat us, seemingly confident from her back room consultation visit that there was no way we would be there 5 hours. Still gave 2 stars because the food at any Armando's is great and thankfully our waiter gave us a good experience. Next time we are definitely sticking with Armando's in the Winter Park location. read more

Made a reservation to have a girls brunch. I called the restaurant to make sure they also had brunch on Saturday, which they said they did. Sadly, when we sat down we were told they only have brunch on Sunday. We proceeded to order mimosas anyway and order from the lunch menu. The room was very hot as we were seated right in front of the kitchen and front door because no other section of the restaurant had a server. The food came and every single dish was insanely salty. I have nothing against sodium but it tasted like the salt shaker broke and poured into our dishes. We ordered carbonara (dinner portion), puttanesca, and calamari in white wine sauce. The calamari came and was actually in a tomato based sauce. We decided to just call it and asked for the check. This was an unfortunate experience because I really enjoy the College Park location but this one missed the mark. read more

This restaurant did not have fettuccine alfredo on the menu but they were happy to make me rigatoni alfredo. When I received my order the alfredo sauce was the best I have ever tasted. Unfortunately the rigatoni was far too aldenti. I would, however, still recommend this restaurant. read more

RAW CHICKEN.......I've been to Armondo's a few times before and have always enjoyed the food and great service. I do understand that these are troubling times for restaurants and they're trying they're best during Covid. That being said i went for date night on Saturday ordered the "Tatiana" pasta which is shrimp chicken and vodka sauce. I was having a real hard time cutting into the chicken breast and upon my first bite i had to spit the chicken right out onto my plate it was raw and rubbery. I told our server and he comp'd the dish. But i was very disappointed a manager did not come by and address the issue with us. Raw chicken can have an establishment shut down. I still gave a two star because my boyfriends Chicken parm and our app the calamari were both very good as we expect from Armandos. read more
