This time wasn't too good. Salad was great! Garlic knots lacked major garlic flavor. The chicken francese lacked major flavor as well, not enough lemon juice, the dressing was watery, the whole platter tasted like only salt, was very disappointed considering this was an Italian restaurant. The waitress took forever just to bring a simple salad, when she brought my espresso, there was barely anything espresso in the cup. I guess it was not such a good day to eat here considering the lack of efficiency, quality and overall care. Maybe they should better train their staff and hire Italian people to cook so the food actually tastes good.
My boyfriend and I decided to stop by this pizza place again today's late lunch. My bf got meat lover calzone. They made fresh and tasted so good. The marinera sauce was delightful. Personally I loved with or without it. I got lunch special chicken perm slider. I got two of them a nice crispy fries. Sliders were made with garlic knot. But it wasn't too garlicky. They were also fresh made. The waiter was brilliant! Genuine smile. The time was before rush hour. So place was like old Italian spot. We both enjoyed the food and all. Will go back again!
Had a slice of hot margherita pizza and I was surprised how tasty it was. Didn't think this place had decent pizza like it did. The crust wasn't burnt at all and had great doughy flavor. Service was prompt, waited a lil bit for the pizza to get reheated but that was understandable. Ambiance and decor was in line with an average cafe pizza joint. This place does get busy at times though and seems to be on of the few places opened late on this street
Metro is a surprisingly tasty and generous Italian affair beyond its pizzeria focus and unassuming/welcoming/accessible decor and presentation. The garlic knots were some of the biggest we've ever seen, plates full with flavor, and sauces & flavors full and flowing - my All Star Aperol Spritz was particularly delicious, and I very much enjoyed my Meatball Marinara sandwich, which I subbed (ha) with Vodka sauce. Lovely outdoor seating and accommodating neighborhood-scaled eatery with an overly busy staff that can result in long wait times, but Elle did great - with her and the chefs' work, the staff definitely deserve a raise! Plus, it's in a denser, walkable, multi-modal environment that contributes to the street life and vibrancy of Downtown Orlando.
Heyyyyyyyy you guyyyyyyyys! What a delight this place is, the service was excellent. The food options were endless, appetizers, pizza, gyros, burgers, salads, dessert. We were a party of 4 and we had a Bianca pizza which was 10 out of 10, we had garlic knots they were delicious and the sauce was amazing too. We had a burger medium well with fries, all was served hot and fresh! Last we had a phillyboli which had thin steak, mushrooms, onions and peppers. Wait and we finished with tiramisu. We literally left completely satisfied with our entire experience. Casual place with humble vibes and delicious food! Let's eat!!
I came here on a Sunday night for a quick dinner. I was craving a nice Italian meal my last night in Orlando. We finished exploring the city and walking back through Lake Eola. Luckily this location was close to my Airbnb. It was very close to closing time but they did have some space to seat me and provide a meal. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. It came out quickly. The portion size was huge. I ate half of the sandwich and was full. I was very grateful that they were open later than most restaurants in the area. Next time I will have to keep that in mind when I am looking for dinner options. This is a great place. I highly suggest going here.
Beware attempting to use one of their coupons! I just ordered two large Bianca pizzas for their "Thursday Specials" coupon. The coupon states: "BUY ONE PIZZA GET ONE HALF OFF OF EQUAL VALUE (Same Toppings) Take-Out or Delivery Only; This offer cannot be combined with any other offer." I would think two large Bianca pizzas would qualify, being the same value with the same toppings! When I got there to pick up and pay, I was told that the owner said the offer was for Cheese pizzas only. Nothing about that is printed on the coupon. I call BS!
Sometimes we crave Italian! It happens all the time. & when you want a lunch that's very filling,flavorful, & quick, Metro is the place for you! I had the honor of trying their Chicken Parmesan for lunch and I had my entire work building craving this meal after I was done! I mean, it will definitely satisfy your pasta cravings for sure. The employees there are so kind and the back of house is too! I go there often even for a slice of pizza! Restaurant is very clean too!
Every time we're downtown this is my family and I go to. The food is amazing and the service is fast and efficient. I love the outdoor seating. What a great place the people watch and enjoy some great Italian food.
Went for lunch with my hubby and daughter. There was a small lunch rush. We ordered the Spinach dip which was delicious. Side Caesar salad and Greek salad was good portion and fresh. Love their Caesar dressing. My daughter had 3 slices of pepperoni that she liked but said was a little greasy. She had to dab off the excess oil with a napkin. Decor is simple and service was okay.
This downtown Orlando pizza spot is a staple for us! Every time we visit we always stop in from the pizza, calzones, salads, and the sauce is so tasty. The service is always very attentive and such a cute place for locals or visitors. We have been going for years.
We've walked past this place many times, and decided to stop in today for a quick lunch. Sitting outside was nice, it was a beautiful day. The hostess was great, seated us and was very friendly. Anna, I believe, was our server and she was very nice, my wife got a lunch special of a slice and a salad. I thought I was starving, so I had a small pizza. Everything came out in a timely manner, and boy, they aren't shy on sizes. That small pizza seemed more like a medium, but that's fine, it was bubbling hot and tasty. The cheese slice that came out was huge as well. Pretty normal fare for a nice little Italian pizza place. Overall, everything was pretty good, we had to leave a little early. We will definitely stop back in again, add it to our rotation of places to eat at when in the area.
Great service friendly people. Visited Lake Eola Saturday evening to enjoy the unusually cool fall like weather in late winter here in Florida. Quick picnic shopping left me with a coffee craving which led me to visit the Metro Espresso Pizza joint. I agreed with previous comments about how it looks like it was plucked out of a neighborhood from NYC. I requested to purchase a coffee macchiato and a Hot chocolate for my child. Price was reasonable and drinks were spot on . Although I didn't purchase any other food; what I bought was good enough for us to continue our picnic in the park.

Ironically I haven't tried the pizza here yet so I can't speak to that, but I did enjoy their simple caramel latte! As they have "espresso" in their name, I decided to stop for a caffeine fix one day. The staff was nice and the restaurant itself is super adorable. They have a really cute terrace/ outdoor area to sit. Of course, seating inside as well. The coffee offerings are basic, but again my latte was strong and enjoyable. Being an Italian place, they had some fins desserts like cannolis and cheesecake. It's a lovely little place. read more

Swung by Metro Espresso Pizza at 2:45am to check out their surprise bag for Too Good to Go. Super delicious. I LOVE that there's a business open until 3am that you can stop in and have a super late night bite to eat. The staff was very nice and attentive. I tried 3 different pizzas- one was the Bianca (white pizza), Margherita, and the Meat Lovers. The Bianca was *chef's kiss*... The fresh ricotta was SO delicious. Loved the garlicky crust. No notes. Amazing. The star of the show. The Margherita pizza was yummy. It was very fresh-tomatoey... maybe a little more than I wanted on the pizza. But great nonetheless. The Meat Lovers pizza was a surprising hit. I am normally not a meat lovers fan (I will usually just order pepperoni) because I normally don't like the taste/quality of the sausage that pizza places use on pizza... But the Italian sausage on the pizza was very good, along with the rest of the meats on the pizza. Two thumbs up. I can't wait for my next late-night visit to Metro Espresso Pizza, I'll definitely be back soon! read more

This was the closest restaurant to the lake so made the choice easy. Luckily they had outdoor seating because we were sweaty and the weather was nice. Our server was very pleasant, and invited us to choose any table we wanted. The outdoor wasn't anything fancy and all the tables were clean so we grabbed one in the corner. For dinner we ordered a pepperoni pizza which was fabulous. We devoured the perfectly cooked pizza. The crust wasn't too thick or thin, and it had a wonderful wood fired flavor. The cheese and pepperoni ratio was perfect per slice. Our only comment was that after we made our order we never saw the server again until we were ready for the check. If you are seeking a quality pizza this place will surely deliver that. Their menu is quite large with lots of Options if you decide that you don't want pizza. read more

Party of 6, easy to get a table on Sunday evening without reservation. Offer indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. Garlic knots were fresh & served warm. I enjoyed my Chicken Francese Entree, large portion, and looking forward to leftovers tomorrow. Everyone was pleased with their selection, plenty of options. Fee for CC use, but clearly marked on bill. Eola parking can be a challenge, but lots of alternatives nearby. read more

I liked the bread except in spots it was really wet like dipped in water which was kind of unpleasant. The sandwich was large, my friend and I shared one. One sandwich and 2 drinks was over $20, over $24 with the tip. Realistically I prefer Jersey Mike's. read more
My friend and I found this cute restaurant with a casual feel in downtown Orlando, right near Lake Eola Park. I liked the adorable decor and wall signs, such as: Every family has a story; Welcome to ours... Good food / Good friends / Good times. We chose booth seating, and were given a menu, which was extensive and included many other food items than just pizza. I decided to order the Gyro platter, which consisted of lamb meat, Greek salad, french fries, pita bread with melted cheese, as well as tzatziki sauce. This was very neatly plated and large portions. The lamb was tender, well seasoned, and juicy. I really enjoyed the melty cheese on the slightly crunchy and nicely fluffy pita. The lamb and cheesy pita paired with the delightfully creamy, silky smooths sauce made for mouthwatering bites. The fries were absolutely delicious and wonderfully crispy. The salad came with tomato, onion, and an ample amount of crumbled feta cheese. The lettuce and veggies were fresh and added a healthy element to the dish. I also got to try the Garlic Knots with cheese, which were humongous and only around $5 for 6 pieces. They were incredibly garlicky, buttery, made with perfectly cooked bread, and tons of yummy cheese, creating quite the irresistible cheese pull. Service was excellent throughout our time dining here. The waitresses were on top of everything, and were very efficient. They made sure we always had refills of beverages, and checked on us, while still giving us space. The pricing was also really reasonable. I'm glad my friend and I found this spot. read more
I have only ordered from here once. It is literally downstairs from the place I was staying in Eola Lake area of downtown Orlando.The area itself is full of things to do and this pizza place is a compliment to the area. Orderd the Philly cheese steak pizza and 10 Buffalo wings hot and extra crispy. They almost got the extra crispy right for the wing order. They had crispy edges which was good, but they skin on the whole was not as crisp as I like and it didn't help that they were over sauced. The Philly cheese pizza through me for a loop. Wasn't expecting red sauce on the top. When I opened it I thought I got the wrong order so I took it back downstairs. Turns out this is just how they make it. It did have that Philly cheese steak taste, despite the red sauce. In fact it was quite tasty. Next time I am craving pizza I will definitely order from here. Their pizza is way more authentic than the gourmet pizza place which is literally across the street. I have eaten at both and thus place is fat superior. read more

My family and I stumbled upon here on a chilly rainy evening. We were craving pizza all day long. We could honestly smell the food from a block away! We walked in and we're instantly seated. Our waiter was very attentive and sweet to us. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and oh my gosh it was so tasty! It has the perfect amount of cheese pull and the marinara was so warm and tasty. When my slice came it smelled like heaven. My dad got the vip pizza slice and boy was it stuffed. But the meat inside tasted great! My dad had also kept the marinara sauce to dip his pizza in and that was a great touch. This is definitely going to be our go to pizza spot when we're at lake eola! read more

This is one of my go to places for Italian food in Orlando. Being from NY / NJ, I have a high bar for pizza. Originally, I wasn't too sold on their pizza, but once they updated their menu and ingredients, they have really stepped it up. I do have to knock off a star for service, as it can be a long time before you see your server even when you're the only people there. The atmosphere is cozy and feels like youre dining in a small NYC storefront. All in all I would recommend Metro Espresso, but go in to it with the expectations that service might take a while. read more

Love this place for a quick slice. It is located downtown near the lake. The staff is so friendly. they are quick and kind. I get a slice of cheeses add toms and spinach. Cooked well down because I like my crust a lil crisp. They offer indoor and outdoor seating with table service. They waitress is amazing she knows us by name and is always cheerful. The location is very clean, even the bathrooms. Parking is kinda tough because it is located downtown so there is some street parking. over all 5/5 We will keep coming back ! The bun on my burger was burnt and hard as a brick. Burger had no flavor. The chicken wings are over priced and no flavor. Server were not pleasant and seemed to have an attitude when I questioned the $3.00 charge for lettuce. read more

I've been in Metro Expresso three times i believe, and I have to say their pizza is very good, the first time we went was during the holidays last year, and I remembered we were walking around the lake eola and it got very late, and we were so hungry but everything was closed except them, there were less than 30 minutes to close, and we thought we could get something to take home, we expected that, the actually invites us to eat in, and they didn't rush us, we ordered pizza and appetizers and two beers and we were happy. I loved their pizza, I believed we have tried the chicken ranch, the house or Super supreme, and the cheese pizzas. Their service is always on point, they are very patient and kind with my daughter, she's very talkative is always active and their servers take the time to interact with her. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more
I saw this place a few times while downtown and thought it looked like a cute cafe. But really its a pizza parlor with a cute outside. They carry the standard pizza, sandwiches, calzones, and a good selection of entrees. Not what I was expecting but overall it was pretty good! I'd say this is a great local takeout spot if you live here, and a great place to get a quick slice. Staff was very friendly. Food was tasty. Overall a good experience. read more

This is a great spot to grab a slice of pizza conveniently located right next to Lake Eola. I've been here a couple of times and have found the food and service to be consistently good. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, but it's reasonable considering it's a high traffic area so the amount of patrons fluctuates and it can get pretty busy at times. On my last visit, I wasn't super hungry so just opted for a small chicken Caesar salad. My boyfriend got a slice of five cheese pizza and ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The mozzarella sticks are pretty average. The side of marinara for dipping is pretty good. The chicken Caesar salad was good. A small was a good size for me and the chicken was cooked well and seasoned nicely. I tasted a bite (okay, a couple of bites) of the five cheese pizza. If you're a cheese lover like me, you should definitely try it! The crust on the pizza is also really good. In the past, I've tried their Sicilian style slice and also enjoyed it. There are tons of pizza places around town. I feel this one can hold its own amongst them and the location is perfect after hanging around Lake Eola or the surrounding area. read more

Assumptions are the worst. Like the assumption I had for the longest time Metro Espresso, a cute little Italian dining spot in Downtown Orlando, could hardly be serving decent pizza. Oh, how wrong I was! And an even more pleasant surprise? The surprisingly fresh house salad I got along with it. The spinach and ricotta slice was delicious and with a thinner crust - which I prefer. The house salad with lettuce, tomato, onion, black olives, etc. was crisp with big slices of tomato and lacking any wilted, browning lettuce leaves. Do make a point of sitting outside, European-style, if you can stand the heat. Although I appeared to have 3 different servers, all of them were attentive, professional, and kind. I thoroughly enjoyed my luncheon at Metro and could kick myself for leaving and forgetting to grab a cannoli to go. Ah well, next time...for sure! read more
